- spidoman, on 10/12/2007, -21/+7Woah! Sweet trailer. I can't wait to not be able to do any of that in game! And have the game look nothing like that. Come on, if you are making a movie you show footage in your trailer that may at least make it into the movie. It's simply another reason for fanboys to be excited. The average joe consumer does not care that halo 3 is coming out in a year. I can't wait for Bungie and Microsoft to trick people into believing that lots of hype means good quality. They made an average game like Halo 2 appear to be the best game ever. Maybe with Halo 3 they can make a piss poor game and make everyone believe it's their lord and savior.
I'm going to go play Half-life 2.
- SirBotchness, on 10/12/2007, -46/+11Saw this commercial on TV, twas good *****. If someone donates me an XBOX 360 i'd be more than happy to buy this game.
- ilyag, on 10/12/2007, -69/+9Why do you say that? They didn't advertise any games in that commercial.
The commercial is a 3D short animated film featuring the character from the Halo franchise. It has as much to do with Halo 3 as it does with Halo 1. Wanting to get Halo 3 after watching this short film is equivalent to wanting to buy the Open Season videogames after seeing the movie "Open Season". - betterth, on 10/12/2007, -6/+65@ilyag
Just like if you see one of those Infiniti commercials where the G35 is driving along a brush stroke. I mean, clearly that's fake. You're only seeing a stylized version of the car driving sideways and around weird bends as a giant paintbrush suddenly swipes around and makes a road.
Or a Mac commercial with Justin Long. He is clearly not a Mac. They really don't show any computers... at all. Not once. Just two guys talking.
Just like these examples, you're seeing a stylized version of the game.
In case you didn't know, some times companies make commercials to raise awareness of a future or current product, to generate hype, without necessarily showing off the product itself.
Edit: And for the record, legions of fans wanted to see the Halo movie that isn't even in production, based solely off their experience of the game. So nyeh. - Nobi-Wan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+39@ betterth
You're also forgetting about the PS3 Killzone 2 trailer from E3. That was obviously stylized. If Sony had released this commercial for one of their games you can bet their ass they'd claim it as "real, actual gameplay." At least Bungie and Microsoft don't think of their consumers as retards. - ilyag, on 10/12/2007, -39/+5"Just like these examples, you're seeing a stylized version of the game."
No, I'm not seeing ANY version of the game, stylized or otherwise. At least with car commercials, you're seeing the actual car. At least with the Mac commercials, you're seeing them discuss the product. Here? No discussion, no game. Just a movie. A movie that is not just unrelated to the game, but shows nothing FROM the game.
With car commercials, a product is being demonstrated. With Mac commercials, a product is being discussed. With CG videogame commercials, neither is true. All they are are short animated films. That's it. The fact that you're too blind to see it and, in fact, accept it as "normal" shows just how pathetic today's advertising industry is.
At least back in the 80s, they weren't embarrassed to show actual gameplay footage of Super Mario and Pac Man. Today, because of people like you, they are. - afex, on 10/12/2007, -3/+41"shows nothing FROM the game."
- MChief
- warthog
- assault rifle
- shield grenade
- brutes
and i'm not even a fanboy, so there's probably a million things more i missed - SourWorm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14Not to mention that the "movie" as you are calling it has everything to do with the story of the game.
- ilyag, on 10/12/2007, -36/+9Well, since I'm being buried into infinity, all I can say is this:
I'm glad that there are sites like gametrailers.com around where, besides the short animated films, they have high-resolution GAMEPLAY footage. Unlike most of you, I will be making my purchasing decisions based on how fun the game looks when it's being played by a human being, and how cool it looks. You, it seems, will be content with the kinds of animated commercials that made Final Fantasy 7 such a huge success in the 90s. - Eicos, on 10/12/2007, -17/+5Betterth, the mac commercials don't feature Justin Long (b-list nobody). They feature John Hodgson (funny as hell literary contributor). Pshaw.
- stung47000, on 10/12/2007, -11/+17@ilyag
Have you even been to gametrailers.com? The commercial is front paged there. Quit drinking that Hateoraid. - ilyag, on 10/12/2007, -25/+8stung47000:
Go back to my post and read the first sentence. It includes this collection of words: "...besides the short animated films..."
Next time you try to flame someone, make sure you read their post first. - TheThirdWheel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+44" "shows nothing FROM the game."
