Gamespot's Hilarious Preview of 'The Incredible Hulk' Game!
gamespot.com — I'll probably have more fun reading this hands-on impression written by Brian Ekberg than playing the actual game. Excerpt: "Hulk catch robot foot and not let him stomp Hulk. Then he throw giant robot down and punch him. Hulk do this many times. He also throw taxi cabs at robot eye. That one nice thing about New York City; it easy to get taxi."

- sanman, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1I'd like to throw punches with the Wiimote/nunchuk. Now that would be satisfying - to throw Hulk-style punches and see stuff crumble, or get smashed up.
- michaelb323, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1ME like New York!
- NGliam, on 05/21/2008, -0/+17I love lamp.
- HOTM, on 05/21/2008, -33/+237***** Gamespot
- Ecanem, on 05/21/2008, -15/+4In the arse. With a huge "death ray."
- taradisiac, on 05/21/2008, -7/+7Amen
- diskopo, on 05/21/2008, -21/+16It's one thing to say ***** gamespot when they do questionable stuff (recent controversy), but when they produce good content you need to give them credit.
- Cdog923, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4When they pull their heads out of their asses one day and find this "good" content, then maybe they'll get any sort of credit. However, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.
- metroidragon, on 05/21/2008, -17/+3***** you.
- thegreathal, on 05/21/2008, -2/+8I was a paying member for 2 years, and the CBS acquisition may help...
but it's still not okay to go back to Gamespot. - paradexes, on 05/21/2008, -10/+18And pee in their eye sockets....with AIDS.
- stephengotlost, on 05/21/2008, -10/+4Gamespot bashing is trendy.

- Tishiablo, on 05/21/2008, -11/+4Yeah I kinda stopped going there once they gave THPS3 a 10...
- smek2, on 05/21/2008, -1/+1You DO realize that other publications gave it also almost perfect score and so did most of the reader reviews?
- geeddra, on 05/21/2008, -10/+2Gamespot bashing is trendy.
- zapass, on 05/21/2008, -1/+4deserved, again
- cloud4197, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2accurate, again
- sodade, on 05/21/2008, -3/+6I haven't paid much attn to game review sites lately, but I used to love Gamespot for the layout and detail, etc. What is a good replacement site?
- smek2, on 05/21/2008, -1/+4Wow, don't know why somebody would digg you down for your comment. My recommendation is to stay away from the "big sites", they are bloated and in no way better then the smaller ones. For quick news and screenshots i visit www.the-magicbox.com/, for everything RPG related i use www.rpgamer.com and www.siliconera.com is also quite interesting. I hardly ever visit Gamespot or IGN anymore, let alone 1UP.
- quasimot0, on 05/21/2008, -2/+1GameSpot lost credibility when they gave Tony Hawk 3 a 10 out of 10.

- aDFP, on 05/21/2008, -1/+1I think we did this meme already, didn't we?
- duggtodeath, on 05/21/2008, -9/+121It was funny for the first paragraph and then it got kinda meh.
- akatherder, on 05/21/2008, -1/+19I read the summary on Digg. Hah, kind of funny.
I look at the article. Oh, that's where the summary came from.
I scroll past the picture. Seriously, still doing the Hulk-smash routine?
Scroll to end of article. Yeah, I'm not reading all that crap. - snoox, on 05/21/2008, -3/+5you should read it out loud
- mith167, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2agreed, shtick could have ended at the first paragraph.
- akatherder, on 05/21/2008, -1/+19I read the summary on Digg. Hah, kind of funny.
- wontstoptalking, on 05/21/2008, -4/+80"For some reason, Hulk game let Hulk take subway to get from one spot to next. Hulk surprised New York let Hulk use subway after he destroy half of city, but Hulk must admit, it convenient."
So....this probably won't be that good of a game, I'm guessing.- theaceoffire, on 05/21/2008, -0/+12I don't mind them taking you a bit out of the story to cut down on constantly walking 30 miles to the next part of the action. Yeah its kind of silly, but walking through rubble gets old eventually.
- acetv, on 05/21/2008, -0/+6Can't Hulk jump a few miles at a time?
- JBobtheGr8, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1It will probably replace the equally realistic "Jump miles in a single bound" markers from Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. And I DARE you to call that a bad game.
- theaceoffire, on 05/21/2008, -0/+12I don't mind them taking you a bit out of the story to cut down on constantly walking 30 miles to the next part of the action. Yeah its kind of silly, but walking through rubble gets old eventually.

