- byronm, on 10/10/2007, -16/+57I've already pre-ordered. All of the latest press release, videos and screen shots have only re-enforced by belief this game will simply kick ass and justify its looooooooong wait.
- HappyScrappy, on 10/10/2007, -10/+40This article is from May. And it turned out not to be true. There were only 1M preorders as of August, so there were clearly not 4M in May.

Buried as inaccurate. - Hoinah, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17yeah because wanting a game that looks good is being a fanboy. "Would you kindly" crawl back into the cave you came from to *****?

Halo 3..flop? I think Hell will freeze over first - lukewind, on 10/10/2007, -3/+16Don't feed the Sony Fanboy logicalnoise. The are a very hungry species they have been without food since November 2006!
- logicalnoise, on 10/10/2007, -6/+17did you mean in quality? because uh well anyone who's played the beta knows that if your going in expecting halo + a bit more then it's fufills every expectation.
- martyFREEDOM, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14"Many of Gamestop’s employees believe that a large portion of the preorders are being made by consumers that don’t even own a Xbox 360, that are just waiting for the price of the system to go down."
Yep, I preordered the legendary edition after it became available and I don't own a 360. - Comanche, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14MAY 2007! Burried.
- revenge7, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Why do you shop at Gamestop/EB Games? Do you LIKE getting raped?
- TheXeno, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10It's crazy how ho-hum that sounded. Just part of the experience eh?
- NeoCortex, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10It's always possible to find a game on release day if you don't mind possibly having to check a few stores. On the other hand, there is absolutely no reason not to pre-order if you know you'll be getting it. I reserved my copy of the Legendary edition at Gamestop last November. I know that on release day, I can just walk in there, pay it off, and walk out with the game with no concern of whether or not I'll be able to find it.
- logicalnoise, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10not on big release games but others like GH and Katamari Damacy suffered from a lot of supply issues because pre-orders just didn't offer much of a warning to the publishers.
- dunlop, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9I really don't care if it is the "Best Game of All Time". I don't even see how the campaign mode will be better than Bioshock (GOTY for me, hands down). What Halo 3 will be is an EVENT. Personally myself and my buddies are getting a copy at midnight, taking the day off of work, setting up via our LAN that we currently use for Halo1 and will drink beer andcontribute to the crashing of the LIVE servers that will never be able to handle the strain. Afterwards play the campaign mode and then have a kick ass multiplayer game to play for months to come.
Well worth the $60 - strictnein, on 10/10/2007, -4/+12No, one million was not announced in may, one million was announced recently.
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/08/13/halo_3_million_preorders/
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Halo 3 has reached one million pre-orders in North America alone, making it the fastest selling pre-ordered game in history. Over a month before it's set to hit shelves, the eagerly-awaited title has set a new precedent for the video games market, according to Microsoft.
"What we've experienced is nothing short of phenomenal," said Bob McKenzie, senior vice president of merchandising at games retailer GameStop, in Microsoft's press release. "Halo 3 has eclipsed many previous records and will prove to be one of the must-have items of 2007."
------------------------------------------------------------------------
With a quote from a Gamestop VP. Now, from the dugg article:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to Gamestop officials, over four million preorders have been made for Halo 3 on Xbox 360.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
See an issue here? - totorototoro, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Is that worldwide? Or just the US?
- jonnyeh, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8I checked out Halo and Halo 2. Is that enough?
- strictnein, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6What's wrong here is that you fail at simple logic:
NA: Around 6 million Xbox 360s and ~1 million Halo 3 preorders
The rest of the world: 3.75 million Xbox 360s and 3 million Halo 3 preorders???
I RTFA. Thanks. Learn to use some ***** logic next time. - Myonosken, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9No I don't. RTFA you linked too. One million in NORTH AMERICA ALONE. Four million in total. What's wrong there?
- EXreaction, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Probably EB games or Gamestop. Both are ***** and are known to sell more preorders than the stock they are getting without letting you know.
- SSCrow, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Maybe its because Bungie makes great games, like Marathon, and Myth.
- kevindoc, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I would agree but I preordered Bioshock (from amazon) and on the release date it was sitting waiting for me when I got home. It was nice to be able to jump right into it when I got home instead of running out to the store.
- nickj6282, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5In all seriousness, I'm trying to figure out why there are so many Halo-haters out there. Is it just the "in" thing to hate on popular games like Halo? Please answer honestly: have you ever played Halo or Halo 2? If so, did you just play once for a few minutes or did you really get in-depth with the game?
- s1mph0ny, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I think you meant to say genre.
