Fist - Awesome
2 white people and a back black person - 2 player co-op
Gender signs - both women and men can enjoy the game
Syringe - adrenaline inducing
Spider - Insect accessible
@*! - Qubert sequel. - SEGA4life, on 07/03/2008, -1/+16Man I remember on my 15th birthday riding my bike 7 miles to the mall and buying Mortal Kombat for the SEGA Genesis with no ID or parents, then months later they said something had to be done because of how violent the games have become.
man that was 15 years ago... nothing like a reply to make yourself feel old. - TheRabbid, on 07/02/2008, -1/+15ESRB Ratings are fine with me. I know that the UK has a different rating system than North America, though. I'm just saying that the ESRB'a ratings are pretty simple.
- Kmap, on 07/03/2008, -0/+9Ratings?......Damn she's hot!
- tehjabba, on 07/03/2008, -0/+8I feel mentally scarred just looking at the screenies.

Thank god the good folks at bbfc and ersb are here to protect our fragile little minds. - dandonia, on 07/03/2008, -0/+8everyone turns out ***** anyway
- rabidbob, on 07/03/2008, -0/+7" Is the video game rating system in the UK too confusing?"
Only if you are a retard. - Tob3z, on 07/03/2008, -0/+5Dugg for Q-bert
- mickstephenson, on 07/03/2008, -2/+5A little bit of blood and gore is good for a kid. Well I don't really know that, but wrapping them up in cotton wool isn't either. There is not enough evidence either way because generally people are morally opposed to using children as test subjects (I have no idea why). But the idea that some guy in a suit arbitrarily decides at which age certain words and acts become acceptable is poppy ***** of the cockiest variety in my book.
- Kanten, on 07/04/2008, -0/+2Except it has the ever-popular AO rating which is essentially just a censorship device.
- widgetmaker, on 07/03/2008, -0/+2Why can't they just use the same warnings (or very similar) used for film and dvds, consumers wouldn't be confused, which surely is the ultimate aim?
- HolyChimp, on 07/03/2008, -0/+2The only ratings worth noticing are the BBFC ones. If they don't feel the need to stick a big red circle on it then it's probably suitable for little Timmy. Add to that the fact that most people don't even know what the ***** the PEGI ratings are rambling on about with their symbols. A simple 12, 15, 18 rating system seems to work best.
- inactive, on 07/03/2008, -2/+4Very interesting article. I like video game, tv and movie ratings. Our children are exposed to enough violence in the real world around them as it is.
- chaosblade77, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1They could just design a ratings system where games with ratings equal to "M" here are required to have completely black cases that say something along the lines of
"DO NOT BUY THIS GAME FOR YOUR KIDS. IF YOU BUY THIS GAME FOR YOUR CHILD, YOU SUCK ASS AS A PARENT."
In very large, bold font on the front of the case. Maybe in the top right corner it will have the name of the game in small letters. Probably still not enough though and some kid will end up with GTA4... or Manhunt 2. - Uaedaien, on 07/03/2008, -0/+1They should make PEGI the legally binding one as they know about games. How about spending the extra money that would have gone to the BBFC (tax payer money i may add) on educating parents to get involved with their childrens activites.
Doesn't matter what you put on the box if a parent still thinks gta is right for their 6 year old son, they have ID. - rabidbob, on 07/03/2008, -0/+1Their own. Look how much wonga Blair is making these days.
- Azriel7, on 07/03/2008, -0/+1The only thing I would change in the ESRB ratings system is that I would get rid of Mature and AO and just merge them into an 18+ rating. Besides that I think the current ESRB ratings is fine.
- petewhite, on 07/03/2008, -0/+1I can't see whats wrong with the current system however I am over 18 so it doesn't make a difference to me.
- chaosblade77, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1Those are totally obvious, but man, the numbers throw me off completely.
- kravex, on 07/04/2008, -0/+1Has there ever even been a game with the 2 white people and a back black person (discrimination) released?
- BN2L, on 07/03/2008, -1/+1EA's customer support confuses me.
- domokunt, on 07/03/2008, -1/+1Yes it makes more sense to make PEGI legally binding, but our government can't miss another opportunity to expand and throw more taxpayer money down the drain, whilst making UK consumers pay even more. Now tell me whose interests they have at heart?
- Ricky81682, on 07/03/2008, -0/+0Because no matter how simple you make them, someone will remain confused and think that GTA or Se7en is appropriate for their little snowflake.
- Pixelante, on 07/03/2008, -1/+0No, don't ***** them, you'll get STDs.
- Pixelante, on 07/03/2008, -1/+0Could be worse. Could be a guy without a suit.
- omikjam, on 07/03/2008, -2/+0They should stop using ratings.
- Darkaged, on 07/03/2008, -2/+0***** the BBFC
- kavutu, on 07/03/2008, -6/+1The games are a waste of time. Go get a job, be productive, spank your monkey.
