I love em to death. - dasdef, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15Cool, now i just might have to pick up a PSP slim. I love my psp but its slightly bulky when carrying around. So this is a welcome change for me :)
- Shorties, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7its only 11% thinner, I don't think it would be that noticeable. Though now with twice the ram this should make homebrew interesting.
- ZWarren69, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7The battery does work, they just needed to update the files on the JigKick Stick. How they did it, I do not know.
- TangentThought, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6You're... You're kidding, right?
- fkr3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5My laptop's even bigger than the power supply....
- dasdef, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10i think this one is actually the original thread as it has more than 30 posts- http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=78369
- dagobah77, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5It's 33% LIGHTER, 19% thinner.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6There is, its called pandora's battery.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5It's actually looking good as an alternative to the overpriced iPod Touch, which is $520 in the U.K.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Are you a retard? a normal PSP cant be charged using the usb cord. You have to make a hacked cord with the normal power supply inlet attached to a USB end for doing that.
- dasdef, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5what do you use the IR for? ive never used it for anything yet...
- Shorties, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The slim PSP can be charged via USB now. No power brick.
- VeganG, on 10/10/2007, -0/+250 dollars to mod a game system is not a lot of money. I need a special card, that I paid money for, to homebrew my DS. PSP spoiled you guys, being able to mod without a device of any kind.
- hcl40u, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Use music.prx plugin for playing music while in a game.
- Sterist, on 10/10/2007, -5/+71. what else, remotes. wake up in the morning for a quick game of resistance, on my 58" widescreen which is turned on from my psp. football games (raiders suk!) recorder is turned on by my psp. going to work - turn on the tv in the lunch room with it. going to bed, turn on the 38" a few feet from the bed.
2. this can be done in the background of anything that falls under the slightest category of 'homebrew' :)
3. it can be used for a wireless keyboard on things like the IRC clients, pc emulators (mac, dos, win95, linux, etc.).
4. data transfer between laptop / pc / psp / whatever. eliminates usb needs, and has competitive rates - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Even better. ISO loading FTW. Woohoooohooooohhoooo
- Shorties, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Oh 19% my bad.
- KingGoonie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I just looked up Pandora's Battery... And um you need another homebrew psp to do so. Now of the few people I know who have a psp, they don't even have a clue on what homebrew is... So AGAIN, they should work on hacking the psp 3.51 WITHOUT the need of another psp that already has homebrew.
- KingGoonie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1um JACKASS I did... and it says you need a spare battery... AND A PSP WITH HOMEBREW... Which I nor anyone I know has... Oh.. you mean spend 50 bucks for a pandora's battery on ebay? Um.. NO. I'm looking for a cheap or free solution.. and if there going to do one for PSPlite when it just came out...
And where can I buy one online and return it... - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Except for the fact that it is posted on m33's home page, duhr.
- Daisuke, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I agree with all of the above (I use my Palm Universal Wireless keyboard all the time) except for 4. IrDA is NOT competitive with USB or even AdHoc 802.11b. Have you ever tried to use IrDA? It isn't that great...
- Bense, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1exactly, I can select songs, and adjust the volume for the songs. IR Shell is outdated.
- Daisuke, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1You can borrow a battery from a friend, you can borrow one online and return it, you can buy one (if you're willing to spend money - donate to to Team C+D as well). There are plenty of options, and a Pandora battery is a perfectly good one. Hell, I doubt there's even a great need for a 3.51 downgrader after this. Don't be an ass and look up your options this time.
- Shorties, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1No it can't.
- dasdef, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Haha, not if you custom firmware it.
- bnolsen, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Haven't seen any reports about *how* they plan on getting the firmware on there.
Pandora doesn't work on the slim, and there's no downgrader for 3.52.
Perhaps they've got some way to trick the firmware updater? - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Whya re you guys digging him down. the irda was great if only sony had allowed us to use it fo official use.
- Burritoking924, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3I dont see why hes being Dugg down. Jordans actually was first. Check the timestamps on the forums.
- diggdowner, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Thank you so much for that! I can't believe I missed that plugin.
I didn't care much for IRshell either... - sukimashita, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Come out of your cave!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2nobody gives a ***** who was first....
- fkr3, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1The problem is the PSP + power supply + a couple of discs means it's going to be bulky anyway. I got one of those little tote bags made for the PSP but it's a whole extra bag of crap to carry around. The Slim's not going to change that. The tv-out is the only real reason I'm going to buy one.
- dew87, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Omg this is great. Now I really want the slim PSP!
- Soothsayer1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0"HA HA!"
/Nelson - frenchmeat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0THIS HAS BEEN RELEASED - CHECK MAXCONSOLE FORUMS - OR THE WEBSITE - OFFICIALLY RELEASED
- KingGoonie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1What is this? I'm being serious. Half the reason I got a psp off ebay was for the homebrew... but I updated the system (The psp said update to 2.0... and I knew you can downgrade to 1.50 from 2.0 so I did it... but it upgrade to 3.51... My bad, stupid on my part I know... I should have realized that it would upgrade to the latest edition, not the one it said)
Anyway I am now at 3.51 and am told I am out of luck either for a VERY long time, or possibly ever. I got over it.. but if there is a way to do the homebrew on 3.51 I would like to know.
Thank God I didn't way for psp slim... I mean I was going to wait thinking it would be cheaper (don't ask me why lol, I just thought that...) - AICkieran, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0A decent smartphone is a better alternative IMO, does everything both of those products do (minus the over priced ***** ported games) and a whole lot more and you don't have to constantly keep hacking at it for homebrew.
- JordanBlack68, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0i do :)
- felman87, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1What can I say, I'm a dumbass. PSP was easy to set up though.
- MusicMagi, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0I for one welcome our new PSP slim overlords
- brakken, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1You have to love Maxconsole and their rumors. Knowing Maxconsole's past and their endorsement of vast amounts of rumors that never pan out I would take this article with a grain of salt.
- olddirtycr, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2... Even the normal PSP can be charged via USB
- loganhid, on 10/10/2007, -4/+233%
- HumanIce, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1IR shell.. hmm, I've used it once, but then deleted it.
only to listen to music while playing a game.. the only problem was, you can only listen to 1 song.. so it just loops.. so IR shell really isn't anything important to me..
but there are 2 things that made me love my PSP, the GPSP GBA emulator, and the Duke Nukem 3D port to play my maps I've made on pc for duke nukem on my psp.. finally portable..
but IR shell? even what is that.. I found IR to be annoying.. when I turn on my PSP, I want it to start at the normal PSP menu.. - theglassjaw, on 10/10/2007, -3/+0wait, no simpsons quote yet?
- Dracusis, on 10/10/2007, -4/+0Are you sure this hasn't been planted by Sony so you all go grab a PSP slim?
I'd wait for confirmation and a working firmware/youtube vidoes before buying and thinking it'll be hackable. Of course, some of us don't have a PSP yet and will be getting one anyway. :) - HumanIce, on 10/10/2007, -8/+3yeeesss!!
YEEAAAHSS!!
HOMEBREEEEEEW FOR PSP SLIM!!!! - princeofhosts, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1Does this mean that everyone can play the new Rehashed Fantasy VII game for the PSP via ISO?
Final Fantasy VI & VIII FTW! -
