- borez, on 11/08/2009, -3/+96Sorry, I can't comment on this story with that ***** eyesore of a background image staring at me.
Get rid of it... it ***** sucks.
Buried.... regardless of the submission content. - MaTT2011, on 11/08/2009, -0/+41Are you talking about the dragon age ad that is currently dominating 90% of the screen?
Before it used to only take about 50%, today its getting greedy. - jeremymccurdy, on 11/08/2009, -0/+25I like the idea of a Fallout TV series more than a movie, making a movie about such massively long adventures seems like a waste. Just get some of the people that wrote Battlestar Galactica to turn it into a serialized drama and it would be ***** epic.
Also:
<-- ***** the ads. - borez, on 11/08/2009, -0/+24***** this, I'm starting a democratic vote:
http://digg.com/design/Who_on_Digg_hates_this - Jaysunli, on 11/08/2009, -2/+226 plus pages for this list?
Come on. - borez, on 11/08/2009, -0/+19Yes, yes I am.
And... if it continues this way, I ain't coming back here. FTR I've been a loyal user for over 3 years now.
Even with ad block set to block it out I'm left with a huge intrusive black border around the page.
I'll say it again... it ***** sucks. - angrytortilla, on 11/08/2009, -0/+17The fantasy storylines in successful games have the potentional to be good movies. Games like Call of Duty, are the _result_ of good movies and should never make it to film.
All I can hope is that none of these land in Uwe Boll's lap. - Firespray1138, on 11/08/2009, -1/+13Half-Life, Halo, Bioshock, and Mass Effect movies could all be awesome if done right. The Halo live action shorts have already shown that a good Halo movie is possible if done right. Hell these guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1UPMEmCqZo aren't even big budgeted and already made a kick ass live action Half-Life short.
- ricodued, on 11/08/2009, -1/+9:( I was hoping for Left 4 Dead. L4D2's demo intro movie screams cinematic glory, plus the campaigns themselves are already "movies".
The above referenced intro movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mx63j-icrpE - itssteve112, on 11/08/2009, -4/+11I can't wait for a Halo movie if it looks anything like the ODST live-action trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IklqPx3unjs&fea ...
And seriously, ***** this full page ad *****. - TriplePlay2425, on 11/08/2009, -0/+6Metal Gear Solid doesn't need a movie, it basically is one. I'm not saying that's a bad thing at all though, I love them.
And I would really like to hear that they're coming out with a Half-Life movie, but I'd be too scared that it would suck and make me cry with disappointment.
And, if done right (much like most of these suggestions), a Halo movie could be pretty cool.
I don't think Call of Duty needs a movie... it would be just another war movie.
Pac-Man? No.
Crazy Taxi? Seriously?
Bioshock could be cool too. I just hope they make it into an atmospheric action/suspense movie rather than trying to turn it into a sort of horror movies, which I could easily see them try to do. - reticulate, on 11/08/2009, -0/+5I swear to god it feels like the actual content of the page is getting thinner every time I see one of these Dragon Age-branded pages.
- Philbert, on 11/08/2009, -0/+4American McGee's Alice has been "in development" for nearly a decade. Sarah Michelle Gellar was attached years ago but I doubt she is any more. Frankly she's getting a bit old to play an 18 year old believably. Still hot of course, but not 18. I've had my fingers cross for years on this movie (yes, they are cramped), but when Tim Burton (who I love) ripped off the idea I figured it was never going to happen.
- Philbert, on 11/08/2009, -0/+4They've got to make their money somehow.
- UselessTrivia, on 11/08/2009, -0/+3Bioshock would make a pretty good movie as long as they involve the original writers.
Assassin's creed would make a good flick, but they'll probably have to wait until they've made 2 or 3 games because they'll need more material for when Desmond isn't re-living his ancestor's memories.
I'm sure there's someone out there who could turn Fallout into a believable movie franchise. It's got Peter Jackson written all over it. Seems far more like his kind of thing than a Halo movie. I'm not sure there aren't but half a dozen writers in hollywood who could pull off a Fallout script without making it suck, though. - ghostlywind, on 11/08/2009, -0/+3Look up The book of Eli from the previews it looks to be a fallout like movie and it's got Denzel Washington.
- RonADiSH, on 11/08/2009, -0/+3alice!!!
- Frogger4Truth, on 11/08/2009, -0/+3i'm hoping for a mario brothers remake
- xJDx, on 11/08/2009, -0/+3***** the background and where the ***** is Left4Dead? FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
- allisonaxe, on 11/09/2009, -0/+2Ideally, this list should be a blank page.
