- HOTM, on 10/12/2007, -43/+7Why the hell would you do that when you have donkey konga that has a REAL drum controller you use.
- TheRealPod, on 10/12/2007, -51/+5So I'm going to buy a wii and a 50 dollar controller so I can make the same noise that I can do with sticks and a bucket.
- HOTM, on 10/12/2007, -23/+6I'm not complaining that I am being dugg down, but can someone please answer my question?
- Xarou, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15@therealpod
This question only really works if you have bought Guitar Hero 1 or 2 or are planning on getting the Guitar Hero 360. Did you pay 70 (90 for GH2) for something that you could have just turned a CD on and played air guitar? If this game works out well, it will be a big seller for the Wii. And I know I will buy it, just like I'm going to buy GH360 when it comes out.
@hotm
Well, it would be an upgrade and a real good use of the Wiimotes. Plus, you could get a whole new set of songs that the two DK games didn't have. Plus, it would be fun. And it would be a lot more convenient than having to hold the bongos between your legs or have them dance away. - npsken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Drumset and Donkey Konga are different things.
- metacoola, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13To answer the questions, Donkey Konga has a bongo set. This would be a drum set with snares and such.
- ministewy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Drum Hero sounds fun, but it would certainly be a challenge to try and emulate real set drumming (as in the type that we hear on the radio) with just two wiimotes... what would you use for the bass drum/high hat foot pedals that are so important to modern drumming?
- dnite, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8@ministewy: Only 2 wii-motes? How many drum sticks does a drummer use? The only thing that would be missing would be a foot fedal or 2 for bass but that could easily be duplicated with one of the wii-mote buttons.
- ministewy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5@ dnite
fair enough, but do you think that the average player (non-drummer) would be able to keep a beat having to do everything with their hands? keep in mind that the drummer in the song they are playing along too was able to use all four limbs... - cspivack, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Don't worry, they're already doing it.

"Activision's recent preliminary financial report, CEO Mike Griffith mentioned that Guitar Hero will be finding its way to the Wii. To quote:
The key difference in our strategy versus the prior cycle, is that in addition to full support on Sony and Microsoft platforms, we will aggressively target the Nintendo platforms consistent with our multi-platform strategy and Nintendo’s expected growth. In fiscal 2008, we will double our offerings on the DS and the Wii, including Spider-Man, Shrek, Transformers, and Guitar Hero."

I use about eight pairs. - BestJaxx, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Drum Hero would use the wii-mote and nunchuck. It would be awesome.
By the way, still waiting for bagpipe and kazoo hero. - zeldafan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@dnite
You're forgetting something about the wii mote. It has buttons.
Press a button = pushing on foot pedal, nice and easy.
- FishyJoe, on 10/12/2007, -6/+34I wish they would create a Guitar Hero where you could plug in a real guitar. It would be great if they could bring that kind of fun to learning the guitar for real.
- AhrenBa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15I agree with you on this. If they were to make a game like, I don't think they should make it completely game-like though. I think it would be very cool if you could plug in a real guitar and the software could give you the on-screen tabs, and slowly work you through some lessons and teach you how to play various songs.
As a beginning guitarist, I would definitely use something like this. The key to success would be to create something that is instructional, and then contain areas for games that would use the skills you have learned. I wouldn't want the whole piece of software to be a game, but instead something like interactive lessons and Guitar-Pro style tabs. :) - Dragular, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Back in '95... well, around then... there was a PC program, one of those "Teach yourself guitar" programs, that came with a guitar pick that plugged into your PC, and the program monitored how you were playing and so on. I never got it, from what I've heard the program was glitchy as hell and didn't work as advertised, but I could definitely see something like that being released these days. I don't know about being a console game, but for PC's I don't see why not.
The only problem is console gamers are more likely to purchase something that requires some new accessory, I don't think a PC game requiring a toy guitar would sell well at all... PC Gamers are too hardcore about their love for the keyboard-and-mouse setup to accept much of anything else. - cracell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I would love to see a trend of "interactive" learning type games.
Yes we have these for kids, and some of them like Reader Rabbit are decently advanced and fun to play when you are still learning your ABCs. But I've see very little good stuff for older. I mean why read a book on Roman times if I can go accurately play through them in an rpg/puzzle style game. Which yes we have some games like that...but never with any focus on accuracy and actual learning. And when you get into crazy stuff like being able to learn to play the piano or guitar or design database systems, that'd just be awesome.
We should start this trend. - BigDumbYak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Yamaha makes a guitar called the EZ-AG Self Teaching Guitar that has lights on the fretboard to indicate finger placement etc. and has settings for many different guitars including classical, bass, and even banjo.
Anyone else hoping for GH3 to include the "Dueling Banjo's"?
http://music.yamaha.com/products/main.html?productId=189 - BigDumbYak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Sorry, didn't look like the first post worked.
- godd4242, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Can't be done
You wouldn't be able to send the wavelength signals via USB to the system, and I don't know where else you would plug it in.
The regular controller ports wouldn't do it anyways.
Sorry dudes, it sounds good to me too, but it's just not technologically possible. - FishyJoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually it is possible. Take a look a the Line 6 Variax which has a digital output.
- caselogic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Miracle for NES.. anyone?

