- CrispyPassion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16According to an Administrator on the Epic Games forums it was just a minor compatibility fix. Not a big surprise considering Gears of War was recently released in Japan.
- oldtimegamer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Direct quote from Mark Rein is, "It is a minor compatibility update. No gameplay or functionality changes at this time."
- kinesis8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Their last patch screwed up the resolution for those using a VGA cable. Epic already confirmed they would fix that problem as soon as possible so this could be their update patch for those using VGA.
- jrsmith, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Any fix to this game would be great... the last patch fixed the old BS problems but added more problems like connection disruption when someone leaves during the game. The game seems much more buggy since the first patch so hopefully this fixes it
- halosniper7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10^i dare you to shut the ***** up.
- TheSaladMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6It's not, I still have crappy 960x600 after updating.
- soyjoe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7seriously, i really wish diggers would stop using the word 'quietly' to describe news items. a company doesn't have to issue a press release for each minor update or person fired from the company. plus, using the word 'quietly' often indicates an unsubstantiated skepticism towards the company or a veiled indication that the company's 'silence' is an intentional act meant to keep consumers uninformed.
'quietly' on the front page in the past 30 days:

- Lazrius, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@haooken I am using a 1280x1024 monitor also and before the first patch it was awesome, but afterwards it downscales the game to *****.
- Soup4Brains, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Probably just a coincidence. Try hitting it.
I'm not joking; when I first got mine I had the 3 lights of death. I slapped the side of it once, restarted it, and it worked. - fusionFactor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Buried due to innacuraciees. They clearly state on that site that it's a minor update.
- Soulhuntre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I have no problems on my VGA cabled system.
- dharcha1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2im playing on a 1024x768 resolution on my samsung syncmaster 730B and the last update fixed the aspect ratio on my screen. it looks a lot better now, so i dont know what other problems are. i do have to say that lego star wars 2 needs an update to fix the aspect ratio for the vga cable. it keeps playing in widescreen mode for me.
- Goken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2When I installed the update nothing seemed to have changed.
- kopaka649, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Resolution/aspect is (still) normal for a 1360x768 (16:9) TV over VGA.
- mikevickrocks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I know this is probably just a fluke, but after I installed the patch, I consistently get a "Disc Read Error." The weird thing is that my disc is brand new, but w/e, hopefully it is just a fluke. Just a warning...
- djh816, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1im talkin bout hosting games though. host lag has randomly seemed to appear...
- haooken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@Lazirus: Hmmm. I must have started playing it after updating it, so I can't compare it. Interesting. I'll definitely keep an eye out for future updates then. Thanks for the info.
- djh816, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3maybe my mind is jsut playing tricks on me but i definately feel that the shotgun is less accurate/powerful despite what they said.
- sinembarg0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The last update fixed the aspect ratio of GoW on "normal" (4:3) monitors, but it then messed up the round score display (the part that tells you how many rounds you've won.) It now puts it right under where is says points and it is hard to discern the differences between a 0 and a 3 and an 8 for example.
- haooken, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3How is the resolution messed up? I'm using the VGA cable on my 1280x1024 screen (equivalent resolution set on 360), and it looks friggin' awesome, I think. Is this an isolated problem, or should I really be looking at something much more awesome?
- mca7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh no I just lost my bladder control again. Damn, my parents just let me out of my diapers. Damn you s2grace and your
(literally) ***** blog. - e03179, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The fix has something to do with non US hardware and the GoW game. It just opened up in JAPAN, so this patch is for them. This info could be found on the EPIC forums just after the patch was released: http://hushedcasket.com/node/1686#comment-15273
- robwolf100, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Some times if all 8 players don't select ready, the counter wont go past 4 seconds. Any one else having this problem?
- e03179, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Actually, users on the XBOX.com forums are reporting 3 flashing red lights, also, after installing the latest GoW update.
- UCFartstudntJON, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3After I installed the update my XBOX broke! 3 flashing red lights, Hardware Failure! my what the hell, what the freaking freaking hell!
- jrsmith, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Well when I spend $400 on a console and $60 on a game I expect to know what they are updating when they are updating..
- gccsilver, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2When the game lags, the shotgun pretty much becomes useless.
- silentfool, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1after installing the update my audio options changed from 5.1 to stereo in the dashboard. kind of odd.
- reevolutn, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1mmmpooop
- oldtimegamer, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1You need a day job
- Swampthing, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1Not an update, just a bug fix. An update would include new added material. Buried for inaccuracy.
- fallenone05, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1Shhhhhhhh...here comes another update
- xSEED, on 10/12/2007, -10/+0after 1st update it looks more jagged IE aliased for the noob/tards
- TheSaladMan, on 10/12/2007, -21/+3Digg down