- brainboy77, on 05/21/2008, -21/+48this is pretty old. also, the douche bag that made gamespot into cashwhore got laid off. stop dissing gamespot and try to look at it from a neutral point of view. the guys are trying really hard to make the site good again and biased ***** like this is ruining the site
- kingUssop, on 05/21/2008, -3/+13An editorial review site doesn't get second chances when they're caught on the take. They're supposed to be on the consumer's side, not the advertisers. How can we trust them now when behind-the-scenes we can't see any of it... or more importantly why should we trust them?
- theshalit, on 05/21/2008, -3/+9other guy said it best. They pretty much ripped this off from the The Onion. http://www.theonion.com/content/node/33980
- chillypacman, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1lol, I just knew this would happen after all that crap. Yes, I was attacked by various people for saying the obvious: Nothing bad will happen to gamespot, the worst is some crap in the short term but nothing significant over the long stretch.
Yeah I was absoloutely right. Never underestimate the bandwagon jumpers, they get off faster than they get on.
- Elliottx, on 05/21/2008, -16/+3I think I like Gamespot again purely based on this. xD
- FullmetalGinta, on 06/10/2008, -0/+1ITS NOT THAT FUNNY
- robalesi, on 05/21/2008, -9/+78They pretty much ripped this off from the The Onion. - http://www.theonion.com/content/node/33980
- TiCL, on 05/21/2008, -5/+1And http://incrediblehulk.blogspot.com/
- GohanGVO, on 05/21/2008, -4/+21Clearly, The Onion was the first source in the universe to have taken 'Hulk speech' to text form. :p
- randomerratum, on 06/10/2008, -2/+17Um... that's like being the second person to impersonate George Bush. Not exactly plagiarism.
- Punkazz189, on 05/21/2008, -1/+10The onion totally ripped that off from Marvel Comics.
- Dracusis, on 05/21/2008, -2/+3Yeah, but not only is it in Hulk-Speak, it's also an article written from the perspective of the subject's main protagonist, and it also just happens to be about the same subject. If they did it with a batman or spiderman or even non-superhero article then I could probably let it go, but having read theonion article previously it was rather obvious gamespot were playing the "me too" card.
- b3astie, on 05/21/2008, -13/+2Oh I get it, they're talking like how The Hulk would talk! Family Guy is so funny.
- Turambar, on 05/21/2008, -15/+59buried for gamespot.

- manteca29, on 05/21/2008, -5/+32i dont think diggers realy know the meaning of the word hilarious. it shows up way too many times for stories that are anything but.
- rollerboy, on 05/21/2008, -5/+2Saying something is hilarious is a opinion. Usually the opinion of the submitter. Nobody cares about "guy running", people care about "'Hilarious', guy running"
- TheRealJMX, on 05/21/2008, -2/+23"Hulk tell Abomination to 'bring it' because Hulk will take him to Funky Town, where Hulk is mayor." Classic.
- twtmc, on 05/21/2008, -14/+25Concept stolen from The Onion. Buried.
- sovietninja, on 05/21/2008, -1/+8Onion stole from Hulk. Hulk lets Ang Lee direct movie. Hulk revenge.
- walkea1, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1I'm sure this idea was done before the onion. its not like the onion came out with that article last week, it was from a few years ago. You guys are so used to digg you assume everything is a dupe.
- xdevit, on 05/21/2008, -1/+23HULK HATE BEES!

- kidwookiee, on 05/21/2008, -5/+22I wish Hulk would smash Lamespot.
- taradisiac, on 05/21/2008, -6/+13***** Gamespot. Their forums are almost as fascist and restrictive as the ones at Television Without Pity. One day I'll get Anon to... you know, do their thing.
- rollerboy, on 05/21/2008, -2/+4they are not your personal army so stfu or gtfo.
- taradisiac, on 05/21/2008, -1/+1They can be tricked. Google "Tylor King".
- rollerboy, on 05/21/2008, -2/+4they are not your personal army so stfu or gtfo.
- sykotik, on 05/21/2008, -5/+6Hilarious? Hardly. How about extremely annoying to read? I think that's a much more apt title.
- Gonasadude, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4Exactly. The only reason I kept reading it was because I figured that something must be good in it since it was on the FP. Alas, I was wrong. :(
- guess88, on 05/21/2008, -1/+0Gave me a smirk, but hilarious? No. You need away living under rock.
- MarkusGarvey, on 05/21/2008, -0/+7it not easy being green...
- bizmowacka, on 05/21/2008, -6/+18gamespot is still around?
- metroidragon, on 05/21/2008, -8/+11I'm glad to see Gamespot being brought to the front page again not for an anti-Gamespot rant. Those fellows have been trying really hard to earn the communities trust back, and I for one believe they deserve another chance.
- barkus, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3What did gamespot do? (I am assuming some kind of bias)
- startmenu, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3They fired one of the reviewers shortly after he posted a ***** review of Kane & Lynch, the makers of which just happened to be sponsoring the hell out of the site at the time.
- metroidragon, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3Correct. Jeff Gerstmann was fired after he posted a generally negative review for Kane and Lynch. Eidos Interactive, which was a main sponsor for the site at the time and developed K&L, pressured CNET to dismiss Jeff and change the review. Following this clear breach of editorial integrity, there was a mass exodus of Gamespot reviewers, including Alex Navarro, Frank Provo and Ryan Davis.
Eventually, the CNET manager who was responsible for the termination of Jeff was laid off, and Gamespot has been working diligently to earn the communities trust back. Although they made a huge mistake, they paid for it with the loss of many creative minds and many cancelled subscriptions (including my own). I'm giving them a second chance now, because prior to this incident they had always given fair and accurate reviews, and I'm hoping that they can re-establish the credibility they once had.
Side note: Gerstmann, Davis, and occasionally Navarro have started a new site, http://www.giantbomb.com/ - it's going to fully launch this summer, but it's still got a few podcasts and so forth on it.
- hungarianhc, on 05/21/2008, -1/+3I, for one, believe you eat poo

