It seems this rumor was spread so that xbox-fanboys would have something bigger and better to brag about then the Sony-farm, now I know your thinking "THEY ALREADY DOOOOO!". But the point is this was plastered all over the net and people was saying "eat dirt Sony, now we get HDMI too and a bigger hard drive"...
I'm just calling out to people to calm down a second and just acknowledge the pros and cons of each console. You can't just walk around and say HDMI doesn't matter one second and the next say that you want it. The xbox will probably get it sooner or later but try to be objective in your criticism of one console vs. the other...it just doesn't add up to a very working debate if your spurting out things from your head without running it through some filters once a while.
Digg has a very anti-Sony attitude about it and meanwhile I'm looking forward to the release of the PS3 on my continent. Haven't decided yet if I'll get one but I have always liked the Playstation brand and seeing as it has carried my favorite games I tend to lean that way. But please keep down the bias-ism and report good and bad things based on facts and not just rumors from random Joe. - VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah, I keep seeing "hit the jump" more and more lately and I can't figure out what the ***** it means or where it came from.

- rderveloy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Considering that the ALL of the auido and video options for the Xbox 360 come out of the proprietary port in the back of the console, why do people insist on seeing an HDMI port as proof of HDMI?
Wouldn't it be easier for Microsoft just release a cable that connects to that general purpose port on one end and has an HDMI connector on the other? In fact, knowing Microsoft, if they release a console with HDMI capabilities, they'll do just that. - ninjadave, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Now I won't hesitate to go buy a 360. I don't get all the fuss about this I saw it on Endgaget awhile back, the same image they use to sell the case on most sites is the one that showed up in the press release on blogs...

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3This is normal with every console. People tend to say stuff like that to make their purchase seem like a better "investment". Also because kids get mad when they try to convince people to get "Console A" but they end up getting "Console B". Then they tell them why they're so dumb for picking "Console B".
You don't see a lot of Nintendo fan boys, generally because of the audience Nintendo attracts. The people who play Nintendo probably have more life... I'm only guessing about this because Nintendo games seem to not be as addictive (ex, GTA, GOW, etc.) - PHouck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0since I work on a review/ dev kit every day it just seems like a dumb story... but that's just me. What is the point of such a case mod anyhow? If you want it to look different, just get a faceplate, that's all you should be seeing of it anyhow. This isn't a product that is normally put out because it looks good on all sides unlike an iPod or the like that is handled a viewed from all angles.

So this doesn't exactly disprove the rumor, it just shows the world that the aforementioned site is wrong (and the blog-article says as much). A review kit allows reviewers (who would have thought) to review games and pretty much just allows the console to run unsigned code (so pre-release games can be reviewed). Whereas a debug kit has that ability to run unsigned code as well as things like more memory, more space and such. - tlm2021, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3So there's proof game sites jumped on a story and didn't throughly review the evidence. Is there any proof they lied? Nobody was caught lying. The only thing that happened was some of their "proof" was found to be false.