- Rikushix, on 11/08/2009, -0/+2Say what you want about the others but you cannot deny that a Crazy Taxi movie would be hilarious.
- itssteve112, on 11/08/2009, -0/+2There was Half-Life (4th page)
- forgeflow, on 11/08/2009, -0/+2Halo movie is dead. Jackson was working on it, funding evaporated, and he turned his attention to producing District 9. And nothing of value was lost.
Oh yeah, ditch this eyesore of a page background. - btschul, on 11/08/2009, -0/+2Do we really need a COD movie? Just get Saving Private Ryan, The Hurt Locker, and Black Hawk Down on DVD and make an afternoon of it.
- Rikushix, on 11/08/2009, -0/+2I've never thought of that, that's a good idea. Fallout would be a perfect universe to take advantage of a miniseries format.
I mean, I won't even pretend to be one of those people that played Fallout 1/2 - I've only played Bethesda's Fallout 3, and yet the scope of that game alone is just so ridiculously huge that in my mind it could benefit greatly from a very measured attention to detail...something that can't necessarily be presented in a two hour or so film. - Egg333, on 11/08/2009, -1/+3"Amid all the troubled productions and false starts when it comes to videogame movies, at least gamers can always count on the Resident Evil franchise to persevere."
Go to hell. - Jektal, on 11/08/2009, -0/+2***** "remake", sequel!
http://www.destructoid.com/why-the-super-mario-mov ... - dumbum, on 11/10/2009, -0/+1But... In the name of the King was SOOOO GOOOD
/s - Yage2006, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1Games-to-*****. A list of upcoming terrible movies to avoid.
There I fixed the title for you. - steve5006, on 11/09/2009, -0/+1Agreed a call of duty movie would just be another WWII movie. Would not be any different from any of the rest on the market
- Reebee52, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1Ocarina of Time. Or any Legend of Zelda. Christ it could be so epic.
- Sil369, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1yes this game screams movie.....i was surprised its not on the list.....maybe soon it will be after 6 sequeals (ala, COD) :P
- N01SE, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1I wish someone would make Clive Barker's Jericho. Although a mediocre fps game, it has one of the coolest stories I've ever played through, and I've been a gamer since the C64. It *could* be an incredible horror/thriller movie.
- MisterRyanJames, on 11/08/2009, -1/+2One word: Doom
- Cheeselover, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1For the most part, a pretty solid list. But a bit long.
I think an Uncharted movie would be great. - leland1, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1In case someone hasn't seen director Neill Blomkamp's original live action demo of his "Halo" movie (before he scrapped the project and instead filmed the popular "District 9" film) here it is:

I used mabsark method and its working so far. - Snoresnore, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1The only problem I can see for Left 4 Dead is that it is going to be like every other zombie movie for the most part. The special infected would be really cool to see though!
- elgilicious, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1I hate to break it to you, but your farcical little rebellion has validated the very ad placement program that you seek to eliminate. I'm no marketing genius, but I'm pretty sure any ad that makes such a strong impression on somebody that he tells others about it (e.g., by posting another screenshot of it on Digg) is a successful ad. Congratulations, you've been played like a fiddle.
Oh, and Dragon Age Origins ***** rocks! - pika2000, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1Why movie? Why not mini-series? What I hate about video-game-based movies is that usually they have to cut corners, A LOT of corners, to streamline the story and characters due to the movie length. This is also true for book/manga-based movies. Making them into mini-series/OVA is much much better as then you don't really have the 1.5-2hour limitation, and especially critical for games where the key to the whole story is character development/progression, as a lot of the games on the list are. Screw this make-everything-into-a-movie crap.
- perryjon1, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1Dugg for Mass Effect.
- pagno, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1Another list of movies that should never be made.
- Ev3nt372, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1If you have the Adblock Plus addon right click the background and select "Adblock Plus: Block Image..." and then "Add filter". This will just leave it as a black background.
- kinseyincanada, on 11/09/2009, -0/+1theres a ton of Zombie movies already why would Left 4 Dead be any different?
- inactive, on 11/09/2009, -0/+1Most of these games are outdated and not even household names, might as well just rip off the plot ideas and make a new movie out of them.
- TempusFugitive, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1"...has lost some of its luster since thanks to the lackluster..." is a bit of a tautology, no?
- wolfing, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1Have they made a movie out of Atari's "Custer's Revenge"? That would be... interesting
- sloach, on 11/09/2009, -0/+1I think an Uncharted movie is pretty much in the works. Nolan North even said who he wants to play Drake. I was surprised it wasn't on there.
I doubt it will live up the the games if it's released unfortunately. -
