- FlankedOut, on 10/18/2008, -3/+18Thats a bummer. I know a few people who were looking forward to this.
- damian7, on 10/18/2008, -11/+1And you're female?!?!?!?!?!?
- falafelkiosken, on 10/18/2008, -3/+1on Digg? no
- oxdeltaxo, on 10/18/2008, -6/+13In my personal opinion I thinks it's a retarded reason to recall a game, especially little big planet. Just because I'm tolerant of the religious does not mean I need to respect their religion. Infact the recall will only serve to re-inforce the fact that Muslims are sensitive cry babies, who can't stand the thought of their religion being used for something besides brainwashing.
- geauxtig3rs, on 10/18/2008, -0/+2Meh, I have my copy, I'm happy as a clam.
- staticneuron, on 10/18/2008, -3/+2Or maybe A song with the phrases "Every soul shall have the taste of death'" and "All that is on earth will perish" kind a throws a monkey wrench in Sony's marketing a family fun type of game.
- oxdeltaxo, on 10/18/2008, -1/+5@staticneuron
The english translation of those words aren't included in the game it's verbatim from the quaran in another language.
Regardless the game wasn't pulled because of disturbing phrases, it was pulled because it made sensitive Muslims squirm. - staticneuron, on 10/18/2008, -3/+1It was one random post on a blog. That lea to the possibility of offending someone. 20 percent of the worlds population is muslim and the majority of them can understand arabic. So what if they removed it because it offends someone. I would expect the same if they had sackboy in blackface or had a burning nativity scene. This game is for family fun.
- darkcthulhu, on 10/19/2008, -0/+5You're better than me, I have zero tolerance for any religion. I wonder how many "Qur'an" levels will show up in the user created areas. I know I'll be making a bunch.
- sodade, on 10/19/2008, -0/+4I think it should be an international law that any fairy sky god belief system is fair game for mockery. If you have a problem with being ridiculed for faith in things you have no proof of, then you don't have much faith do you?
- staticneuron, on 10/19/2008, -1/+1Well there is nothing stopping the user created levels are there? I am just saying I understand and respect what Sony is doing. I don't push my moral beliefs on others ( I am an athiest) so I cannot really just say because it doesn't offend me it shouldn't offend anyone. That is not a sign of tolerance or understanding.
- apena89, on 10/19/2008, -1/+4Man *****...***** ANYBODY who complains about that *****! If you don't like that *****, dont buy the ***** game! easy as that! Now I and millions of other gamers have to wait for this game to come out later because these Muslim assholes just want to make a huge deal about it! ***** RELIGION, ***** YOUR BIBLE! Get the ***** over it and let us "Athiests" play our ***** game!
- apena89, on 10/19/2008, -0/+4And when I think about it, I am offended because I have to wait. What about me? I'm sure there are more people "offended" by the delay than there are offended by this ridiculous controversy.
- GreyICE, on 10/19/2008, -0/+5On the other hand, when was the last time you ever shot someone or blew up an office because a game offended you?
Islam has a different track record...

- GregIsLegend, on 10/18/2008, -3/+5No. Theirs and every other religion is strictly anti-fun
- staticneuron, on 10/19/2008, -0/+2I understand now, the nature of those that hide behind word yet cannot really understand tolerance. Saying it doesn't offend me so it shouldn't offend you is not tolerance. I wish all the people that digg down my comments can at least be truthful. You hate. It could be Islam, Christianity or even all of the religions but people here hate. But in the end it is all talk and and feelings. No one is actually combating those who commit acts of violence in the name of religion or hate.
Nothing is worse than a bunch of loud cowards.
- Minyall, on 10/18/2008, -0/+9Has the Muslim community actually said anything about this, or is everyone just assuming they'll be pissed?
- neFariou5, on 10/18/2008, -1/+2The same thing happened to Hitman: Silent Assassin. There were some really cool levels that got pulled and the game was re-released without them. Thanks to piracy for allowing me to get the original non-truncated version.
- staticneuron, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3Hitman: Silent Assassin contreversy were about sikhs not muslims.
There was one odd post about it in the forums. No threats, no chanting, no big deal. but they typical knee jerk reaction based off of complete ignorance has the geeky armada up in arms.
I am not a fan of religions but I really hate Bigots more. - Minyall, on 10/19/2008, -0/+2So basically everyone's gone "OMG they're Muslims so they'll go mental and kill everyone!!"... ok, just so I have that straight.
- ociris, on 10/20/2008, -0/+0It was a muslim play tester who brought it up. He brought it up because he knows its going to offend a small percentage of the muslim community. Unfortunately that small percentage carries bombs around their waste.
- sion2119, on 10/29/2008, -0/+1Everyone assuming they are pissed. This all started by a single poster on SONY forums....A SINGLE POSTER.
Yes digg is very ignorant.
- ociris, on 10/20/2008, -1/+0WTH. Why can't the middle east get their own version of LBP (without the offensive song), and let the rest of us enjoy it the way it was original designed. People complain that western culture is invading the whole world... What the hell do you call this kind of invasion?
- PEMDAS, on 10/18/2008, -11/+6New COD sucks, stick with Infinity Ward.
- forcedfx, on 10/18/2008, -2/+10Have you played it? I've watched multiplayer previews and it looks ok. I just wish it was modern :( I'm tired of WWII. Overall, I think COD4 will wind up being better. COD5 just looks like COD4 with new maps... hopefully I'm wrong.
- PEMDAS, on 10/18/2008, -0/+2I have played the beta, and it's not impressive. I asked people what they thought about it, and nobody said anything except "I wish it was like in COD4 so that blah blah blah " or "COD4's better"... I pretty much agree with everything you said. I'd rather play the best FPS around (COD4's still doing exceptionally well, I'm assuming) than DOWNGRADE to the newest installment in the Call Of Duty line.
Call of Duty flip-flops developers so they can crank out games... My advice, and the advice you'll start hearing more and more after the game comes out: Save your money for the next game done by Infinity Ward.

