- Muncher, on 10/12/2007, -1/+36That's what hardware modding is...
- mookiemookie, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25Sounds like a lot of trouble and possibly damaging your system for no real good reason.

- Charron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15It does exist, if you get rid of the comma. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WaveBird

Any modders out there want to try your hand at making one of these? - krakelohm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14rudy23,
Thats like saying the only reason I see Autobot stickers on all the Honda's is because it makes it faster. Most hardware mods you see today are for looks. - importantname, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12This site has the answer: http://*****.com/
- krakelohm, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WaveBird, Wireless Gamecube controller.
- blork1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6And Wii Sports and Excitetruck and Trauma Centre and Elebits and Sonic and WarioWare and Red Steel (which, contrary to most reviews, is pretty good).
Man, back in the N64 days I was content with 3 games for launch, and if I was lucky, a couple more a year. - noizes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Did this mod to my Gamecube, while it LOOKS nice and is pretty cool it gives some odd bugs to the workings. Especially some of the apps that use GCOS. However it did work perfectly for all cube games, and made travel much easier.
- djdole, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Thanks mcatrage (thumbs up to you!),
Why can't the average Digg submitter figure out how to link DIRECTLY to the article,
so the rest of us don't have to trudge through blog after blog for the content? - jlunski, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I guess so.
- Hoffer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I hate the Wavebird receiver sticking out of my Wii. I would love to have it internal, but no way I'm taking the thing apart. It would be cool if some third party could come out with a Wavebird receiver that was smaller and was more pleasing with the aesthetics of the Wii.
- jpbleuu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3software2 are you mocking yourself as well?
- FRANKeB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1All that know-how AND the worst photography from the same wizard.

The pictures! They burn! - FRANKeB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1All that know-how AND the worst photography possible. All from the same wizard.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Many times I've considered the possibility of putting wireless receivers inside my consoles, but ultimately I decided against it every time. It isn't a matter of damaging the system, but more about functionality. By doing this, you eliminate the ability to use your controllers on a different system.
- chrislee149, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You connect the special controller and use it. The forum replies state that if the Wavebird is turned off, the port it is connected to is usable with a wired controller.
- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3When super smash online comes out, it'll be like 5 games for me. That's what Halo 2 was, 18 months of fun for $50 + $90 for XBL. Well worth it though
- t0ken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The comments on that article start getting pretty bizarre-o around #4...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This belongs in "mods" not "gaming news"
- doddilus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1produce Wii's with the wavebird receiver on the inside? yea somehow i don't think Nintendo would like that very much
- convoluted, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It will make it nice and pretty, but what happens when you want to play with bongos, a ddr mat, or even use GBA connectivity? ... hehe
- DryerCombo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How do you change the channels on the cubes if their all internal now? The modder should just produce these and sell them.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1If there's anytime to make a Wii joke from the headline, this is the article to do it to.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1It's pretty sad that people are OCD enough about teh internets to whine about anything they don't like, but if they have the time to do this... no, just stop.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5Hey, that's not true! There's Zelda and Wii Sports and.... um... shut up!
- illcendiary, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Pretty sad that people are OCD enough about their consoles to do this, but if they have the time to do this, more power to them, I suppose.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -13/+8I guess when there aren't any games to play on your console you might as well mod it.
- rudy23, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1"causing the unsightly giant gray brick that currently resides at the top of your system to be nestled inside, snug and warm within the beautiful confines of your Wii"
am I the only one who felt grossed out after reading that? - markus941, on 10/12/2007, -15/+6@krakelohm
Before you blindly link to Wikipedia, you might want to make sure the article exists - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+0Guy playing Wii on giant screen

- rudy23, on 10/12/2007, -19/+1@Muncher
In most cases hardware modding is done for performance gains or access to better media (hacks).