- MChief
- warthog
- assault rifle
- shield grenade
- brutes
and i'm not even a fanboy, so there's probably a million things more i missed "
I am a fanboy and here are some other clues in the trailer:
-Assault Rifle (already known)
-Halo CE Pistol (That is not a magnum)
-The enemies he jumps on are Brutes (upgraded Brutes apparently, they are all armored)
-A New Brute Cheiftan is shown with a hammer, he is also heavily armored
-The kids in the beginning of the video are most likely John and probably Kelly from the Halo novels. Bungie said they gave the studio who made this commercial material from the novels. I think it's from when John and Kelly went AWOL and spent time on that island
-The Sargeant is still alive as he can be heard clearly in the commercial
-Cortana is still alive as she can be heard saying "Cheif leave" very quietly after he puts his helmet back on.
-Vehicle he was driving is the new Mongoose ATV, it's not the warthog.
-There is a huge mushroom cloud in the background, and it looks like it may be the same locale as the first Halo 3 trailer.
Well that's it so far. - steven401, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2^^^
Except that it says 'Halo 3' at the end? - Arkz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Nice one TheThirdWheel, i had it cranked up pretty high on my Logitech Z-5500
I heard what i also presume to be Kelly saying "time to go" at about 28, straight after that Cortana says "Chief! Leave me!"
Some silly people on the Bungie forums are like "eh but Cortana's with the Gravemind" and I'm like... uhhh... she said leave me so obviously shes not there with him, probably a memory from when he leavers her on High Charity... hopefully she will be with him again in the game at some point... i like having her around, makes it better... anyway, anything else we missed? anyone? - Gryfft, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14@ilyag
In further rebuttal, if you'd kept up with Bungie's weekly updates, you'd know that the reason they decided on the CG trailer is because time taken to put together a gameplay trailer takes time directly out of their development time. Combined with the facts that they're still tweaking gameplay and up-resing all the textures and that some elements of the gameplay aren't final yet, it's what is essentially a short film about Halo with some hints toward Halo 3 gameplay... seems perfectly acceptable to me. ESPECIALLY since they're not trying to play it off as in-game footage in any way. - rstarr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@Thirdwheel
Also, bungie was taking a poll recently on if you'd like to have a female character for the lady killers...
My guess is that we just saw her. - evilrobotmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8"anyway, anything else we missed? anyone?"
the only other thing i saw was when he put the weapon on his back. you can now see all the players secondary weapons on their backs. i think it's already known, but i still think that's cool. - Arkz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Just noticed this-
@TheThirdWheel
"-Vehicle he was driving is the new Mongoose ATV, it's not the warthog."
Mongoose is smaller and doesnt have a Tow Cable on the front... the vehicle in the trailer did... it WAS a Warthog - Arkz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5ok we were both right.. it shows both vehicles.. when he gets up and the camera goes around him you see a warthog, then when i sets off the shield and the camera goes back you see the mongoose....
- devindotcom, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Oh my god. I can't believe you guys are digging down Ilyag. Ilyag, you are of course completely correct. You people are watching a short movie based on the game. It is not indicative of the actual game at all, except that characters and such are shared. This is not the game. Sorry Ilyag, I feel for you, and you said everything I would have. Fight on, brother!
- estvir, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@devindotcom
We freaking know it's not indicative of gameplay (Other than of items we may see in Halo3 as it's using INGAME models and nothing in there was allowed without Bungie's consent).
Bungie is just building hype and they made it extremely clear that it isn't indicative of gameplay.
Please just be quiet and ilyag too, you're both completely wrong.
- ilyag, on 10/12/2007, -69/+9Why do you say that? They didn't advertise any games in that commercial.

http://www.mediafire.com/?fnj4mzmzxjm - Phyltre, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3@theanticrust: The kids are live action. If you had read Bungie's teaser to this commercial, you would know that the commercial was going to contain live action.
- deluxndotcom, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Another link, if the original goes down. This is the HD-res version. Just click to download.
- TheThirdWheel, on 10/12/2007, -17/+6I understand why they had the live action kids at the beginning, but I think it was a bad choice. The fact that it had no gameplay at all makes sense since their graphics engine isn't complete, but I think it is a bad choice.
Basically they have to get that commercial out there so people know Halo 3 is coming when they make their choice between 360/wii/PS3 this holiday season, so they hired someone to make a CGI Halo clip.
