- inactive, on 10/22/2009, -2/+333this is going to revolutionize time wasting
- HCviolence, on 10/23/2009, -1/+112Dammit I already waste enough time on farmville, and that game sucks.
- cuevas4711, on 10/23/2009, -2/+113<Insert Name> Has just done something you don't care about.
He/She decided to spam it to everyone.
<<Huge picture right there. - AmnesiacJack, on 10/23/2009, -0/+103As long as I don't have to add 200+ random people to my account just so I don't get beat down by all the friendwhores out there then I'll probably enjoy it.
Let's hope it changes Facebook "gaming" as much as the original changed PC gaming. - codyman, on 10/23/2009, -0/+83You could just find one of your friends mom on facebook, add her as a friend, play her on civilization, then joke to your buddy that you plundered your mom's village, if ya know what I mean....
- Pinkertinkle, on 10/23/2009, -0/+65I remember CIV would ask something like what's the 5th word on the 19th page of the manual. That was some of the most effective DRM I've ever seen.
- KholdStare00, on 10/23/2009, -1/+57***** FARMVILLE!
- Akairenn, on 10/23/2009, -8/+63Yo Civilization, I'm happy for you, but Alpha Centauri had the best quotes and unit customization of all time.
- fakeplasticsnow, on 10/23/2009, -0/+53I foresee a wall full of "<insert friend name here> just conquered France."
- adamahirsch, on 10/22/2009, -0/+47Something tells me I'm going to lose 100+ hours of my life when this comes out.
- inactive, on 10/23/2009, -0/+41Dude, same. Farmville sucks. But my crops!
- PhillyMJS, on 10/23/2009, -0/+26This is terrible news, I had a vicious Civ addiction back in the early 90s. I would get home from work at 6pm, sit down at the computer to play, and next thing I knew the sun would be coming up.
- unknownpoltroon, on 10/23/2009, -2/+28Ohhhh *****. I cant make fun of the farming people anymore.
- bsonline, on 10/23/2009, -1/+26Wow, that is the first idea you had? I mean, you pretty much took a decent idea and went straight to your friend's mom with it, if you know what I mean.
- bsonline, on 10/23/2009, -0/+23Seriously. They have so called MMORPG's on the iPhone. Ever play one? No matter what "strategy" you use or how you play, the only thing that matters is how many friends you have. I'm quite worried about what this game is going to do to Civ. Thankfully, Sid generally does things right.
- theamnesiac, on 10/23/2009, -0/+23This might be the first app I actually use on facebook.
- bsonline, on 10/23/2009, -0/+22It looks like this meme expired. Since I still use it in real life to annoy my wife, I gave ya a charity digg.
- korvan504521, on 10/23/2009, -1/+21and if you failed it deleted all your units.
good times. - jamangold, on 10/23/2009, -0/+19Here, I'll join in.
***** MAFIA WARS! - capyoda, on 10/23/2009, -0/+17holy *****. a REAL game on Facebook platform.
- bigshot937, on 10/23/2009, -0/+17I wonder how many times I can ICBM a city while sitting through one boring 50 minute class (and still somehow not destroy the city).
- bsonline, on 10/23/2009, -0/+16http://www.starehry.eu/download/strategy/docs/Civi ...
Yeah, but that wouldn't work any more. Barely did then, actually. - fattehboi, on 10/23/2009, -1/+16***** "WHAT TYPE OF SEX POSITION ARE YOU!"
- nextekcarl, on 10/23/2009, -0/+13...and so ended the human race. Humanity lasted less than one week, with most of it dying of dehydration since none of them could leave their chairs for fear of a surprise attack, also known as a zergling swarm.
- bouche, on 10/23/2009, -0/+13geezuz. if starcraft comes to facebook, the world will likely end. there will be no one left to work!
- marskid2, on 10/23/2009, -0/+13Agreed. SMAC = the best game ever. Every year I seem to go into a phase a few weeks long where I suddenly get back into it. University FTW
- whatthefu, on 10/22/2009, -3/+15I need to change my pants now.