- Hoinah, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6now there is. There have been many Gamesotp exclusive Collector's Editions lately, and I can tell in all our shipments of bioshock combined we had one extra of each Pc and 360 collector's editions. So yeah pre-ordering is useless if you either dont want the collector's editions or dont mind paying exorbitant ebay prices for it.
- Konrad9, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Unless you want the absurdly expensive Spartan Helmet.
- genericwhiteguy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Probably because the poor grammar and spelling in your post make it incomprehensible...
- Wargalas, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7I don't pre-order anything anymore after I fell for the standard ***** of "if you pre-order, you're guaranteed your item" and I didn't get my item. I had to wait like any other idiot who didn't preorder and it REALLY pissed me off.
- navster15, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5For the record, I pre-ordered because my local retailer (Future Shop in Canada) is offering free Halo 3 t-shirts and hats for reserving the game. Normally, I don't fall for the pre-order *****, but I can never say no to free schwag!
- GinaJuice, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4"Dear consumer whores,
Thanks for the millions of dollars in interest-free loans.Thats where the real money is. Your pre-order will insure you get a copy, unless of course we run out."
-GameStop/EB - kevindoc, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4wow...you really missed the point on that one. I'm aware that it was available in stores...the point was it was waiting for me at home without the need to go to the store = very convenient.
- Rileyper, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Fred meyers is a family branch of kroger
GOOGLE IT!!! - samdu, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5This "4 million preorders" thing was debunked long ago. The last confirmed figure was a bit over a million.
- m4szyman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3LOL you mean that super cool "I-PWN" t-shirt they're advertising in the flyers? Futureshop would have to pay me to wear that
- logicalnoise, on 10/10/2007, -5/+8Just read the books. Even if you've never played the games they are great scifi novels.I have my copy of halo 3 pre ordered as well.
- SnuKs, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Funny how DSEZ submitted a non negative story about Halo 3 a while back making it seemed like he actually cared for the game. Why all the hate now?
I swear fanboys are what's wrong with gaming today. I hope you know DSEZ that jizz stains void your PS3 warranty - logicalnoise, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3http://www.xbox360rally.com/halo-3-18-minutes-of-game-play-spoiler-altert-and-a-half/
I set the torrent up just before I left for work I can't wait to watch it. - ksong12, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7Saw that 14 minute game video today... dang, it looks nice.
- jordanlund, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Fred Meyer's or "Freddies" is a NorthWest chain. Imagine a Target with a full blown grocery department, a garden center and a home improvement center (paint, plumbing, tools, electrical) and you're pretty close.
Picked up my 360 on launch day there. No problems. Did the same with my Xbox and my PSP. - sjbdallas, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yeah, but as soon as it get's fixed........
- louiedog, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Look at the number of 360 consoles sold worldwide and compare it to the number in NA alone. Tell me that 3x as many sold in the rest of the world doesn't seem off.
- stillmitch, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I think it will. I wasn't planning on getting a 360 until a few weeks ago when I realized how bad I'm going to want to play this game.
- knetworx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Agreed. With enough hype and a solid history, Microsoft could sell Halo 3 as nothing but a screen that loads up at the beginning saying, "Haha, sucks to be you!" That would be a terrible game, but it would still have all the pre-orders...it just wouldn't sell any more copies after people had played it. I do think Halo 3 will be pretty cool, but I don't think it will be much better than Halo 2, except for new content. I will get it though, if for no other reason than the fact that all my friends will be playing it, and my copy of Halo 2 will basically be worthless at that point.
- ksong12, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Sorry, here it is:
http://www.xbox360rally.com/halo-3-18-minutes-of-game-play-spoiler-altert-and-a-half/
But warning: the Hi-Res Torrent is 1.3 Gigs :) - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4that's why it'll go down fast
- rude0197, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Story is from MAY proved to be innacurate Buried
- Crashwithuhk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Interesting statement considering I've never had any interest in the Halo series at all and I own a 360. I also happen to know a few people who want a 360 but are waiting for Halo to pick it up, so while it may not be a huge number, I think it'll sell some units.
- AvidPreatorian, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4HALO for life, i dont care about any other game this year. i dont even care about other consoles, my parents, my little sister who's half blind, or any anything else. Halo, forever, i love it, i always will. i love it more than my aunt Gabriela, or my grandma Louis. they can both burn as long as i get my playing time with Halo. i hate my dad, but i love halo. everything sucks. except halo 3.
- techmaster, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Just indecipherable.
- stappawho, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Is this where everyone posts about how Halo is unoriginal and console gaming sucks?
