By the way, wouldn't Wii sports be one of the top ones on this list since it comes with every Wii sold? - betterth, on 01/18/2008, -0/+6It's a situation of numbers. A single AAA PS3 game has to sell to twice as many of it's adopters as the Xbox. It's easier for the other consoles to top the list when they have significantly more units sold in the US.
Sometimes we get caught up in the global numbers, but in the US, the 360 still dominates.
America's console numbers:
Xbox360: 10.5m
Wii: 8.7m
PS3. 3.4m
So, no, unless the PS3 begins routinely selling double and triple the 360 for the entire year, it won't top a list of most games sold simply because it's so much harder to sell a game to 1/2 of your install base when the same amount of sales is 1/8 of another consoles install base. - KingGoonie, on 01/18/2008, -2/+8Which is what was said at the beginning of 2007

Then again, I guess it explains why Nintendo is "reimagining" series like Advance Wars while Mario Party has nearly a dozen entries and it has hardly changed at all. LAST January everyone was pointing to Lair, Heavenly Sword as the huge newcomers.... Plus you had Ratched & Clank, and multiplatform games like Guitar Hero 3, COD4, and Assassins Creed... those ARE big titles. Or were supposed to be.
I think its funny that a title that was supposed to be big, but wasn't, specifically Lair, automatically now was never a big title. -
