- dweeb79, on 10/12/2007, -3/+39Na white is the only way to roll, I just wish they could have gotten permission to have a wireless guitar.
- bar10dr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17Why the hell is it not wireless?
- mosesconspiracy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Most of my friends that play guitar love Guitar Hero.
I like Call of Duty, should I buy a real gun? - chicbicyclist, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15I like my idea better. Wiimote dock and optional Drum Hero mode with your friend as the drummer.
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Bow Chicka Bow Wow
- ScottDaMan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I like it. It is unique to the Xbox colors.
- doshindude, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11guitar hero for Wii wouldn't use the wiimote, they'd have a guitar like they always do.
- ChrisRX, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16I'm still crossing my fingers for guitar hero for the wii
- BigDane, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I need some new spandex and leather
- GeneralFailure0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Yes, the stock market is heavily influenced by gaming news sites.
- straxus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"and you'd miss out on downloadable content."
And why, exactly, is that? - johnnynada, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8drool?
- magicRob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Very much so... only need a release date now...
- headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8And a ***** load of hairspray!
- FrankieB078, on 10/12/2007, -12/+19Could you Wii-nerds allow the other systems some glory without your grubby oily fingers trying to pry into games? Go play Wii Sports or something...
- tashpool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7So I bought a 360 for Christmas, and now that I CAN buy a PS3 without hounding Gamestop - why would I? When good games like this keep hitting the 360, shelling out $600 just doesn't seem worthwhile. (And I'm usually one of the biggest Sony supporters around)
- jfair, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7"White doesnt seem very rock-star/metal to me"
Jimi Hendrix! Kids these days...
http://www.jimi-hendrix.net/jimi.jpg - afex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"most people don't play with a guitar wirelessly connected to an amp"
tell that to my sub-$200 audio-technica wireless kit...
its not just super rock stars that have wireless, even garage band bums like me can afford wireless systems nowadays - straxus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Ever hear of Metallica/James Hetfield?"
FIRE BAD!! - gallagherFTW, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"It was confirmed by GameSpot that the Guitar Hero series would be ported to "all significant consoles" in 2007"
wikipedia. i found that interesting because i'm not sure when this statement was made, but if they stick to it they would have more reason to release it on wii and 360 than ps3 considering the install base. of course ps2 will be the most important but still... - Anrkist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Lets not forget downloadable content.. I'm sure some of that will be songs.
- PacoDG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I honestly really hate the word 'pwn' .. but the 2nd game's songs PWN the 1st one.
Alice in Chains (Jerry Cantrell is a true guitar hero)
Spinal Tap
Butthole Surfers
Primus
Lamb of God
Suicidal Tendencies
BUCKETHEAD
and even Dethklok (of AdultSwim)
The first game had Sum 41 on it, what a disgrace to rock in itself :( - Cerebral, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@dweeb79
Gotten Permission.... All they had to do was pay $. - luckytopher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4no, the xbox controllers don't work on the x360.. they are completely different
- meatypuffs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Don't forget my favorite song to play off Guitar Hero II, "Trogdor" by Strongbad.
"And the Trogdor comes in the night!"
Finish a song screaming that line, and tell me you didn't just pee a little bit. - kotatsu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6@rickler - how exactly are you going to play this on a PS3? You can't plug PS2 controllers into PS3s and the game isn't out as a native PS3 title.
Besides, who would want a PS3 anyway..!? It only has a couple of exclusives left, blu-ray is nose diving into obscurity, and Sony seem intent on making as many mistakes as possible. 360 makes far more sense. - luckytopher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4if the guitar is USB, then i see no reason why it won't work on the 360, wii, and ps3 alike for the same hardware.... all that's needed then is a software port and it's golden...
however the rumors of wireless options are what make me happy in the pants... - edgecurve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I tried. And it turns out I haven't a lick of talent or ability. This game gives me that ability.
- Joe_rigby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Can't wait.
- Nysidra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3When you have friends over, it makes it much easier to pass the guitar around. I have 2 wireless guitars, and a group of friends that come over and we play multiplayer for hours. I don't think I could stand a wire getting in the way.
- qorsair, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I can't tell from the picture but could it be a plug-in for the Xbox Live Headset?
Seems like an odd place for it--you'd think it'd be on the top--but I don't know what else it would be. - Frophauser, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Is there a release date yet?
- slackerbox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've heard that they're going to offer all the songs from the first game.. of course, it's nothing more than a rumor at this point. Oh, how sweet would that be? :(
- Hodown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It says March 07 on the page
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm kind of worried about the price. The guitar seems a bit more high-end than the PS2 one (more buttons, etc), and since all 360 games already cost $10 extra, I bet this bundle will come out to $100 or more.
:( - svartgotik, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@TheNik
True, if they never move onstage. Wireless transmitters for guitar players are sadly more common than wireless in-ear monitors. That's why you can get a decent guitar transmitter for 200 bucks, but if you want a decent in-ear monitor system, you're out at least 6 bills.
/bitter musician - Gundabad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I think it would be great to have a Guitar shell for the wii-mote, where you plug it into the neck of the guitar. This would allow guitar communication to the Wii through the nunchuck port, and also give players the ability to perform "rock star moves" more advanced than the current tilting of the guitar neck that you can do on PS2.
- xp3ll3d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Got GH1 on PS2. been holding off on getting GH2 so i can get it for the 360.
Figured it would have a longer life on the 360, should be able to download extra songs/content - emb3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Can you see it now? MS integrates their Zune Music Store with Live. You buy the album via your Live, download it wirelessly to your Zune, through your Windows Media Center to your PC ...
AND...
wait for it...
The hit single from the album as a song for Guitar Hero.
The integrated MS/Zune/Live/WMC/GH experience at your fingertips.
Now what's it going to cost?
And more importantly...who owns a Zune? - Weenis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've played the guitar for 12 years... I still love Guitar Hero.
Also, Trent Reznor has said numerous times that he's a GH addict. I suppose he's a nerd that needs to learn the guitar? - PacoDG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight" (Encore for the 'opening licks')
- straxus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Learn to be respectful of others, troll.
- Coffeedemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"White doesnt seem very rock-star/metal to me"
Ever hear of Metallica/James Hetfield? - flippedcracker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3here's a better review/preview of it.
http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1495/Guitar-Hero-II/p1/
most importantly : "The company also indicated that it’s talking with Microsoft about the possibility of having an X-Plorer controller work with the Xbox 360 wirelessly, but that aspect hasn’t been finalized." - chicbicyclist, on 10/12/2007, -7/+8Easy. It would be wireless and the wiimote docks into the guitar.
Or your friend could use two wiimotes(or nunchuck/wiimote combo) for the drum while you're on the supplied guitar. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1[nevermind, wired controller, duh]
- flippedcracker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@magicrob
i've seen 3/15/07 somewhere as the release date. - Meshyf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah you can point the guitar to the sky but it makes it hard as hell to hit the right notes on expert since the frets just blaze by and you're shifting a lot to activate the star power.
- PacoDG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Though Id like to have the original vocals of course, the concept of the game is being in a cover band, it makes sense to have different vocals, but more focused on having the music itself done justice (.. the guitar specifically of course)
- chicbicyclist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The stock market is incredibly finicky. That's the fundamental engine that makes it work, those small shifts here and there endlessly trying to balance itself.
