BLARG OMG DONATE THAT MONEY TO THE FAMILIES OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD A LOVED ONE TAKEN AWAY FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE SO MUCH AS GLANCED AT ANYONE PLAYING ANY GTA GAVE EVER BLARG!
/Jack Thompson - john2kx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11not really, if you think about it.
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Hmm...didn't know the same man invented GTA and Lemmings. What a big contrast between the two
- uptown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I'm sure the politicians are polishing their speaking points as we speak...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5David Jones CO-CREATED Grand Theft Auto back in 1997 when Rockstar North was called DMA Design. He seems to get too much credit for this sort of thing.
- Stonedonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Except that in Crackdown, you play the cops, not the robbers. And in APB, you can choose either side.
It'll give the politicians fits! - DrakeGTA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I remember reading about All Point Bulletin a while back, it's apperently going to be close to a GTA MMO... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APB_%28computer_game%29

kaboom.
yep, I see the connection - somerandomnerd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I had completely forgotten about the original atari A.P.B. game. That was great fun.
Love the fact that this is as obviously "inspired" by GTA as the original GTA was "inspired" by the original APB... - recyclablewaste, on 07/15/2008, -1/+4Ummm... Ok.

- graizur, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Actually I can see lefty activists being sort of upset by this game. The reason being that the cops are sort of over powered and the city itself seems to bemonized. The game is way over the top.
I personally really like a lot of the decisions the design team made inclucing the culturally and racially diverse set of Protagonists you can choose from, the fact that they develop over time and the fact the the world is completely open and non linear.
I am glad to see that some people with money agree with me. This game is destined to be really fun, popular and sort of groundbreaking with the sandbox/online/platforming aspect all being in one game. Do not underestimate this game just because it ghas a superficial surface. - AmonAmarth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Awesome. Can't wait to see what entertainment amazements spawn from this developer.
- YoungDeezy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anybody remember the APB arcade game? It had a steering wheel and a chair to sit on.

I want one for the basement. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I find it hard to believe that a Scottish company would receive dollars in payment, heck, with the state of that dire US currency it wouldn't be worth that once it is converted into money that can be spent.
- thisisbs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1is it coming out for the 360? i love it...it tastes like chicken.
- PvtJenkins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And you'd probably be wrong to assume that. Almost every game reviewing site who has seen and played crackdown admit that they thought it looked pretty crappy, but in the end admit that it turned out to be super fun. It's almost as if just soo ridiculous and crazy that it adds up to a good time. I know I'm looking forward to it.
- DanteDefiance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Can't wait to see what David Jones has in store for us. God knows I'm already sick of the GTA franchise. They lost me after Vice City. I could careless about GTA4 at this point. Obviously I'm a minority though. Everyone here knows that when GTA4 is released...no matter how much it's like it's predecessors; it will sell 4 bajillion copies.
(aside from the 3D perspective is there really any difference between GTA 1, 2 and 3?) - funnyjelo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I thought about it. I can see the similarities.
- iamsojelin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Did anyone notice the mention of Microsoft publishing those titles, and that they'd be available for the 360? No mention of Sony, however.
- LordSkywalker, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2From what I've seen, that Crackdown game sounds like a pretty mediocre game.
- tuxidomasx, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4dont digg me too much
- jazzmac, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1WTF?!?!
