- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+33I think he's saying his kid's really excited about the game.
Looks like digg's outsourcing comments now. - nymphetamine, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23OMG, I just crapped my pants....that was AWESOME!!
- neverender, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Wow, systemerror should remember, not every digg user is from America.
GOW2 looks awesome, is there a release date yet? - w0rd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16That's what parents are for.
- VadimKatchkakov, on 10/12/2007, -8/+20This is make my yongest son much expectation - can't not to wait for it!
- starvingarvin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11IIII
huh? it's rated mature, for adults...
Should there be no R-rated movies/ pornography? or any content at all intended for adults? Of course some kids will end up playing it... - Dragular, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13This am happy go fun time! Do crazy American dance time for joy!!! ^_^
- sithvicious, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11who cares about his grammar? maybe this is not his first language but he did manage to convey what he wanted to say. the message got across and thats all that matters.
- Jeremy82465, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Of course its violent, its called God of WAR!!! Not ***** god of fluffy bunnies. If you dont want a violent game buy . . . . well ***** I guess you have to get a violent game, but if you want a less violent game get manhunt.*
(Yes that is a joke for those of you on Digg who dont know what they look like, and that seems like a lot of you.) - robotplague, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Ah yes, ripping the heads off of mythological creatures never gets old.
- diggenerate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7too bad we have to wait until Feb 07' for this one.
- deadbaby, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10It is violent. The war in Iraq is violent. Animals (including humans) are violent. Ignoring violence isn't going to help a child cope with the reality of the world today.
- Durrok, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6It's called mythology for a reason....
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The animation is awesome. Can't wait to beat the crap out of some mythical monsters.
- shauncullen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Grow a pair, Sally.
- apoc06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5i understand your point. with so-so games we tend to abhor sequels, but with excellent games we WANT sequels.
the original game was great. it was great to the level where you were left wanting more. now, here we are... we have been presented with more; sony is giving the people what they want... if the first game was soso, no one would care.
you probably dislike the re-release of metal gear solid subsistence too, and i right? in this case, i think sony is doing a great deal of fan service. its what fans of the first game have been asking for. its showing consumers that they havent abandoned us for the ps3 yet , like MS has done to the original xbox. if this game were nothing but an expansion pack to the first game, i would still want to play it. sometimes changing the core mechanics of a series can kill it. look at the jak and daxter series, the prince of persia series, or even ratchet and clank. series that merely change a few ingredients, fix complaints and expand on the overall story are amongst the top selling games: halo, metal gear, grand theft auto...
personally i would love to have a solid polished GoW2 [expansion pack] on my ps2, [or in ps2 format played on my ps3], than have a shoddy, rushjob sequel that was compromised just so that it could make the ps3 launch. - Dragular, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I think the general rule of thumb is that if you don't want a violent game buy anything with "Barbie," "Neopets," or "Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen" in the title.
Then again, I think I'd rather my kid grow up warped on violent games than grow up pansified and afraid to play videogames as a result of those Olsen Twin games. - redheadfred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4crap...i already gave up 3 days of my life to the first one....oh well, guess i'll do it again!
- Giggy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Did Kratos just kill an enemy on the back of a griffin and then tear off one of its wings? That is total bad ass!
+Digg just for that (and the fact that it's God of War). - Jovan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Wow, definetly digg++. I guess we can expect all those things that the game's creator David Jaffe said to be more true than not.
By the way, it's called "God of War 2: Divine Retribution" - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4looks like a good game, Id love to see what Jack Tompson has to say about this!
ohh, ok Jack.... now STFU! - numptydumpty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@ Neverender
tbh mate there are plenty of grammatical mistakes made on here by people who ARE from America. Just because they're American, doesn't mean they understand the English language :/ - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3after the bloodshed who will pay for the dry cleaner?.
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3But the wait will be worth it. If you watched the documentary stuff in the first God of War, you'd know that they had to cut out a lot of stuff to make the deadline.
Hopefully, there'll be more than 2 bosses in this game (Ares doesn't count, cause he sucked). - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6"This am happy go fun time! Do crazy American dance time for joy!!! ^_^"
Balkie Bartakomis?!!! Is that you?! - thejhoseph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2im sure their will be a certain age rating on this one for the violence...
Its kinda of hard to imagine this warping a kids mind, their not gonna start runnin up to people and ripping their limbs off. - SideshowBob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I was late to the game and waited for-evar for GOW to drop in price. When I saw it hit the $20 price point, bought it up the next day. FANTASTIC game. I have barely been able to stop playing it since I picked it up. If it wasn't for this game, my PS2 would still be gathering dust. GOW2 gets an automatic "buy" rating in my book.