- Jorlock, on 10/18/2008, -3/+6I just got started on the beta. The multplayer is basically a improved version of COD4, which is good.
The best part, Jack Bauer yelling "RELEASE THE HOUNDS!"... way better than the helicopter. - Dainjah, on 10/18/2008, -3/+1How does it suck? It is basically CoD4 with a WWII skin.

But I imagine a lot of christians would be upset if their video game had muslim scripture in the background music....

- OpNash, on 10/18/2008, -4/+19Its not exactly the game creators fault. Its the fault of a group of people that simply take offense to anything that may reference their religion in a slightly negative light.
- Valyn, on 10/18/2008, -1/+2regardless of religion, didn't you hear the translation? The media is just trying to spin it that direction...
- JudgeMonkey, on 10/19/2008, -0/+2For those not feeling like looking it up, from kotaku:
Every soul shall have the taste of death
All that is on earth will perish
Wow, taken out of context that kinda seems like a violent way of life, but of course you could EASY do the same with the bible and I'm sure the Torah. However I'm way too lazy to bother trying. - xaxxon, on 10/19/2008, -0/+1and a society that freaks out whenever anyone may get offended. Of course, some people in this religion will blow up your building for offending them..
- Fremen93, on 10/21/2008, -0/+1Uhm, did any group of people complain? Did any muslims complain???
I am pretty sure it would be christians complaining about muslim scripture in their kid's video games.
- TheKitchenSinkX, on 10/18/2008, -2/+14I have trouble understanding how many Muslims who would be offended would actually play this game on launch day. Like, five? Couldn't they just patch it? I'm very unhappy with this, but I'm please it's probably only like six days more. After two years or so of waiting, that's a drop in the bucket.
- Coolkid11, on 10/18/2008, -7/+27***** religion, especially Islam, for getting butthurt over every freaking thing.

- jmask5, on 10/18/2008, -2/+11The game is not even out. Unless Muslims get special extra early copies that no one else does. They realized their mistake on their own. Even if it did come out I doubt any Extremist Muslims would have played it because they don't have electricity in caves.

- Wisgary, on 10/18/2008, -4/+5Why are people jumping to the conclusions that it is islamic groups getting offended? The ***** game has a song that has lyrics about death and everyone will die and blah blah and this is being marketed as a game for everyone.
- JudgeMonkey, on 10/19/2008, -0/+2Because it's just so much easier to blame a Religious group. Especially one that we in the Western world (and well whatever parts aren't predominantly Islamic) don't understand so well. If it was a quote about peace and love and they still got in a tizzy, then I'd tell them to go die, but it ain't.
I'll admit right now I fell for it too until I found out what the lyrics were. I was right along with everyone else, just believing what I was told, saying how much they suck. - dienaked, on 10/20/2008, -0/+1Maybe because of the email to SCEA, a part of which says:
"We Muslims consider the mixing of music and words from our Holy Quran deeply offending. We hope you would remove that track from the game immediately via an online update, and make sure that all future shipments of the game disk do not contain it."
- JudgeMonkey, on 10/19/2008, -0/+2Because it's just so much easier to blame a Religious group. Especially one that we in the Western world (and well whatever parts aren't predominantly Islamic) don't understand so well. - sathias, on 10/18/2008, -0/+8I reckon it is a lot more likely the game was pulled because they were afraid of insulting non-muslims. Do you think parents would be pleased to find out the game they bought their kid contained "muslim propaganda"?
- Fremen93, on 10/21/2008, -0/+1Exactly.
When I first heard about this story, I assumed it was some christians offended at muslim scripture in their game...I was really surprised to hear they're blaming it on muslims.
- Fremen93, on 10/21/2008, -0/+1Exactly.

- BattleScars, on 10/18/2008, -0/+4I just had the image of a guy committing a suicide bombing over his outrage at a game about sock people in a magical dream world.
- PEMDAS, on 10/18/2008, -1/+3Why defend the new COD? You're hopefully not going to buy it (I preemptively at your frivolous purchase if you do), so why waste time trying to get others to give it a shot? My money's absolutely and positively going to Fallout 3, Gears of War 2, and any other game I deem to be stand-out in the next 3 months.
Infinity Ward did a kick-ass job on COD4, but that's what sold the game; the fact that it was an excellent gameplay experience from Infinity Ward, not the fact that it's under the title Call of Duty. Different developers do things differently... and if you've watched, played, or heard about the beta you shouldn't be impressed like the first time you came in contact with COD4, which should just be rereleased under the title GOD. - trunks6008, on 10/18/2008, -2/+2you idiots, their not recalling soul calibur 4.

Seriously Namco, get your collective head out of your collective ass. While your at stop price gouging your iPhone games, if Pac-Man is $5 on XBLA and iPod it shouldn't cost twice as much for the iPhone version. Most of the early release games have already dropped in price, so follow suit you greedy *****!
