Well I dunno... why don't you listen to every single podcast from a gaming site out there... or just simply read the gaming websites period... Its almost across the board taht bioshock is a better game.. almost across the board that they say that the ending kinda sucked bigtime but still.. still.. its a great game. Almost every single one goes "eh..yea... yea... I guess" when someone mentions Halo 3 for game of year contention.... and when they do they quickly bring up mass effect or bioshock for the 360 GOY contenders to get off talking about Halo 3. Oh, and yes same goes for Orange Box... I hear more about Orange Box, Bioshock, and the yet to be released Mass Effect fo GOY then I do Halo 3.

And if reviewers can review the orange box as a whole and not take each game individually then it is a very valid and strong candidate for game of the year.

Just because you are totally biased to Nintendo products and have some type of agenda against Halo doesn't mean your comment is correct. A lot of other people may think its game of the year and that's their right. Also let me point out that you haven't played ANY of these games! You've said many times the only "next gen" system you own is the Wii so how do you know anything. You keep rattling of what you heard and EVERYONE thinks this. How about growing a set of balls and forming your own opinion like the rest of the real non-fanboy gamers out there.

    Personally I'd say COD4 is best FPS of the year but as far as overall game of the year we'd have to wait till Mass Effect and Assassins Creed and a few other games are out.

    Half Life 2: 96
    Half Life 2, Episode 1: 87
    half life 2, episode 2: 90
    Portal: 90
    Team Fortress 2: 93

  • surian, on 11/09/2007, -0/+5Portal was great. The *only* thing wrong with it was that it was too short. In my opinion, that's probably what will cause it to lose the game of the year award in the end.
  • ashmael, on 11/13/2007, -0/+5The controls in MP3 were amazing, and the boss fights some of the most fun I've had gaming ever. But the rest of the game is so tedious, searching back and forth across environments, doing delivery quests.

  • xxeyes, on 11/10/2007, -2/+6Right now, "Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure" is my game of the year. I'd put Bioshock second and Gears of War in third. That could be flipped around a little with the release of Rock Band and Mario Galaxy, though.

I'm not sure whats coming for Wii or 360 but as a PS3 owner I'm looking forward to Killzone 2 and MGS4, Two Socom are also being released (confrontation and another one by Zipper), Battlefield Bad Comp and then we might have COD5 later in 2008. All war games but thats what I like. Things are looking good.

But if you look at the reviews, people review the entire box and then the games separately sometimes too. Hell by your standards when games like say oblivion for the ps3, the reviewers should review oblivion and then the expansions seperatly that come with it in the same package. The Orange Box is one product, yes it may contain 5 games, but it is one package that you purchase and since you really can't purchase portal, half-life 2 episode 2 and TF2 seperately for the 360 then you have to review the orange box as a whole.
  • xOpifex, on 11/10/2007, -2/+5I would say Uncharted: Drakes Fortune and UT3 (if they get it out in time) could give most games a run for their money. Uncharted looks amazing, and isn't the exact same thing we've seen countless times before (Halo).

  • Ashkc88, on 11/09/2007, -0/+3I played it on legendary the first time. There is no difficult higher than that. Yes, there are many ways you can play the levels in CoD4. The single player in Halo3 isn't that great tbh. The feel of the CoD4 single player was way more mind blowing.

  • Ashkc88, on 11/13/2007, -1/+4I think CoD4 plays like CoD2 with many many enhancements. Which is great, it still has the good old CoD feel that we have come to love. IMHO Rainbow 6 played like GRAW except in the 1st person perspective. Anyways, I think CoD4 > Halo3 by a long shot. Even my friends list has gone from everyone playing Halo3 to everyone playing CoD4. The game is gorgeous, the multi-player is awesome, and even the single player is amazing.

    I think Orange Box and Bioshock are great, but are more single player oriented. Sadly, I doubt they'll win GotY because of this...even though they deserve the title more than Halo3 does. Though, out of Orange Box, Bioshock, Halo3, and CoD4, I'd say I had the most fun playing CoD4, even though I love all four of these games...notice how they are all FPSs...that's also sad.
