Even though Sony has been through tough times the past year and a half with the PS3, you gotta agree, Sony finally realizes what a big mistake they made just depending on its PS2 userbase to buy the PS3, and finally making a bunch of great games.

MGS4is a solid buy too but I can wait on that. the god of war series has a nasty curse thjough. David jaffe who directed the first game quit Sony after teh game was finihsed and the director og GOW2 did the same. God of war 2 was still great though so hopefully whoever is directing this one does a good job.

Great announcements though, I mean with that game for the hardcore wii gamers, what's that oh yea, Animal Crossings. Where are my games Nintendo!? Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, All Sports Games, Halo, Gears of War, Final Fantasy, Monkey Island, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Tourismo, GTA, XCOM, Civilization, Theme Park/Theme Hospital, Sonic, Mario, etc
That is how the computer game world survives then we get some great new IP's and boom they get a sequal. like Tebixan said game sequals are better than the original because they are more familiar with tech or because they have moved onto a more powerful platform. The only time a sequal is worse than the past game is when the past game was so good that practically nothing is better than it. IMO Mario Kart 64, Vice City, HCTP, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Street Fighter 2, XCOM Enemy Unknown - etc. The beauty is the sequals to them games will no doubt have impressed millions of people. - scarz0ftime, on 07/16/2008, -1/+2Great Odin's raven!

- Duositex, on 07/16/2008, -1/+2Don't you realize that the reason they removed backwards compatibility from the PS3 is that they were still selling so many PS2 units? They realized early on that those PS2 fans are not jumping ship for the PS3 because of price even WITH backwards compatibility. That machine was not only more expensive to make, but not as popular as the PS2. So they're milking that thing for all it's worth. If they stopped production of PS2 titles those folks would still not jump ship for the PS3 and they'd simply lose the sales. Long story short: I'm happy I bought a PS3 on launch day.

Unless I'm missing something (and I would love to be corrected, as I love God of War and would be happy to hear about some new innovations), I don't see much to look forward to in this part.
