- DFENS, on 11/27/2007, -1/+45Should read 'EXTRA controllers' not wireless.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -1/+26All of the GH3 controllers from current gen consoles are wireless. They just haven't been for sale without the game.
- gr0ss, on 11/27/2007, -0/+20Done, and I still think Guitar Hero is fun.
- jimonastick, on 11/27/2007, -1/+20Real guitars are for old people...
- BenKenobi88, on 11/27/2007, -0/+16What kind of Wii owner doesn't have at least 2 Wiimotes though...
- reddevil3, on 11/27/2007, -2/+17Yes but how much will the Wii version cost? Considering how you already need a $40 Wiimote to play the game, I hope the guitar is not more than $40. Because even then the total cost comes to $80...I'm guessing it will be $50 though.
- rpgguy1o1, on 11/27/2007, -0/+14mario sucks, learn to become a real plumber
- ImperatorTerrae, on 11/27/2007, -0/+14Actually, they were wireless to begin with. The only breaking news here is that the guitars can now be sold without the game. Now, doesn't that just make you wonder why they didn't just make a seperate guitar controller to begin with?
- wastedlife, on 11/27/2007, -1/+14Call of Duty 4 sucks. Join the army.
- AeonTorpor, on 11/27/2007, -0/+11Oh, hey dude, i meant to tell you. You didn't fill out the area to get more diggs.
- MikeD606, on 11/27/2007, -0/+7Actually if you start your wii with your wiimote in the guitar you can use the joystick on the guitar to navigate.
- KyjL, on 11/27/2007, -1/+8Okay problem:
1) WAY TO FAIL IN LINKING - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?_dyncharse ...
2) There AREN'T any GHIII wireless controllers sold separately yet. The only Wireless controllers sold are GH2 controllers for PS2 and XBox 360. - Vistrix, on 11/27/2007, -0/+6So wait a second... Has everyone been playing GH3 solo with no ability to play 2 players?
- dunezone, on 11/27/2007, -0/+6Yeah, I recommend you stick with the older white version. Unless they fix the black one, that guitar has so many issues because of that detachable neck, everyone I know who has tried claims the damn thing is not registering hits.
- grivad, on 11/27/2007, -0/+5I'd expect the Wii versions to be cheaper, since really, all of the technology is contained in the wiimote.. the guitar is mainly just a plastic shell with some extra buttons..
And BenKenobi88, I'm pretty sure he's referring to Wiimote + Guitar, not two guitars. - tuxidomasx, on 11/27/2007, -0/+4good news for us PC GH3 players
you know what controller WE got? that piece of ***** x-plorer controller used with the 360 version of GH2
and its wired.
http://xbox360.vggen.com/news/images/Xplorer.jpg - ledguitar, on 11/27/2007, -0/+4I play guitar and I still love playing guitar hero.
- sw1val, on 11/27/2007, -1/+4This is good news because it will be easier for me to play my acoustic sets downtown. (Wires always getting in my way when I play)
- SirBryce, on 11/27/2007, -1/+4I can't get past step 1......
- HappyScrappy, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3My PS3 GH3 guitar doesn't have a neck problem. But a co-worker's does.
I think I'm gonna trade mine in soon anyway. GH3 doesn't play right (at least on PS3) and Rock Band does, so I have little use for GH3. - archimago42, on 11/27/2007, -2/+5I have it for the Wii and all you do is just stick a controller inside the guitar. It just pops in. Takes car of the motion control for star power and the wireless in one move. Nintendo just seems to have overall nailed it with the Wii.
- sleze, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3You mean like my wii guitar? Now if only the music part of the game would work correctly...
- MikeD606, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3For the wii people (with no way to use old guitars from previous versions of the game), yes. :(
- Mrstupid7, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Yeah you would expect that but it won't ***** happen.
- Dorepoll, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Out of the three black guitars my friends and I own, only one has had a problem. Even then, I haven't noticed it, he just claims it happens when we are not around.
Like the invisible guy from Mystery Men. - cytracet, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Forget about wireless, Are they going to fix the sound in the Wii version?
