- BananaGrabber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6The Green Ranger's dragon should appear.
- razrielle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It needs more cowbell
- Gir53457, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7God hates you.
- Gir53457, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The best control scheme I can think of for this game... remember the bath scene from Billy Madison?
- blake10, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6this is a blog intermediary...it offers NOTHING beyond what the original article has
http://wii.ign.com/articles/759/759955p1.html - CamZak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I have it...the only problems with it are:
Area is a little too small. I want to run around and destroy a huge freaking area, even unlocking an entire city doesn't give you that big of an area to run around in.
No way to fight several computer opponents at once. I want to be able to pick up an enemy, hurl them at someone else. Finding other people willing to play against you can be hard at times, I'd just like the ability to take on a few computer opponents at once.
There's a few bugs. I've had computer opponents literally go flying from one end of the game to another...sure it was a well timed leap + rage attack using destroyerah (or however it's spelled)...but the airtime was immense. It ruined a great attempt at a speed run when my opponent spent about 40 seconds flying through the air...then had to go running to them.
On second thought...the bugs wouldn't be too bad...if I could save a match and replay it later on. Super monkey ball...F-Zero...several other games provide that feature. If I'm going to lose because of a bug, I want to at least be able to show what happened to other people. - jjeeff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4godzilla games can be really fun if done right.
- sexycommando, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4it's Mecha Streisand!
- StevethePirate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Stop looking at me, swan!
- TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Pipeworks is based right in my hometown. I've taken a tour of their building before. It's really neat seeing videogames in the early stages and how they're built.
- jrathert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The main reason is that you said the same thing as the person above, and in that respect, I'll repeat my response to them:
There's a little game called Super Smash Bros Brawl that's supposed to be sticking to the tried and true control scheme with the GC controller. Fighters on Wii haven't exactly proven the usefulness of the Wiimote, so it's pretty reasonable (IMO anyway) to make it a point to let people know Wii's main controller is being put to use instead of one of the others.
/making you out to be what Gir53457 said you were - 13tongimp, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Just about every Godzilla game ever made has been crap.
- levyjl1988, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I hope they include the American Godzilla!
- Elric1977, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It'sprobably best to post when the majority of people are online. If you post during school/work hours people won't see it til they get home in most cases....
Oh, and he's right God does hate you, I heard him talking about it over coffee this morning. He's plotting more ways to smite you. Just a heads up ;) - samarink, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Gotta argue that somewhat - it provides the most important info in a more condenced form, while also giving links to other things you may want to see.
- Elric1977, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Um, because he knows what is "good" and "not good" in his opinion... just a hunch.
I also have never played a single GOOD Godzilla game... not very excited here either. - D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is this anything like Godzilla on acid?
- krakelohm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4"...complete with Wiimote control of the massive creatures..."
So your going to control the characters on the Wii using the Wii controller... wow. - sillyelf74, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think it looks pretty cool. I especially like the part in the description where they say "Godzilla can be walking in one direction, attacking with his claws in another, firing his weapon in a third direction, and swinging his tail at a rear target all at the same time." Too cool!
- RobotKing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I hope King Ghidorah is in it.
On another note King of the monsters should be remade. - jrathert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@TheWorm - That's awesome, I definitely want to tour a few developers' places before I die.
- Griefer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I just hope that it's better then the cube version. That was complete crap.
- wakachamo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3lol. >:
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i thought it was hilarious when watching will wright do a presentation on the Sims from a few years ago, he said that one of his favourite games was Godzilla: Destroy all monsters
- razorpit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well he should play Destroy All Monsters Melee because it's great and is easily the best Godzilla game out there. If you don't like that game then you shouldn't be playing video games made after movies that involve grown men in rubber suits beating each other up and falling on cardboard buildings.
- Flummoxer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Someone said the same thing moments before you.
- tektalk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Being godzilla, and controlling his hands to hurt monsters sounds really fun, If the game is really good, then I'm definitely getting a Wii.
- supermanred, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2His grammar is correct. If he wanted to say he didnt play them at all he would just have to remove the word "good" from his sentence. Leaving his sentence as is, he is saying he has played godzilla games, but he has never played a good one. They are all terrible.
- supermanred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1NOW I must buy a wii! Goshira has sold me one wii unit. Go Go Goshira!!!!
- supermanred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Search for the cowbell instructional video posted here on digg. funny.
- MechaFenris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I am ALL over this game. I loved the previous installments (there were a few issues with them, but nothing a good two-player brawl couldn't handle), and now I have the 'killer app' that makes me want a Wii. ;)
Besides.. I love the movies too. :D
It looks like it's going to be a blast! :D - alexkorova, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Godzilla: DAMM is a great game, me and my friends played the 'Cube version to death. You just have to overlook the bad graphics and actually take a few minutes (it doesn't take that long if you read the manual and try it out) to learn the controls it's really fun.
- colouredlights, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1thxinfo
- mydave, on 08/01/2008, -0/+0Godzilla on Wii? great!
http://search.ashtech.info/games - McGrude, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Why am I being dugg down? I mean was it really necessary to state that they'd be using the Wii controller for the controlls? It would be like stating that MS is releasing a game that uses the XBox controller, or Sony is releasing a game that uses the SIXAXIS controller. It's obvious that new titles on these new platforms will (in almost all cases) use the platforms' native controllers.
- Gir53457, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Because you are an ass.
- jrathert, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Actually, there's a little game called Super Smash Bros Brawl that's supposed to be sticking to the tried and true control scheme with the GC controller. Fighters on Wii haven't exactly proven the usefulness of the Wiimote, so it's pretty reasonable (IMO anyway) to make it a point to let people know Wii's main controller is being put to use instead of one of the others.
Nice try at being a troll though. - skiman101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0if this turns out to be a good game id get a wii just for it
- seandfeeney, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The Digg article submitting algorithm sucks. It all depends on timing. If your article get submitted then someone submits the same article after you they are going to get dugg not you. This happened to me earlier. I submitted an article 20 min before someone else and they got all the diggs. The upcoming stories page needs some serious revamping.
- jrathert, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I never played it Godzilla: DAMM, but I heard good things. Hopefully they'll pull off another game that's great for brawler fans.
- razorpit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"I have never played a good Godzilla game. They're all terrible."
How would you know then? - NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Is that the DragonZord on the left?
- flamethrowerxxl, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1But... I just put up a story exactly like this hours before this one...
http://digg.com/gaming_news/Godzilla_confirmed_for_Wii
... How come this story got 114 diggs and mine only got 14? - BuGz213, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1i thought they are making Rampage Wii
- Squigly, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1@BassCadet
"I have never played a good Godzilla game. They're all terrible."
WHAT?!? How can you say something is terrible, if you've never tried it? That's like saying "I've never tried Pepsi, but Coke tastes better." WTF? - BassCadet, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3I have never played a good Godzilla game. They're all terrible.
- McGrude, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3"Atari and Pipeworks Software are teaming up to bring Godzilla: Unleashed to Wii, complete with Wiimote control of the massive creatures."
Wow. They're releasing for the Wii and using the Wii controller? Who'd have thought.
/sarcasm
