- SVPirate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I've never had an issue with HP Printers. They just work.
I still wouldn't touch a game PC from HP with a barge pole. Or Dell. If I want a power rig I hand pick parts myself and research each part meticulously to ensure a balance of maximum compatibility, reliability and performance. - ziggystardust, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The printers work great. My laptop hasn't failed one time in 2 years. My new 42 inch plasma has a 10k to 1 contrast ratio and looked better than 99% of the tv's next to it. Hp as a company has made a major turn around in the past 2 years, the stock has more than doubled and the advertising has ramped up big time. These are all good signs for Hp in the near future. I am keeping an eye on what they do with Voodoo. Could be very could considering the leverage they have in the tech world.
BTW 5 years ago I would've agreed with the naysayers but now I speak from experience and have so far been happy. - iMrEuphony, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't know, I've seen a program about their London Tower interactive game and it seems pretty impressive. Also I have had a Hp Notebook and printer for the last year and if I had to go out and buy new ones I would still go Hp, I find nothing wrong with their products.
- Lewie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I really like Voodoo PC. Their computers are definitely works of art (and a bit more expensive because of that). I hope the acquisition treats them well. And I hope HP keeps a level head about this. They're the underdogs, and have a lot working against them.
- envy860, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2However, they did survive for a long time on their own. Even the more brand recognizable Alienware sold out before they did. Falcon Northwest is one of the only major boutique brands that is going it alone.
If HP leaves their hands off for the most part, this should be fine. The more I think about it, at least they (Voodoo) didn't get bought by Dell. That would have been a trainwreck. - Leo21k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have an HP computer that's almost 10 years old (4gb memory and a 300MHz processor)and still runs without ever having a problem.
- ptcfast2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1HP has actually tossed its hat into the gaming ring before by the means of the Compaq X07 and X09 Gaming PCs.
- Inverno, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It sounds like it might be kind of fun.
Did I read this article wrong, or does the console depend on major tech infrastructure that is not in place yet? - Moosebern, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1HP's undergoing a major restructuring right now. I'd like to see what they're going to come out with. Be reminded that they're buying companies up like there's no tomorrow. They realize that they do need to change the way that they produce their equipment. Expect big things.
- pronto, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Sweet, Can't wait intil I can get an amd64 for my printer :D
- NightBlade40, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Well if their printers, scanners and software are anything to go by I wouldn't touch anything gaming-related from HP (or anything else from HP from that matter) with a very long pole.