- dmark77, on 05/21/2008, -9/+19Did somebody say Gamespot?
You mean that organization that bases their reviews on what the game publisher tells them? That Gamespot?

- coresnake, on 05/21/2008, -3/+1Hulk wish pseudo sandbox games would vanish from face of earth
- paradexes, on 05/21/2008, -3/+7Gamespot has shown that it caters to vendors (aka advertising revenue) and not fair reviews. For those defending gamespot remember that. This is why people hate them. That said I did get a chuckle from the Hulk preview/review whatever it was.
- DickMasterson2, on 05/21/2008, -4/+5That ***** sucked!!!
- DickMasterson2, on 05/21/2008, -7/+3Buried for using hilarious for a ***** article... you sir FAIL!

- rollerboy, on 05/21/2008, -5/+1That was good. It's funny that even though I use digg a lot there are many things that I would like to say to you, I don't know how because maybe you're gonna be the one who saves me and after all you're my wonderwall.

- TripcodeMel, on 05/21/2008, -2/+0Hulk no feel like smash today. :(
- antdude, on 05/21/2008, -4/+5Hulk smash Gamespot!
- kataztrophy, on 05/21/2008, -4/+5They should have did it for one or two sentences, not the entire preview. That guy was trying way to hard to be funny and he failed in epic fashion.
- cherwilco, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1anyone know why the hulk is all chromed out in screenshot 29 of 42? (an if its not the hulk then who is it?)
- kingUssop, on 05/21/2008, -6/+1Why would you submit anything to digg from Gamespot? Look up Gerstmangate if you don't understand why everyone hates them.
- rollerboy, on 05/21/2008, -2/+3Because there are people who like gamespot and don't just fallow aimlessly at what other people dislike, some people form their own opinions. I bet you have a great dislike for Scientology too, right?
- darkchild82, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1I hate the people at CNET management for what they did to the site. I'm still upset over Jeff Gerstmann, Alex Navarro, Ryan Davis and the many others who left over 'Gerstmangate'. But I'm over it (kinda). I visit Giant Bomb and continue to visit Gamespot because there are people still there who do some good work & produce great content. Once people like Brian Ekberg leaves & the content gets boring, then I'll stop submitting stuff from them.
As for all the so-called "Gamespot" hatred - I've been on Digg long enough to know how things work around here. I don't judge users' opinion based on comments. Its cool to hate Nickelback, Linkin Park etc. here but I wouldn't be surprised if I saw the same people at their concerts. This story became popular in less than 10hrs without me even having to try hard to promote it. If it was some lesser known site - most people would've ignored it.
Yes, it may not have been "hilarious" but thats another tactic people use to get people's attention. You know, like the "This is why I love/hate Digg" posts, the "BEST/WORST ..... EVER!" etc.
P.S: @rollerboy You'd have to be a moron to actually LIKE Scientology. I'm not calling you one, I'm just saying when most people here say they dislike Scientology (unlike Linkin Park), they mean it.
- Sniper4790, on 05/21/2008, -2/+4Hulk like Digg!
- ronaldmonster, on 05/21/2008, -6/+2Why, thank wasn't funny at all.
- BugMeNot2, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3***** you, thank is always funny.
- FullmetalGinta, on 05/21/2008, -4/+5Am I the only one that didn't find that funny?
- smek2, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1No you're not.
"HULK TIRED OF TYPING ABOUT HULK GAME. Just go get game when game come out in June. Then you smash just like Hulk," -- that's neither a good, meaningful preview nor is it good comedy
- smek2, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1No you're not.
- peterhirschberg, on 05/21/2008, -2/+12Me think Hulk talk a lot like Cookie Monster.
