- bpapa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6That's cool, but why ddin't they do it as a google maps mashup?
- Tanpreet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5this seems like a great tool for people who are trying to look for a gamedev job close to them. great find!
- Jovan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Come to think of bpapa after seeing that I got a strange drive to do a google maps mashup with it (just so people can see visually where its located).
I might do it, no idea. But the person who made that definetly should. - bpapa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Honestly whenever I look at a web map now I immediately try to grab it with the mouse to move it around. I did that this morning with the MTA NYC subway map cause i wanted to see something in brooklyn. So I grabbed the map and then said "oh wait a second"...
Not to rail on these guys that made the map, I just don't get the purpose of making a map these days that isn't built on top of the google API. - Jovan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Good, I've been looking for one of these, digg++
- brandizzle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Great map but...it isn't interactive. I wanted to drag it, but I couldn't. Then I couldn't even zoom. And some of the dots are pretty off...
- Trenton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I was really surprised, I didn't know activision was from Eden Prarie, Minnesota. That is really interesting. Good to know for like local game developers. Well atleast that they had a place there.
- Hexxagonal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3cool... granted the dots are off for most locations
- rick2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i think thats cool
+digg - beoswulf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why is Dubai on the map if there are no game developers listed there?
There don't seem to be any game developers in the Middle East except for one in Isreal?
I guess I shouldn't be so shocked at the amount of gave developers in India.
Neat stuff though. - leftfoot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I had no idea that Midway had a studio in Austin until I played Area 51, which was developed here. That's badass.
- retral, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Cool.. and yes, some of the dots seem off. :P
- cbrack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1and they spelled Pittsburgh wrong... They forgot the H at the end. Bastards.
- Scopitone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Damn! I wanted to zoom into my company in Irvine.
- saitou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It appears that none of you are noticing the key at the bottom of the map, which states if a company is a developer/publisher, etc
It looks a lot like this.
" Developer | Publisher | Developer & Publisher | Organization | Mobile / Handheld | Online Developer"
@theswede:
Those are cities/provinces, not companies.
Scroll down and it lists the companies. - mikeabundo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm not sure why Mobius Philippines is there. It's a *publisher*, not a developer.
- humanerror, on 04/03/2008, -1/+1My company is on there 8)
- mikeabundo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Whoops, forget I said that. The map allows publishers, too.
- donolsen1155, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Not very accurate. Doesn't include Cyan (http://www.cyanworlds.com/company.php) based out of Spokane, WA.
For those who don't know, Cyan developed Myst as well as several other sequels. - samery2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0great info-- i was looking for something like that; cheers
- Pellies, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1What's your point?
- albow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0you must click on a dot, a list of developers from that region then loads at the bottom of the page
- Andersson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great idea! As about developer links, here at http://www.logler.com/2006/04/28/casual-games-portals-major-list-third-edition/ we have list of casual games developers and their portals...maybe you can take something from here to add
- NoteMe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Cool, easier to see where to apply for jobs when I have finished my studies now..:)
PS: http://www.igda.org/oslo link in Norway does not work. Not sure if oslo have an igda page at all.
- ØØ - - jtrost, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1No Google maps, no digg.
- theswede, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0So there are four "game development organizations" in Japan? Hmm.

What is Digg?
