- Mukluc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is actually bad news for the guy that sold it. The chances are that the person who bought it will actually pay for a box is slim to none. All ebay does in this case is let the seller file an unpaid item dispute and get back his final value credit (i.e. the commision ebay made on the sale).
This means that the seller loses the money he spent to actually psot the item. All that happens to the buyer is he/she gets a meaning strike agaist their account (which is invisible to the public as it dosen't show up in feedback).

- jaykay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0There was a similar story on f*rk yesterday - somebody pasted in a lengthy description of the new xbox and they were only selling a (free!) email address - something like "xbox360seller05@yahoo.com" - it went for about a grand. Lessons? As always,
1. *always* read the whole thing
2. If something seems too good to be true, it is.

- randomnumber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I sold my xbox 360 box on eBay and some one bought it for $575.00. They sent me the payment and didn't realize it was a box until after they had sent the payment. Apparently the lady's son bid on the box on the last minute. She filed a complaint with pay-pal and eBay. Right now my eBay account is suspended so I can't send you the link for the auction. My listing was clearly for a box. So, I will see who this all works out, but basically she is pissed off because see is a dumb ass.

I mean, there have been some crazy bids for the 360's on eBay over the past few days but it could just be people bidding crazy amounts and not paying just to piss sellers off. I remember last time it happened the buyer was clueless until the package turned up on his doorstep one morning - they both left each other feedback which cracked me up, obviously the guy who bought the box was not impressed but the listing as with this occasion did clearly say it was for an Xbox BOX.