- burtonownz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Good, I can't wait. Although, I COULD have waited if they said it was coming out on the PS3...but, what you can you do?
- LittleOni, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i played the hell out of the first one when it came out. It kept me off of WoW for nearly a week (whenever I was mucho obsessed with WoW). It reminded me so much of the Double Dragon/Battle Toads/ Ninja Gaiden 1,2,3 days. Spent more time swearing at this game than I have in a REALLY long time, but when I got through something I felt like did something. Too many games now don't seem to reward players for their gametime, they just move you into the next thing. Jaffe did an amazing job I hope his team does him justice since he'll be playing a less on-hands roll with this one.
- shauncullen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2He is working on a PSP game that "will make you cry" if you play it. Apparently.
- naisanza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i cant wait to have it in my hands so i can smash the face of a buttugly monster thing too!
- Giggy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2So other than twisting heads off of gorgons, ripping harpies in half, stabbing minotaurs in the face, sacrificing a person, and repeatedly stabbing cyclopes from the first game weren't as bad? It's called God of War 2 for a reason.
- greenbox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2i haven't even played the first game and i know it's gonna be awsome, i'll check it the first one this summer.
- TheNik, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Jacky Boy's been out of the spotlight recently.
It's been... peaceful. - Boredom431, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3@llll
Young kids can inevitably play any M-rated games as long as the parents don't care. Sure this is more violent then the average game but in a way I kind of think killing mythical creatures is better then killing terrorists in CS and using the word gay everytime he gets killed. Then again when I go to a game store and try to buy a M-rated game the clerk just asks to see my parents and my mom will let me buy the game as long as it's not GTA and I explain the whole violence part to her and why it got the rating. I've seen my fair share of mature TV, anime, and games and I don't let anyone of them effect me because it's not real. - opnotic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Anyone know why only every other Youtube videos play for me? This one here just says "loading" forever. Many on youtube do.
- mc1123, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This is pretty cool, seeing as they have taken the liberty of screwing with greek myhtology.
- sarahlane2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Badass, can't wait for this one. GoW is hands down one of the best games I've ever played. Just hope they keep up the great quality in this one.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The first was great and I'm sure this one will be too.
- Leech, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2wow! I want it now!! :)
- macewan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm not even a gamer and thought that was an awesome game.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'm not saying this will be bad, in any way. I'm just saying this looks more of an expansion on the story rather then anything based on gameplay, or graphics. Forgive me for saying this, but every game that goes to "2" or whatever sequel, get's an upgrade in the story, the gameplay is upgraded as well, and so are the graphics. All I see here, is an expansion. I'm sorry, maybe when it hits "CLASSICS" and goes down to 29.99 I'll play it, but otherwise, Im not going to buy this at 50$, paying for a whole new game when all I'm getting is the original GOD OF WAR with a different storyline, and as much as some people would opt for that to expand on the original storyline, I for one, would rather have an interest in the expansion of the game as a whole.
Not just one secular part of it.
And no, im not saying a great storyline is bad. I'm saying, storyline isn't the only thing that makes a game. - kunit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1why the hell do i have a negative 2? i might as well make fun of myself
- dastafarin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@IIII
Not allowing things to be created or distributed that is intended for adults under the notion that a kid *might* get a hold of it is a terrible reason. Why should all the people who are of legal age to play the game be punished because some parent isn't responsible enough to mandate what their kid plays or lets their friends play. Under that sort of thinking, no form of entertainment should ever involve anything of an adult nature, whether it be language, violence, sex, or anything else because a kid will eventually be "warped" by it. - Keon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I wish you knew what "secular" means...
- shauncullen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Think about it: Kingdom Hearts II = massive RPG with lots of story, voicework, etc. PoP and GoW: less story and more level design, easier to sequalize, less content.
- MadceltUK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Can't wait for this, GoW was one of the best games I had played for such a long time. Even if this is still the same game in essence, it is not a bad thing.
If it ain't broke don't fix it! - Kdog22, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2God was War was without a doubt the best PS2 game bar none! Smooth as silk controls, incredible story, tremendous cut scenes, replay value it had it all.. Now 2 comes out.... Definitely gonna be a call in sick day for work when it comes out...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Question:
Prince of Persia? Rapid development. God of War? Rapid development. Kingdom Hearts? Delays and development worse than Vista.
Why IS that!? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Jacky Boy's been out of the spotlight recently.

Maybe someone killed him finally, let us pray to the God of War that this be true -