- Eurynom0s, on 10/23/2009, -1/+12Oh *****. ***** ***** *****. I have a senior project to do this year!
- Jektal, on 10/23/2009, -0/+11That's something I love about Civ. I can play as Ghandi and lead a rampaging army across the face of the world, brutally destroying everyone in my path. And with Civ4 I can do so while propagating Judaism or Christianity or something.
- douglasr007, on 10/23/2009, -0/+11like
- DaviDTC, on 10/23/2009, -7/+16Can I block this now before I get spammed with it?
- Rockkybox, on 10/23/2009, -0/+9Hell yes, Civ II has got a special place in my heart, due to it being the game that got me into gaming; I just worked out how to play through trial and error (I was so happy when I realized you could move diagonally with the numberpad)
- jeshakespeare, on 10/23/2009, -0/+9EU subsidies mean my farm is now entirely made up of beetroot fields. It's not much fun to play any more, but I make loads of money.
- Stevo23, on 10/23/2009, -0/+8Sweet. We'll see if my aircraft carriers can still beat their centurions!
- MorpheousMarty, on 10/23/2009, -0/+7Until you lost the manual. I only consider DRM effective it is unlikely to harm the actual owner. So far Steam is the only DRM I can stomach, although I still worry what will happen if they go out of business, or change their service drastically.
- inactive, on 10/23/2009, -0/+7copy / paste the migratory patterns of the yellow billed African swallow from wikipedia.
Make sure your p values look like they're in the right spot, toss a coin, heads reject, tails fail to reject. Invite your prof to play Civ and profit. - appleseed1234, on 10/23/2009, -0/+7Fear my cavalry.
Come on, make Civ 5 happen soon with this kind of networking functionality and I'd buy it in a heartbeat. - Zaxcomp, on 10/23/2009, -0/+6See I always found it more rewarding to play as someone like Alexander the Great and then win a game purely through diplomacy and culture. There's a real challenge.
- VanishingLex, on 10/23/2009, -0/+6I'm fairly certain that they are referring to the fact that when you have 20 cities and you want to micro manage every build queue, unit, settler etc... it takes time.
- inactive, on 10/23/2009, -2/+7I bought Civ Revolution for PS3, and I was not very happy with it. Mind you I only played for 2 hours, but if the facebook version is the same lowest common denominator crap as revolution, I probably wont give a *****.
The beauty of the Civ series was that it was complicated and intricate. With tons of variables to contend with you had to really think about what path you should take. It wasn't just about "get the biggest gun the fastest through mining the most gold". But Facebook is the lowest common denominator nowadays, so we'll see how it works out. - Apego, on 10/23/2009, -0/+5Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted.
- commentposted, on 10/23/2009, -1/+6Me too.
***** QUIZZES! - Mujokan, on 10/23/2009, -0/+5I've already bought Civilization II twice and destroyed the CD twice due to addiction.
- nextekcarl, on 10/23/2009, -0/+5I played that game several times with a friend, and for some reason we always got disconnected and from what we could tell, you couldn't restart a saved multiplayer game, which really sucked. It would just restart as a single player game for us. The Single player was cool, though.
- samhim, on 10/23/2009, -0/+5lite.facebook.com
- Jarasmen, on 10/23/2009, -0/+5Yeah, I started to sow 3-day seeds so I don't have to harvest so often, but I don't make as much off them :/
- inactive, on 10/23/2009, -0/+4*****
- infinitus64, on 10/23/2009, -0/+4hey professor that barely speaks English i just made it to alpha centauri could you rap up explaining this some other time.
- cruzlee, on 10/23/2009, -1/+5A train wreck sentence is a sentence, in which the second part doesn't.
- iruber1337, on 10/23/2009, -0/+4It's a grinding game and people enjoy that (no matter the scenario) -- just look at WoW. Farmville happens to appeal to casual gamers, get over it and stop whining.
