Bug #1: in the church, if you use the gravity gun to push around the huge chandellier, it swings around, but the rope holding it up doesnt!
Bug #2: There was one combine soldier that was stuck in the ground. All you could see was the top of his head, and his shadow. He was still shooting at me tho!

Bug #3: Upon death and restart to the firefight in the courtyard, several combine soldiers were, ummm, zombified, and you could walk through them.

- cloudstrife, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Lost Coast owned, better lighting graphics than Doom3. Doom3 is made-up sci-fi textures and uses alot of contrasting, over-exaggerated lighting differences. This may look nice but imitating real-life is much harder to do and can attract more criticisms, which is what the HL2 engine is revolving around mostly, and i think they did a great job

- Jong, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Vertigoblue, you don't need an HDR monitor, just a graphics card that can support it. Valve's technology is simply for today's poor low-dynamic-range monitors.
You can still play the demo if your graphics card doesn't support it, you just won't get the nice HDR effects. - rewritable, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0you guys who have better comps than me better be checking you ***** because I play it just goddamn fine on old machine. Do the commentary. I really liked how it mesaured the light intensity and then when you walk out into the sunlight from a dark place "your eye's adjust".

I am running it on an athlon 2400+ 1024MB of Ram, and a Radeon 9600XT 256MB AGP card and I'm pulling a steady 40 FPS at 1600x1200 with EVERYTHING MAXED and HDR lighting set to full. "you need a 6800GT to play" yeah my ass needs golden toilet paper too.

I for one loved it and thought the graphics were fantastic. The commentary was very cool and I hope they add it into future games.

commentary: very cool, some of it was stating the obvious but some was interesting (namely the stairs commentary)
