- bruins72, on 11/07/2008, -7/+40I've been looking forward to this game but the article really bugs me. First off, pet peeve of mine here... there is a difference between "sense" and "since". Please learn it if you're going to use the words. It annoys me about as much as "then" vs "than" and "they're" vs "their" vs "there". Call me anal but it drives me nuts.
Now getting away from proper word usage... the article itself. It's talking about the game. Then in one paragraph it goes on to say...
"The movie's script was written by Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd and the story is set two years after Ghostbusters II, with Manhattan overrun a third time by ghosts and supernatural forces."
That's actually the game's script. A script for an actual third Ghostbusters movie is currently in the work but last I heard it was some of the people behind The Office writing it. I also heard some talk about Judd Apatow and some of his cohorts being involved, as well as Harold Ramis. Still, the article is about the game, not the movie.
In regards to the game itself, I had heard about the game being developed months ago but it was supposed to have been released in October of '08. Then there were problems with the developer or the publisher and it's status was in limbo. It's a shame. I'd love to be playing this on my Wii right now. Imagine controlling the stream from the laser pack with your Wii mote? - imhalfpirate, on 11/09/2008, -0/+23Doe...Ray....EGONNN!

Dr. Peter Venkman: They're usually pretty stiff.
Dana Barrett: You're more like a game show host. - xjoi, on 11/09/2008, -0/+12Dugg for anal

- fearlessfx, on 11/09/2008, -0/+9I am the gatekeeper. Are you the keymaster?
- illuuu, on 11/09/2008, -0/+8It's a proton pack, not a laser pack.

- ghostbusters, on 11/09/2008, -0/+6I'm fuzzy on the whole good / bad thing, Egon. What do you mean by bad?
- ghostbusters, on 11/09/2008, -0/+5So be good for goodness sake! Whoaaaaaa! Somebodies coming!
- zigardne, on 11/09/2008, -0/+5Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously, and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.
- InspectorGadget, on 11/09/2008, -0/+5"Egon, your mucus."
- lcarsdeveloper, on 11/09/2008, -0/+5In related Ghostbusters news, Master Replicas has announced that next year they'll be releasing replica Ghostbusters props!
There's a Proton Pack and a Ghost Trap coming, both with lights and sounds based on the original Sony props:
This is the official site: http://www.5552368.com
(Before you bury this link for looking like spam, keep in mind that 555-2368 was the Ghostbusters phone number!)
Next year is going to be a great time for Ghostbusters fans! - zigardne, on 11/09/2008, -0/+5This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions!
What do you mean "biblical"?
What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor. Real wrath of God type stuff! Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!
Forty years of darkness, earthquakes, and volcanos!
The dead rising from the grave!
Human sacrifices, dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria! - burnin8r28, on 11/09/2008, -0/+5i'm gonna call you an *****.
- triplec110h, on 11/09/2008, -0/+4This bitch is NOT toast!!
- ghostbusters, on 11/09/2008, -0/+4Ghostbusters!
- Elliuotatar, on 11/09/2008, -0/+3Two ion arms? That's rediculous. Why'd they modify the pack so heavily? And why is the proton stream seperate orange and blue beams?
- Langford, on 11/09/2008, -0/+3For six systems? So what are the chances they will actually put much effort into making the Wii controls work, as opposed to being lazy and trying to graft common control triggers to the Wii motions in a way that will be weird? *cursing under breath* Alright, maybe I'm jumping the gun, I'll reserve judgment until I see the game. Maybe they will do it right, heck Bully is great on the Wii and it's a port. It just seems like they've got pure fuel for Murphy's law at work here, and franchises with established fan bases get the shaft more often than not.
- mmittimm, on 11/09/2008, -0/+3I used to play Ghostbusters on my Apple //c. I remember it well because it played a really loud, 1bit rendering of the theme song as soon as it loaded.
- bbardlbradd, on 11/09/2008, -0/+2I'm going to use this all of the time now.
Me: "Don't add garlic to that stew"
They: "Why not?"
Me: "Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously, and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light." - snareguy17, on 11/09/2008, -0/+2I promise to not cross the streams.
- Sornos, on 11/09/2008, -0/+2If it sells, it sells. There is no impetus for a developer to master and implement great Wii motion control because it will sell pretty much the same if they tacked on functionally average controls. The portion of the sales base that actually wants and judges their purchase on motion functionality is a tiny minority compared to the people that will buy it regardless of the controls.
- Hobbes24, on 11/09/2008, -0/+2did not get the space ghost reference
- Zippo, on 11/09/2008, -0/+2Da na na na na, danananana, da na na na na, GHOSTBUSTERS!

- mattvander, on 11/10/2008, -0/+2I'm gonna call my mom

- Weezergames, on 11/09/2008, -0/+2Game of the Year in 09
- Bladwor, on 11/09/2008, -0/+2...you're anal.
- lcarsdeveloper, on 11/10/2008, -0/+2They had nothing to do with the game, they're just going to publish it when it's released. They're not rewriting the script, or taking over the development.
- Lankerson, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1you're
- jcroweall7, on 11/09/2008, -2/+3Its = Possessive ("The cat licked its paw"), It's = It is ("It's getting late, I'm going to go home.")

- floppytaco, on 11/09/2008, -1/+2I am sad to see that Atari is in charge of this game. They have taint every franchise they touch with horrible and boring games.
