- CanadianGeese, on 10/12/2007, -4/+52Finally! A third-party Wii game that people can get excited about. Will there be more?
- finbec, on 10/12/2007, -1/+47I tried once, but I couldn't figure out how to plug it into the TV.
- Cyber_Akuma, on 10/12/2007, -5/+42Yay! DLC! Now we can pay monstrously inflated prices for songs on the Wii version as well!
- MrSpontaneous, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37Definitely. Guitar Hero 4, Guitar Hero 5, Guitar Hero 6, Guitar Hero 7, etc.
I love the franchise- I hope that they can keep it fresh throughout its many iterations. - Protoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+34Does it matter? I mean, have anyone who's played Resident Evil ever actually tried to kill a zombie?!?
- floridiot2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25*****! I knew I should have thought about it more! I hate how you can't buy two games in one year! What madness!
- xerus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20Why do we even have to pay for DLC anyway?
Remember when you payed 50 dollars for a game, you actually got the entire game-- and not only the first part of it? - SHaR87, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Guitar Hero II came out last year in November, it just came out for 360 not ps2. Guitar Hero 1 came out November 2005. So they are releasing a new one every year around the same time. They just announced that it is coming, not that it is coming out now. So probably around November this year.
- Hellmark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13I play guitar, and have for years, but I still enjoy playing Guitar Hero and Frets on Fire. The games are not the same as playing real Guitar. Plus it is still fun.
- b-dizzle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13HA HA!
You don't have one of the rocking-est games evar! - dangerboy13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10You are paying $50 for the game (or whatever the cost is). In the case of 360 (though I agree the cost of the songs is overpriced), you are purchasing the songs from the original Guitar Hero game. All the content on the disc that you buy is the same as the PS2 version.
- JustEvk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Well, let's give them a chance. Bethesda learned from the horse armor thing and lowered thier prices, after all. Cross your fingers.
- Kronos6948, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I play bass and guitar, have my own band, and believe me, this game rules. If you know how to play, the action is similar. Don't be an elitist and think you're some hot shot because you can play guitar. My lead guitarist rules in this game, but gamers beat him. Keep that in mind, and just have fun playing the damn game. Don't take the fun out of it for the rest of us.
- gweedo767, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I am thinking they are going to create a guitar that the wiimote plugs into directly. This would allow them to use the wireless abilities and batteries already in the wiimote without needing to up the cost of building the guitar (but I am sure they will happily still charge us the same amount).
- InitialDMP5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7they choose a price and then create a conversion rate between all three systems. Capcom is releasing downloadable for the 360 and PS3, so its not unheard of. The prices will be as close to even as possible, but I'm sure one system will have a slightly more expensive pricing scheme. (probably nintendo or Microsoft)
- tdk2fe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7A guitar-shaped peripheral for the Wii? Does that simply mean the Wii will have the same guitar-controller thats already out for the PS and Xbox?
- Protoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Wasn't it Microsoft that pretty much said No, you can't make the controller wireless, for GH2 on the 360?
- Krakn3Dfx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Hopefully because of the control scene of the Wii, they will be forced to include a wireless controller with it instead of sticking people with a wired controller.
Wake the ***** up, it's 2007! - Seifey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'll love when this gets as repetitive and boring as the Madden franchise, but for the time being... hooray!
- Hellmark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Atleast with Guitar Hero, you have different songs to mix things up, where as with Madden, the only real changes are graphics.
- edgecurve, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I have, and I sound TERRIBLE. But I sound awesome playing Guitar Hero.
- Charron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"What madness!"
Madness?
THIS! IS! ...Naw, I won't do it. It's getting old. - elhaf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Ok, I'm gonna go ahead and go on record as saying that it is not possible to do co-op multiplayer over the internet for this product. It's just not possible to sync with lag times greater than 1/10th of a second. At 80bpm, 4/4 time, a sixteenth note is 187 milliseconds. So think about trying to sync with someone when whatever they play lags by a sixteenth note. The only way it would be possible would be to fake it, having a "source miss" be reflected a note or two later on the "target" machine, so that the two would simply get fake delayed renditions of each others' performance, although the overall score could certainly reflect what they actually did, again delayed slightly. It would be difficult enough to get the two machines to start playing the music at a close enough time that misses could be sent in both directions. Note that it is theoretically impossible to get them perfectly synced, per distributed processing. The reason all this works on FPS's is that they cheat a lot and no one notices. And you do see lag sometimes anyway.