That being said the shield grenade friggen rocked.- TheBarge, on 10/12/2007, -16/+2"it includes a mixture of live action and computer generated animation"
I'm sure everything but the beginning with the kids was actually rendered with the Halo3 engine. I don't think it was a bad decision at all. I want to see anything and everything I can about the upcoming Halo3. Personally, I didn't like Halo2, the graphics didn't seem much better than the original Halo IMHO. So I'm really looking forward to an awesome looking 360 upgrade. - Jaymoon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I happen to remember that it was going to be on just minutes befored it aired. As soon as it started playing, I thought to myself "Oh, I bet this is it"... sure enough.
I'm no big fan of Halo, but it looked pretty cool. But as you pointed out TheThirdWheel, no gameplay, so you can't judge the game at all yet. - rossbrown, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I'm pretty sure those kids weren't live action.
If you were to have seen this commercial without knowing it was for Halo, would the contrast between the two scenes not have surprised you? I think that's why they put it in there. I thought it was a cool effect.
Keep in mind this is a commercial to PROMOTE the game, not showcase it - inajeep, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7It wasn't rendered with the halo 3 engine however the graphics and elements that were animated were from Bungie.
- knodi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4The trailer at E3 was INGAME, and the game is about a year away give them time they'll show more at E3 or what ever show we have next year.
- JohnyD, on 10/12/2007, -26/+2Agreed. This was a lousy MS attempt to wow youngsters with an obvious CGI trailer. Halo 3 will look great... but not this great. If you believe this was created using the actual engine... then you are an idiot. Period.
re: TheBarge
...you are the idiot of whom I speak... - TheBarge, on 10/12/2007, -16/+12@JohnyD
"If you believe this was created using the actual engine... then you are an idiot."
Did you see the first trailer released for the game? They stated it was done using the game engine. The graphics in that first trailer seem to be the same quality as the portion of this video after the he puts the helmet on. Not only that, they call parts of it "live action." How would you define live action?
"...you are the idiot of whom I speak..."
I'm an idiot for being able to comprehend what I read? This article specifically says "live action" and computer generated animation. You're an idiot for your lack of reading comprehension. - theanticrust, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11I don't believe any of it was rendered with the Halo 3 engine. The lighting and particle effects are way too good.
And the kids at the beginning are CG, very good CG but CG. - JohnyD, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3re: TheBarge
"I'm an idiot for being able to comprehend what I read?"
No, no... not at all. You're an idiot for "believing" what you read.
Cheers! - radda, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8"Not only that, they call parts of it "live action." How would you define live action?"
...real people? As in the two kids at the beginning? Because they were certainly real people, even a blind person could see that. The rest of the trailer was all CG, Frankie said so (http://www.bungie.net/News/TopStory.aspx?cid=9182 ). True, the Hollywood studio that put it together used Bungie's assets and character models and the like, but it was all prerendered, not running in any kind of game engine at all. - JohnyD, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2but...but... TheBarge said it was real! :'(
- TheBarge, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6"but...but... TheBarge said it was real! :'("
Reading comprehension is your friend:
"The graphics in that first trailer seem to be the same quality as the portion of this video after the he puts the helmet on."
"Seems to be" is the operative phrase. The quality of the last part of the trailer looked (IMHO, read that closely) to be just as good as the original trailer, which was done using the game engine. As the article radda posted (thanks radda for the info btw) says, they used the CG due to time constraints, but still used their own models (polished of course). - TheThirdWheel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Just to clarify, Bungie has stated that there is no game engine whatsoever used in this commercial. They hired an outside studio to produce the commercial in a mix of live action and CG. Their game MAY look this good, after seeing Gears of War anything is possible, but this is not that game. No reason to debate Bungie said it has NO in game clips.
- TheBarge, on 10/12/2007, -16/+2"it includes a mixture of live action and computer generated animation"
- oncomouse, on 10/12/2007, -35/+12Halo is a totally decent franchise, but it is little more than that. I don't understand why everyone thinks it is simply the greatest thing ever.
Please don't digg down, I enjoy Halo. I just don't think it's anything special.- knodi, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Cus Halo his a epic story line and most of all HALO is PURE FUN.
- afex, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18why do you need to understand?
a lot of people love halo, and you don't happen to. not a whole lot more to understand. its just like anything else, 'star wars is just a movie', 'lotr is just some books', etc. - cantankerous, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5It's about the story! They're everywhere!
- dkleehammer, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Dugg down for asking me not too.
- devindotcom, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3but the game itself - it's so ... mediocre! I acknowledge the story and scope, but the GAME is what I don't like.
