I'm starting to think this huge delay was to create the DS and cellphone versions and had nothing to do with the PC version at all. At least they're using this time to polish the PC version so it'll be near-perfect when it comes out.

"Spore Creatures begins with your character's friend being abducted by aliens."
Just like they ***** up the Sims2 for the DS. I do not buy Maxis games because I want a predefined storyline. That premise is completely counter to the philosophy of a simulation game.- Ozzimo, on 02/14/2008, -3/+1Sounds to me like you just don't like DS games... greater problem perhaps?
- dietprozac, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1Oh no, I love DS games. Mario Kart, New Mario, FF3, Yoshi's Island.. all great! Plus it's handy for studying Japanese- picked up the Japanese version of Zelda while I was living over there. I was just really disappointed with Sims2-DS, and this one looks like it's going to have similar problems.

For some reason developers like to take a perfectly complete game and tack on an overly cutesy, incredibly wordy story that you have to flip through for 10 minutes before you can play any DS game. Aren't portable games supposed to fill your few free minutes with gaming goodness?

It's misleading and greedy. Most of us here on digg understand this happens and know that it isn't the same game, but I feel bad for people who go into a store and buy this thinking its Spore because all they have is a DS. If you want to make a DS game, make a standalone DS game! Don't make a crappy game and stamp your name on it so people will be misled into buying it.