- Hellmark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Its not exactly the same. 360 version has a few more songs than the PS2 version. Still, downloadable content is not from GH2, but rather GH1. If you want the 360's DLC for PS2, you have to go out and buy Guitar Hero 1. Its not like you're having to pay extra to get the rest of GH2 after you've already bought GH2.
- Hellmark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hey, I'm happy with one that the wiimote hooks up to, because that would mean wireless guitar controllers for games like Frets on Fire and Freetar too.
- djSyndrome, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Interesting question: how are they going to control downloadable song pricing across three different consoles?
- kennymiller, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4lets hope they fix the 360 DLC issue first.
- Psykus2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If the guitar is a shell for the Wii remote, it would open some other possibilities. First the wireless and battery portions would be handled by the Wii remote, some cost savings right there. Second, Guitar Hero III for Wii could have extra motion sensing features. Imagine swinging around the guitar at the end of the song (like rock stars do to smash the guitars, only not actually smashing of course, unless you want to buy a new guitar) for bonus points, or having to rock it up and down on certain notes as you're playing.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Even if it's just a shell, I doubt they'll price it any cheaper...
- tf5bassist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Freakin' awesome, for sure. GH3 will for sure be awesome, and I'd be stoked for a Les Paul body design... anything but a Strat.
or an Iceman body that would match my Ibanez Iceman bass. :D Red Octane, take note of that suggestion. ;)
*eagerly awaits to see wtf will be the deal with the DS version* - eliteeggnog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1All of you confused about the date of release for GH3 are ***** retarded. The title of the freakin' story says FALL 07!
- ochants76, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2the wii will probably have a V or a les paul shaped controller
- doshindude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A DS version would most likely utilize the "Stick Guitar" body for portability, and that would be pretty cool. or they would just use the neck of a guitar for frets/strummer
something like this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chapman_Stick - Hellmark, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'm hoping it is a Lessy. Each system seems to have its own design, PS2 with the SG like design, 360 with Explorer. Its gonna be a Gibson, pretty much know that much.
- Misanthrope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think they have a deal with Gibson, so probably no Strat or Iceman. A LP would be great though. Maybe they could make a budget version with a melody maker! HA! ...Anybody?
I'm a nerd... - aaronkarp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2If you follow the first link in the article, it takes you to this page, which says Fall 2007 for GH3
http://www.platformers.net/index/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=118&Itemid=1 - Ericular, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It would be close enough... it's not like while you're playing co-op or face off in person that you're staring at the other guy's notes. It would be close enough to give you a sense of how they are doing, and certainly fine at the end telling on the results page (which is what it all comes down to anyway).
- Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1awesome, I can't wait... I might buy the PS2 version of GH2 because I don't want to wait till november, i will eventually own all of them.
- eMximeR, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@xerus
Yeah, you definitely need all of the songs from GH1 to make GH2 complete.
Why should you get songs from the old game for free when the old game itself isn't free? - itsme92, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, I do play the guitar. But that doesn't mean that Guitar Hero isn't fun.
- Hellmark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, since there is a license agreement with Gibson, and not Fender, I sincerely doubt that it will be a strat.
- ElectricGrandpa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@Psykus2: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_reckoning
@elhaf: I was thinking the same stuff, but I'm sure they'll "cheat" (ie. guesstimate) in the multiplayer for this as well(just like every other game). It obviously won't be perfectly in sync, but they'll make it feel like it is(or close enough). - TheInimitable, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Apparently people can't even hang on to their remotes while playing tennis, what makes you think it's a good idea to implement that sort of movement?
- Psykus2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Do you have any links about the 'cheats' that FPS games use to compensate for network lag? I'm not trying to discount you on it, i'm really curious myself, it's something i've wondered about.
- joel5867, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0You know that the game with the control cost 90$,
- depodollar, on 05/19/2008, -0/+0There are sites can help you to download those ripped wii games and other media! Including movies, tv shows, music and much more! Also GH3 More downloaded song-packages!

http://www.bandolinoshoes.us/ - Lunker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1UPDATE:
According to a Gamespot interview from today with the same gentleman (Kai Huang of Red Octane), the "online elements" of Guitar Hero 3 will include both co-op and competitive online miultiplayer!
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6169126.html?action=convert&om_clk=latestnews&tag=latestnews;title;0 - Minos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1***** server. Seriously, getting dugg is enough without dreamhost messing around with it and me dicking around with the design.