- mrRB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dugg down because comment is irrelevant. Now, if the thread was actually about flaws and strengths in the series, or the hype about it in general, it would be justified. But it's about this specific trailer. Good day, sir.
- mypenis, on 10/12/2007, -14/+3great. this movie told me nothing really important.
i hope they didn't pay too much for that spot because it may as well been a youtube ad. Come to think of it, they wouldn't have had to spend ANYTHING for that spot if it was put on youtube. - knodi, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4I cried when I watched this. MC sure looked pissed and did you see the ATV. Crazy. O and that crazy shield grenade.
- cantankerous, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17Frog blast the vent core!
- Tycho7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Old school represent!
- JohnyD, on 10/12/2007, -24/+5WOW.... totally burried for being another stupid ass CG trailer. I have absolutly no interest in what the game "doesn't" look or play like. Keep this sort of crap for the movie... if you ever find someone to make it for you.
That being said... I am really looking forward to playing the "actual" game... signed up for the free public beta last night.... traffic was horrible but managed to get through.- cantankerous, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Why whine bitch moan and complain? Contribute something positive for the love of Pete. You know the game-play will be ass-kicking.. the graphics will be killer.. the story will catch you off your guard and Bungie will please you in the end.
- JohnyD, on 10/12/2007, -16/+2re: cantankerous
In case you hadn't noticed... this digg isn't about game-play, graphics, OR story. It's about an HD ad for Halo 3 and it's not even using the in-game engine. XBL is WAY too full of cinematic trailers and I'm sick of it.
Now go chain your hippi ass back to your redwood you tree-huggin retard.... and keep lovin Pete whilst you're at it. ;) - Blizaine, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2FYI: a buddy of mine contributed to the production of this trailer and from the moment after he puts his helmet on, it is RT.
They fact that so many people are bitching about this being all CG is actually a complement to Bungie. - TheThirdWheel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Blizaine, you are so busted. Bungie has said it's not in game engine, you don't have a friend who worked on it, or he lied to you to make you look silly. If you need proof, this was posted on Bungie.net by Frankie who is their PR guy:
#
The commercial is a mix of CG and Live Action.
#
It is not supposed to represent gameplay.
#
It is supposed to show pure action from the Halo universe. Think of it like the Graphic Novel.
#
It was made by Hollywood effects house, Digital Domain.
#
Digital Domain did base its stuff on our in-game 3D models.
#
It is packed full of clues and stuff.
#
It is nifty.
- Stevethegreat, on 10/12/2007, -26/+6Halo: the most overrated series ever. Just because it is the only decent FPS to hit the consoles, it immediately became legend, I wanted to see it in the PC arena amongst the other beasts. Thanx god that FPS like Crysis are being released all the time for the PC, reminding to PC-owners who are the ones enjoying the best quality.
- StorkPKP, on 10/12/2007, -11/+5Crysis....HAHAHAHA
- JohnyD, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I'm still not over Halo not being a PC exclusive... yeah.... that goes back quite awhile.
- Stevethegreat, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2"Hahaha" what?
- SourWorm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Ok. If that's what you think.
- StorkPKP, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7You actually think Crysis is going to have better game than Halo??? Graphics do not make games, no matter how pretty Crysis is the story looks like crap.
- Stevethegreat, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4If you want story go play an RPG, shooters are being played for pure enjoyment and -no- if there is sth promising about Crysis graphics come last to my list. Destructible environments, nanosuit, customizable weapons, accomplishment of the missions they way you want it to be, alternate endings, what's more can you ask from a shooter?
Still I just wait patiently for Crysis to come out and then judge it, unlike Halo fans for whom Halo III -automatically- is everything best ever to come, they just know it ..... damn - jon61575, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9"I'm still not over Halo not being a PC exclusive... yeah.... that goes back quite awhile."
I believe the original Halo was being developed for the Mac... - nipterink, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1@Stevethegreat: you're right, shooters are played for enjoyment. so why are you bashing console shooters? is it such a sin to want to play a shooter with your friends on your couch without having to make everything feel like a lan party?
- darkseven, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Nice trailer. I Still think the Halo Wars trailer is much better. http://www.halowars.com/trailer.html

- StorkPKP, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0No it is not going to be cross platform.
- tiger2base, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Actually, Halo 2 is going to be released for the PC, not Halo 3. It will only be able to run on windows vista and directx 10 so i hear.

- oncomouse, on 10/12/2007, -20/+4Man, this game sure does look neat!
I get to shoot aliens... from a first person perspective!
