- shade73, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh I'm so glad someone finally used logic & morals to decided a court decision... guess there is a first for everything!! Especially when the political wind isn't playing in this judges direction. I give him his needed props
- kloud213, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i would love to see hillary's face when she reads this.....
- CompIsMyRx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1His punishment should be meted out in true GTA style. That is, he should be beaten with a baseball bat until money comes out.
- m.sandstorm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, common sense rules!
- fitzy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thank you...

- lollerskates, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Bad news for one Jack Thompson.
- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Bad news for all the people that claim that video games directly cause violence..."
You mean bad news for those who -don't- believe video games cause violence?
That kid just had something wrong with him. If everyone who played violence video games went out and killed people now, it'd be a hundred babillion times worse. - hadees, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0GOOD+++
- ncaa76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the kid was under the 17+ age rating
- pero69, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0damn... i thought that defense would work.... i may have to leave the country now ;)

- Wang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The right outcome
- rundun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well, If I can't complaint I see that in a movie, so videogame is pretty much the same.
- pezz453, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0He was hired to do it by anit-gaming Jack Thompson...
- kiwiboyus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Okay so the kid cn't get away with saying the game made him do it, but the victim's families are going to try and use that in a civil suit to make $ or two?! WTF is that about?!
- althe3rduww, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thank goodness, I thought all common sense was lost in courts until I saw this.
- AmZa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0HAHAHAH
- bluehouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it's called personal responsibility. People should try it out instead suing everyone cuz their kid is an idiot
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0OJ Simpson all over again, the game isn't at fault YET the game companies have to pay money to teh famalies of the deceased????!!!!???
Yup, the money is gonna make those dead fellas rise up and dance a jog I guess. - alanmarchman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the rest of us have killed millions of NPCs in GTA and other games, not to mention how we kill EACH OTHER in online games like CS, and there is NOTHING WRONG WITH US.
I'm from Alabama and all this does is make the state look like a collective of dumb redneck-two-toofered-hicks. - Reddog_x2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's almost as good as the twinkie defense.
- malkdome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0just wait... jack thompson is planning legal action against those evil games that "force" charles mccoy to shoot those people on ohio freeways...

Yay, we are gaining! :> - cys006, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0GOOD+++++
- ConfusedONE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It is so easy to blame GTA, cause it is popular. But what about the more violent games, like Thrill Kill and God of War? Stupid Jack Thompson and stupid guy who used GTA as an alibi.
- thecrow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Funny. Hillary is so idiotic. I know plenty of young voters who would have voted for her but since the hot coffee mod fiasco; they have changed their minds.
- b04155, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So does this set a precedent against anyone who says violent games lead to violence therefore they should be banned?
- IraqManiac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0GOOD++++
- toekneebullard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh my god! How could they ever expect a 20 year old man to be responsible for his own actions?!? What is this world coming to when a man has to pay for the consequences of his deeds??!
/end sarcasm - bryantee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"should have gone with the chewbacca defence"
totally - w00master, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Best news I've seen in a while in regards to videogames.
- Jibberish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good thing this kid couldn't get Robert Shapiro or Johnnie Cochran to defend him. It would have been;

100% behind that! - dude3609, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0With or without gta he still would get the death penalty. They probably wanted to see if gta was the cause, and if it wasn't, he wouldnt get in trouble because of what they like to call "mind altering gta". Since it didnt cause him to kill, he therfore chose his own actions and pleaded guilty rather then rockstar pleading guilty.
- mentor972, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0God forbid anybody be ***** responsible for themselves.
- t_stehilaire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I love Rockstar, man. This guy killed people. He sucks. Screw that guy.
- motionblur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0GOOD+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
- evasivejay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very good news.
- digit9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The civil suit is going to be the story to watch. When is this country going to grow up and realize that games don't make killers?
- fuzzytoad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0should have gone with the chewbacca defence
- hipnado, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music."
-Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989 - Da-Chia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ha what a crock in the end the family is gonna try to sue rockstar
"The victims’ families have filed a civil suit against the video game manufacturer and two stores, claiming Moore killed the three after repeatedly playing “Grand Theft Auto III and “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
if they were so happy it didn't work as a defense , WTF are they going to try and sue on the exact same pretense.
bunch of jerkwads that want money... pfft
to that whats her face song sheryle crow?
"all I wanna do is sue someone, I got a feelin you wont be the only one"
