- EnterReality, on 07/06/2009, -6/+67Harmonix is a company that loves music, Activision is a company that loves money. Simple as that.
- SwankRock3000, on 07/06/2009, -6/+28It's really stupid that none of these virtual drum kits even have the basic hi-hat/snare set up.
- akchrs, on 07/07/2009, -1/+22Do they have cowbell? I love a good cowbell solo.
- jedinate, on 07/07/2009, -0/+18Ya, your blurry piece of ***** picture has me convinced.
- nanowerx, on 07/07/2009, -2/+18Needs more Rock Band!
- tidu, on 07/07/2009, -1/+15That's about when they changed developers. Coincidence?
- allisonaxe, on 07/07/2009, -0/+13considering they're all cross-compatible now, you could just pick whichever you like the best and use that, and give/sell the other sets to friends so they can get the game without the equipment, like I did. a friend bought rock band with the guitar bundle, I gave her my drums and bought rock band 2 and got a whole set. got a second guitar that way, and the wireless drum set with the softer heads.
- crilen007, on 07/07/2009, -0/+11We don't care.
- joshefosho, on 07/07/2009, -2/+12Great, now I get to have four ***** plastic drum sets in my house.
- gaph2000, on 07/07/2009, -0/+8Look a bit harder... released earlier this year.
- stuffradio, on 07/07/2009, -0/+6hit 'em
- inactive, on 07/07/2009, -0/+6People stealing technology ideas? HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?!
/s - inigomntoya, on 07/07/2009, -0/+5That's because they discovered that for another $60 - 70, you will buy an upgrade pack with a few decent songs form a band you enjoy more.
- Gizza, on 07/07/2009, -0/+5@MYarms
Harmonix created GH1 and 2, and then Activision made GH3.
Harmonix then created Rock Band and then Activsion made World Tour. - inigomntoya, on 07/07/2009, -0/+5You should get off your computer and give him a hug...
- doshindude, on 07/07/2009, -1/+5Rock Band's does (with the add-on cymbals), where have you been?
- DeadPlasmaCell, on 07/07/2009, -0/+4Not really seeing any major similarities.. They look like the World Tour kit with better looking cymbals.
- killdashnine, on 07/07/2009, -1/+5Why? Just give us a subscription and unlimited DLC.
- Crash1337, on 07/07/2009, -1/+5The guitar hero drum set is *****, so many problems with them. Hopefully they fix all the issues. But im more looking forward to what the Rock Band team do.
- evilhomestereo, on 07/07/2009, -1/+5And cymbal-shaped cymbals.
- doshindude, on 07/07/2009, -2/+5umm, are you stupid? Rock Band came out first, not to mention Harmonix created both franchises anyway.
- Travelsonic, on 07/07/2009, -0/+3***** off
- SPARTACVS, on 07/07/2009, -0/+3The creators of the first two got tired of it just like SveedeshCheef did... that's why they moved on to do something different and create the full band game.
- TheMu, on 07/07/2009, -0/+3@doshindude
Exactly. And ever since Rock Band came out, Activision has been siphoning features from it. First it was the rather glaring addition of the "full band experience" to Guitar Hero World Tour, ostensibly to stay competitive (read: "we couldn't come up with any original ideas so we'll just steal yours"), then they stole other, little things like being able to gain Overdri*COUGHCOUGH* Star Power while it was activated.
Not to mention that Activision's M.O. seems to be "ignore our userbase and crank out the same ***** game every year". At least they're doing something different this time, and adding features. Unfortunately, these features are stolen. - jedinate, on 07/07/2009, -0/+3I've re-glued mine 3 times. $15 for a replacement (just ONE head) I'll wait until I absolutely have to.
- fumbduck, on 07/07/2009, -0/+2i still wanna know when the ion set will work properly with world tour or if it will work for gh5. cuz after that one, im not getting another set.
- Sheila0358, on 07/07/2009, -1/+3Hopefully they will actually work this time. The set I got was ***** from the beginning, had to get my husband to take them apart and hot glue the yellow cymbal sensor back into place.
Edit: Thank god for a ***** pole to keep the damn pedal in place. - Gizza, on 07/07/2009, -0/+2The World Tour drums are *****. They even feel cheap and crappy compared to the Rock Band drums. You get those notes that you need to hit harder to get extra points yet the drumkit can't even handle them without breaking.
- phbohn2, on 07/07/2009, -0/+2best idea yet from these comments.
- MYarms, on 07/07/2009, -0/+2try redoctane.com
- doshindude, on 07/07/2009, -2/+4Rock Band ION drumset>>>>Anything Activision could ever make.
- MatchStick, on 07/07/2009, -2/+4Don't like it? don't play it.
- inigomntoya, on 07/07/2009, -0/+2And we all know what that leads to:
http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/155898/?sear ... - stickmonkey2, on 07/07/2009, -0/+1just make the same game again cause it'll sell
- gaph2000, on 07/07/2009, -4/+5Despite the fact that I much prefer Guitar Hero to Rock Band (Not that I don't like Rock Band, of course; I just prefer Guitar Hero), how is this a Rock Band style make over? The only thing I notice that's similar is the connecting piece for the legs is moved down to the bottom now, instead of the middle.
- InfiniteNothing, on 07/07/2009, -0/+1the GH drums have velcro that sticks to carpet or a mat.
- stickmonkey2, on 07/07/2009, -1/+2WOW if only guitar hero was still fun
I personally am not gonna pay 200 bucks for the same game OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN
Guitar Hero 5? Jesus Christ - nerdherder, on 07/07/2009, -0/+1Thats pretty much the same as GTWT and it is no similar to Rock Band's drum set than GTWT's drums were :/
- Comp1demon, on 07/07/2009, -0/+1This is how and what to play for Guitar hero and Rockband drumming...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChmS8vtsWoE - ModernTenshi, on 07/07/2009, -0/+1Unless they make the kick pedal attach to the kit in some way so it doesn't move and rotate under my foot during heavy songs, I won't be interested.
- allisonaxe, on 07/07/2009, -1/+2who the hell plays rock band on wii? there's not enough space to store dlc. also, the instruments aren't compatible with each other.
- Syphon9, on 07/10/2009, -0/+0I know they were actually released, I can't find them.
- FrankTheTank75, on 08/18/2009, -0/+0Guitar Hero is awesome... I think this will benefit Activision... when people think of Guitar hero, they usually think of the game and guitar. Now they will have a reason to think otherwise. Way to go Activision!
- robertisaar, on 07/08/2009, -1/+1you're the one missing out, so it doesn't bother me one bit...
- robertisaar, on 07/07/2009, -1/+1trust me, i don't. plastic guitars and drum sets are no way to have fun.
i'll pick up my stratocaster and make music that way. - inactive, on 07/08/2009, -0/+0Robertisaar, I sold a mexican fender strat and bought GHWT with the money. How do you like that?
- inigomntoya, on 07/07/2009, -1/+1Yes, the Chinese are finally invading. They are going to do it while everyone is playing Rock Band and/or Guitar Hero - because everyone will have it and we won't have any other choice but to play it because that is what everyone else is doing at any given time.
Wait, I guess I don't follow... - BobbyMC, on 07/07/2009, -1/+1That's what happens to me in GHWT.
- MYarms, on 07/07/2009, -2/+1that's a completely untrue statement. i'd like to see you try that on a wii.
- harusp3x, on 07/07/2009, -3/+2Moving the controls to the front is a terrible idea. You would have to angle the sticks in an awkward fashion to keep from smashing them.