I mean, I could shoot aliens from a third person perspective in Gears of War, but I can't wait to play a game in the first person where I get to shoot aliens. Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?
Seriously, I'm getting sick of this.
What do you want to play?
Halo 3
GTA 4
Gran Turismo 5
Final Fantasy 13
SSX 4
Splinter Cell 4
Quake 4
Tony Hawk 8
Metroid Prime 3
Pokemon 57
Mario Party 7
Time Splitters 4
Notice a trend here?
I've played these games before, I don't need to play them again.- SourWorm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Yeah! Hell, why even play any game past the first level or the first few minutes. You've already experienced the game so why play it any more?
- Eicos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Oncomouse, I like your name, but your point is baseless. For people who really enjoy the combination of mechanics that constitutes a certain game, a sequel can be a way of getting more of that without having to repeat the same content. For example, the game I'm playing right now, Total Annihilation, had a sequel, the Core Contingency. Okay, so they added new units. But the campaign was ten times better than the original game, even though it was only half the length. New content = new experience.
- PacoDG, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Aw damn, now why did you have to go and put Time Splitters on that list, I was going to digg your comment up :(
(Random: Earthbound / Mother, a pixel from a picture taken with a phone cam for anything on anything to do with that game and Wii, hell, maybe even Virtual Console. Instant wood over anything having to do with just about any other game out right now.) - oncomouse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2There's nothing wrong with sequels. I love KoTOR and KoTOR II, for example. I think some of this is overdone though. I feel that some franchises are getting milked. Tony Hawk project 8 is the 8th Tony Hawk game in what, 9 years or so? That's crazy.
If people want to play them and buy them, the studios will produce them. Maybe I'm jaded, but I like games that offer me something new, something I haven't experienced before. Eternal Darkness was a great game, or even the Prince of Persia games (even though they punded those out too fast). - Electrox3d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4you think you're done when you finish a title. these aren't movies. We get more fun as long as they don't mess with the controls or change any of the real great elements of the game.
There's a reason why everyone still says Goldeneye for N64 is the number one classic shooter out of many many shooters, they got it right. Games like Goldeneye died out because no one could get that same perfection. Halo was the best next to Goldeneye for controls. If halo was just one game, we'd be missing that title just as much as Goldeneye. - adizzy615, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I hate when people compare game sequels to movie sequels.
- Phayde415, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Goosebumps!!
I hope you guys will someday realize that SUPERAWSOM!111 GRFX are not what makes good games. Its the substance thats underneath the cover that makes games truly great after the first 6 hours of playing... Dare I mention recent electronic news that pertain to the selling of something that ends in "3" and it's low-graphic-high-gameplay-value opponent that ends in "ii"?
And if you like epic storytelling (like trilogies such as Matrix, LOTR, Dune, or Star Wars) then I find it hard to believe that you don't LOVE Halo.
What I got from this Trailer was emotional response, the feeling of epic story telling that all those other super-1337 high graphics games seem to spend less time and/or money on these days. And it was only 60 seconds long and didn't show anything of real value! Maybe I'm a halo fanboi afterall......- ulcards2033, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1The movie might look like it would be an epic storyline(like halo 2 trailer did), but the games have a very small, contained storyline.
- avihappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh no, the Halo storyline is VERY DEEP and huge, there are whole sites devoted to the story and every detail.
- LMN8R, on 10/12/2007, -14/+5One big action cliche that does nothing new.
Kinda like the Halo series itself.- oncomouse, on 10/12/2007, -12/+6I couldn't agree more. Halo is fun, but terribly derivative and redundant.
- megamike23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18everyone who says that they dont like halo - please dont buy it on launch, i want to make sure i get my copy
- dkleehammer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1FIY - You can go and reserve at copy at GameStop now.
- Phayde415, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5I can agree with most that the original Halo was hyped up simply because it was the ONLY remotely decent FPS on Xbox. While I do give it merits for having excellent FPS play integrated with vehicles, a feat which I'm STILL waiting for another game to accomplish (if you say Battlefield, I will stab you in the neck! Their FPS is TERRIBLE!).
However, if anyone played through Halo 2, I think you found yourself so immersed in the storytelling that you were wondering whats the answers to the questions they leave unanswered, rather then "wats the uber-final weapon that I get in the last lvl of teh game!??!".- ulcards2033, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Well then you can't say that halo is "integrated with vehicles", because vehicles on halo suck ass.

- RationalAntaxia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5There's a quiet part where it sounds like Cortana is talking to MC and she says,
"Chief, leave!"
what does that mean? I have no idea.