- AhrenBa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15I agree with you on this. If they were to make a game like, I don't think they should make it completely game-like though. - walkngonawire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24Careful, activating star power may result in knocking 2nd player unconscious.
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/12/2007, -9/+25One less reason to buy a PS3 and to get a Wii.... :/
- Duositex, on 10/12/2007, -38/+5Ya know.. I'm getting tired of this *****. I own both. Love both. Sick of reading this junk.
- Innagadadavida, on 10/12/2007, -8/+25You're just upset because you bought a PS3.
- doshindude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Awesome
too bad it wasn't really any new info though...we kinda saw this coming - McTendo, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4The 360 version didn't have wireless because Microsoft didn't allow them to (read they don't allow anyone to use their wireless for some reason), but the Wii version could in fact be the very first Guitar Hero ever to have a wireless guitar.
Not only that but they could easily make the guitar a shell that the wiimote fits into, thus making the guitar much MUCH cheaper in price and allowing motion controls.- Xorsist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Ps2 has wireless guitars, have for a while now.
- goldfenix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Though to be fair, the PS2 wireless guitars miss notes once in a while. I mean, they're still great and all, but I'd say they miss about 1 in 500 notes. More when they run low on batteries. Still, it's a tiny problem and they're very awesome for letting guests use who wouldn't notice the misses anyway.
- xellxero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Downloadable songs over VC would make this an instant win.
- CapeKid, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11Knowing nintendo, $5 a song.
- jacenat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6knowing the riaa: 10$ a song
after all, you are getting the notes too ... kinda ...
- Br0wn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7now that it's wireless I can powerslide across my floor and get some rockstar rugburn
- Anryha42, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Old
- Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4It would be cool if the wii controller connected to the guitar, then it could be cheaper and wouldn't need extra batteries.
- LucerinRed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14umm, they actually announced this over a month ago
http://kotaku.com/gaming/guitar-hero/activision-ceo-confirms-nintendo-guitar-hero-234865.php- catfud, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2your right

Yep.
"The average short term memory of a digg member is *****."- rodrigo74, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Either that or people don't read every single story every single day.
Stop whining. - prgmctan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5cause all of them smoke too much pot ;)
- cam503, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Damn, you got me there. If only digg had a feature in place informing you if an article with similar keywords had been submitted before yours...
- championchap, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Announced on Digg?
Common misconception..
- rodrigo74, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Either that or people don't read every single story every single day.
- CaptAubrious, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0i cant wait for this.....hopefully it will motivate me to learn the to play the guitar.....
- marvin69, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2What kind of guitar is going to be.. a Ukelele!
- anylo, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2You can play "Guitar Hero" even with your PC. Just download Frets on Fire and buy PS2->USB adapter and the guitar.
http://louhi.kempele.fi/~skyostil/uv/fretsonfire/
Totally playable with Linux/Windows. - Elric1977, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Weeks old... again READ Digg before you POST on Digg.
- modifiedbears, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1...or digg something that has already been posted.
I don't get why this is even news worthy. Still have no clue what guitar it will be, a list of songs on the soundtrack, or if they'll let you download songs.
- modifiedbears, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1...or digg something that has already been posted.
- soulpiercer7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1hellz yea! I just hope it's either corded or is rechargeable. If not, I'm going to need a LOT of batteries :)
- DocMalk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't own a Wii, don't plan on getting one, but hey: the more, the merrier. GH is the reason - after five or so years - I caved in and got a PS2.
(I'm primarily a PC gamer, that's why.)- jacenat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3ever heard of "frets on fire"?
- Gir53457, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I hope the guitar uses full motion sensing so you can get extra points if you play it while doing tricks like Stevie Ray Vaughan.
- ryanwarnersteel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4HUGE dupe. Not only was this on Digg before, but it was on ***** Diggnation. Jesus tap dancing christ stop posting dupes!
- 13tongimp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Another port for the Wii!!!!!
- Banoosh, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Would you like to tell us where that is written?
- hotbeefman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I feel like a pro seeing a dupe of a frontpage story I got so many times.
