Epic stated that this isn't possible, as MS wants to preserve their TrueSkill thing, playing ranked matches with friends with different TrueSkill rankings would mess up the system, apparently. It's doubtful that we will see any ranked matches with friends anymore, at least without searching. - UCFartstudntJON, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Hopefully it will be a few new maps for multilayer, glitch patches, New game types like re spawn please!

This game is made for CTF, and would offer unique gameplay options for this mode considering that I've never played CTF in such a duck-and-cover style game. Besides, didn't Cliffy B basically invent CTF? Anyway, free new content is great, and new maps would be enough, but I can dream can't I????

- soxpride, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So if it's impossible to have team ranked matches with friends, then what are they going to do about Halo3? The party system in Halo2 is what made the online so good. And when you were in a group in Halo2, everyone was ranked with the highest ranked player. So that solved the ranking mismatch. So why can't Gears get a party system?

I think that the game is on the verge of pretty goodness or ultimate greatness, showing that they plan to have an openly expanding game is a step in the ultimate greatness direction as it is. Plus the game could use some extra maps.

What really needs fixing is the option to invite your friends into your ranked games, and the option to boot people certainly wouldn’t hurt either.

You can have ranked games with friends. Just tell them what kind of game you set up ie. 7 rounds Warzone, and all they have to do is a ranked match search and your host name will appear and then they can join you in a ranked match. - taxman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1If they started working on it before the game was even released,it got to be something big..