Any one got an idea?- strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4If you actually want to discuss that I'd recommend http://bungie.net
There's plenty of indepth (and insane) ramblings on their forum. - Kinsbane, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1In all honesty, it could be a testament to Cortana battling with her insanity.

- anillop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't know what everyone is bitching about, the trailer is exactly what it says a trailer. No one ever said it was game play footage so why is everyone getting their panties in a bunch about it. The whole point of the trailer is to make people aware of the upcoming product. I think it did a great job of this and it made me even more excited about the upcoming game. I swear some people really need to friggin relax and just enjoy things rather than have a nerd hissy fit whenever something isn't what they want.
- NYC10004, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Microsoft knew ahead of time where Gears would set the bar. Its ignorant to believe that they're Flagship game wouldn't have orders to smash through it. I don't know what Halo 3 is actually going to look like, but seeing as it coming out on XBOX 360 and not XBOX (which it seems some people tend to forget judging from their Halo- Halo 2 comparisons) Its going to be a system seller as well as a must have game. The Multiplayer should be far and above anything weve experience yet. So relax, it was just a promotional video to get you hyped.

- avihappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you have read the half dozen comments saying that Bungie said it was CG only, you wouldn't have been Dugg down!
- mongull, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0this is a long download for me.. wahhhhhhhhh
- therealrico, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I bet the footage, and the gameplay graphics are pretty similar. Gears of war they were pretty close from commercial to actual gameplay, and Bungie is gonna have another year of development to harness everthing the 360 can do. I wouldn't be surprised if what we saw was real close to what we play.
On another note I read you might be able to play with 64 people at one time, and all I can thin of is all the lag that you get from playing with 16 people at one time!
I don't want Halo 3 to come out cause I will get fired from my job, and not make any money!!!! - coldfusion1970, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Damn, that was a cool trailer.
Maybe i will get it for my 360.
But i was doing so well in saving up for GoW :-( - crcurran, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Nice shield device but can I finally run in Halo?
Jun06 trailer rocked with psychotic messages from the disturbed Cortana and the psycho covenant zealots bent on setting off a galactic doomsday device. That trailer had deep meaning.
Dec06 trailer is a childhood flashback for Master Chief, a cool shield grenade and ... umm thats about it. This was fluff. Microsoft wanted something, anything from Bungie to grab attention from the PS3. Glad to see Bungie handed it off to another company to do; they need to finish H3. - The1337Dude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This trailer will also supposedly be shown in 765 different movie theaters across Canada starting December 15th.
- whickywhickyjim, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Boring. Halo was a great game. Halo 2 was crap. Halo 3 will be *****. Instead of double wielding guns, we'll be able to triple wield guns when we play as that stupid plant thing from Halo 2. Great, and now we have shield grenades - how inventive. They get a year to develop another pile of crap with awfully rendered cut scenes. When they get a lot of time to develop, they come up with other peoples ideas like shield grenades and space suits for the elites that are blatant rip offs of the space pirates of metriod. How about making a story that doesn't suck bungie?
Somebody ought to steal halos thunder and remake the FPS alien trilogy from playstation 1 days that Bungie stole 90% of halo from. That would be sweet.- cvh™, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Dude, you know nothing about Bungie. Have you ever played Marathon? And have you ever thought about the fact that Halo was released before Metroid Prime. Halo was first introduced "July 21, 1999, during the Macworld Conference & Expo, Steve Jobs announced that Halo would be released for Mac OS and Windows simultaneously."
while "The first public appearance of the [Metroid Prime] game was a 10-second video at SpaceWorld 2000."

Master Chief is the GIRL in the flashback.- mxcl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You prolly joke, but I think chief has to be the bloke since the last time he glances at the girl she is gone and the helmet is there, and then the surrounding scene changes to the desert area with the helmet still there.
This I think implies chief was having a flashback due to getting knocked out or something and seeing the helmet brings him back to reality. - NYC10004, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Oh no... not that again. I'm so tired of that ("look it's actually a chick") nonsense. An uncomfortable number of guys today are way too effeminate as it is.

- blizzardice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I don't care about all the crap thats been said. The trailer was just plain AWSOME!!!!
- bandhftw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0What shield grenade I thought there were only 3 grenades the human, plasma and the new spike grenade IMHO whats being called the shield grenade is actually What happens when you press and hold X probably be for a limited time like the invisibility for elites in halo 2.