- thedharmabum, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2No, people playing the 360 or PS2 versions could use the GHII guitars.
- hokeywebb22, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2This is awesome news. When I bought the game no one had the guitar and game bundle. So I had to just buy the game and have been waiting for the guitar to go sale so I can replace my broken controller.
- MikeD606, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2I was wishing for a $20 guitar, but yea its probably going to be $50 :(
- rpgguy1o1, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2thank god, i've been needing a wii guitar for awhile now
- RichieDagger, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2But drummers get all the chicks!
- jimmick, on 11/27/2007, -1/+2Mine too, I think they mean white controllers
I'm not too amazed. If I'm missing something please enlighten me - estvir, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Unless my EB has been lying to me, these have been available from at least the 16th because the 16th is when they called up and said mine was ready to be picked up.
This is for the XB360 version and I'm in Australia. - Rockmaninoff, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1I've had absolutely no problems with my controller. I know of quite a few others who haven't as well. That's not to say that there AREN'T issues out there; however, Red Octane's customer support is apparently very proactive when dealing with malfunctioning guitars. Off-topic, but I'm also equally impressed by EA/Harmonix's customer service with Rock Band.
Although these problems should never have been there in the first place...
=/ - KyjL, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1I'm not even going to bother answering that question.
- ChildeRoland420, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Would be great if it reduced the price of buying a second guitar for the game (or even reduced the price of the first one), but it won't.
- ChildeRoland420, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1But, then why do the bundles for the PS3 and X360 cost the same. I have the feeling that they're just trying to screw us by charging an extra $10-20 on the PS3 version.
- herrin, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Why wait? Just go buy a bundle from Walmart and take the game to GameStop for a $30 trade in. You get a wireless guitar for $60 and don't have to wait.
- ElwinRansom, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Wow, I had just assumed they were already wireless. Personally I'd rather just use the wired ones, no possibility of lag that way. I wonder if they've fixed the mono only thing for Wii, that is just ridiculous.
- TheUngod, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Seems to me like it's gonna be a one man band with your Axel Rose personality.
- doshindude, on 11/27/2007, -1/+2Step 1. Get a friend.
Step 2. Get said friend to buy GHIII for Wii/PS2
Step 3. Combine your GHIII guitar with your friend's
Step 4: ???
Step 5: Profit! - Bologner, on 11/27/2007, -1/+2Ditto, and I'm not that great at real guitar, so.
- DesertDude, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Let's hope this one makes sure all the fret button presses count. I had to switch back to the GH and GHII wired guitar.
- twtmc, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1I was pretty pissed! I want wireless dammit!
- ChaosProfessor, on 11/29/2007, -0/+1ummm you can have 2 so you can play with a friend
- KyjL, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1From TFA:
"Rock Band has wireless controllers on the way in a similar time frame for both the 360 and PS3, but for some reason the 360 version costs an extra $20, so hopefully Guitar Hero guitars keep some better price parity."
Because Microsoft are a bunch of dicks with wireless on their 360s. You have to cough up royalties to use their (I'm taking a good guess *proprietary*, someone correct me) wireless crap, hence why Rock Band only on the 360 has wired controllers with the bundle packs. If Harmonix was to cough up extra for wireless, it would very likely be passed on to the already pricey bundle packages. Justify as much as you'd like for $160 for a game*, it would scare away even more people if it was any bit more expensive.
* - Totally just bought a bundle pack myself today :D - funkytommyman, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1I'm just waiting for a universal guitar hero controller. I don't want to buy one for every system I own, nor do I want to buy a Wii guitar which I cannot use at a friends house.
- tfletch, on 11/27/2007, -2/+2Rock Band > GH3 imo
- Flappity, on 11/27/2007, -0/+0Yeah, my Guitar Hero 3 controller registers hits fine, but that doesn't help when it loses its connection to the xbox every 10 seconds..
- Cowfrommars, on 11/27/2007, -3/+3Uhh, mine's wireless. :/
