It's much more sophisticated!
I KNOW its not 3d!!
And of course, you can poke the critters and make them explode. - dillonthomas, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Bahaha.

- masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16No kidding. I don't like MMOs. It seems that ALL MMOs are all about the social aspect, and if I want to socialize, I'll go out and do something with a friend -- I play games to have fun, have a great story, and be in a wonderful, fantasy (not sci-fi, hence why you've probably heard me rant about the Nomura Final Fantasies, before) world.
Not to mention the main problem with online social games, as well as the main thing most people don't like about MMOs as voted by GameFAQs -- Jerks. In an offline game, everyone acts exactly in character and exactly as they're meant to. In MMOs, they each all have their own subculture, and most of the time, people do completely illogical things, not to mention that the economies are usually -insane-. - Mace37, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15sounds good but where's my Diablo 3? I need my fix.
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14"there is no doubt that we will continue the StarCraft and Diablo franchise"
best sentence I have ever heard. - RPharazon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14I told you my name, it's Duran! Duran!

I'd rather be sailing. - sinfony, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Wait, he's confirmed that Blizzard is going to produce sequels to two of the most successful games of all time? Unbelievable! Next, you'll be telling me that there will be another Mario or Final Fantasy game. Truly stunning.
- silverstrike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Yea, why rush? I mean, its only be 6 years. That's a real short time in this industry.
Took a lot of economics, huh? - cody50, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11"Nucnucnucnucnucnucnucnucnucnucnucnuclear Launch Detected"
no its because he launched like, ***** 7 missles at a time. - 12340987, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12when was ghost coming out? A few years ago?

My favorite strategy: dark swarm, lurkers, hydras, and plague - Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+92 months ago Blizzard had a job opening on their website for a "talented level designer with experience building levels using any popular 3D Real-Time Strategy game toolset". Hint at production of their next RTS (crosses fingers for starcraft2)
- Jadix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Holy crap holy crap holy crap holy crap...thats Starcraft 2 in the title of a semi-legimate news source's headline!

Goliath online Goliath online Goliath online Goliath online Goliath online Goliath online - cohortq, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9If Warcraft 3 is your favorite game, then you are too young to taste the pure perfection that is Starcraft.
- tpaine, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9i played wow for about 6 months. I got my character up to lvl 49 and then went all PVP and managed to get a pretty good rank. I enjoyed the game but I went through a phase where I couldn't play for about a month and when I tried to go back to it I simply couldn't. The amount of time you have to put into it just to get an enjoyable experience is mind boggling. It keeps you hooked for longer periods, but sometimes i just want to play for an hour and have fun.
That's why I've sworn off MMO's for good and can't wait for starcraft 2 and I hope above all that the let you zoom out so you can fit more than 3 characters on the screen at once. I exaggerate of course, and I thoroughly enjoyed Warcraft 3, but I still miss the Dark Reign days when you could zoom way out and get a full battlefield view. - nazadus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6They don't want to get labeled like Duke Nukem Forever.
- Tochi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7My Favorites:
"We are vigilant!" and "We feel your presence" - Protoss Arbiter
Here's all of them for those Starcraft junkies, like myself:

- Dosperros, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Gimme somethin' to shoot
- oxyrubber, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7But please god make a better battle.net interface for all new multiplayer games. It's terribly difficult to join games with friends without being in the same room (and typing extremely fast).
- Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Speaking as someone who knows a few people in Irvine I can tell you that SC2 is definitely going to happen. Of course to you I'm just some random dude on the internet, but there it is.
- eauxnguyen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5i remember SC.... i loved going online and playing the custom maps like cat and mouse, rpgs, and wat not. SC has it all
- tittayz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4i was a HUGE starcraft fan back in the day... i dont hold out much hope for blizzard ever putting out SC2, and if they do, it'd prob be a let down.
however, in the RTS genre, Supreme Commander seems like the "Next Big Thing". it's an RTS featuring 3 factions, takes place on ginormous maps, fully 3D terrain, with missiles/weapons that have actual physics and can actually miss their targets, bringing a whole new level of reality to the game. the graphics are amazing, there's support for dual monitors too. best of all tho, you can change camera angles, as well as ZOOM OUT all the way. that is, using the scrollwheel, u can zoom out to any level you want, from super closeups of single units to baseview to worldwide view, and everything inbetween.
i'm truly psyched for this game, and i suggest any one else who is a fan of the RTS genre to check it out... comes out Jan 2007 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supreme_commander - elShaggy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Diablo 3's music has been written and scored, they did it a few years ago in Austrailia. I also remember hearing some gameplay ideas of Diablo 3. Though I am unsure of thier validity at this time, it is likely that D3 will be PvP based as it always has been. But the basic premise of the game will be: Heaven Vs Hell.
But I truely cannot wait for Starcraft 2, and don't give me the "were waiting forsignificant story to add", plotlines dont magially appear. That's what writers are for, they make up stories to tell through games. - arika2877, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"You want a piece of me Boy!!"
- silverstrike, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Actually, Starcraft played fine on my P133. Its all sprites ya know.
but...no, he didn't. That was the sound it makes in a team game when someone guards the terran who "ghost rushes". Its really funny to watch the other team come up with all sorts of ideas about what just happened.
The most common is "cheaters!". - rig0rmortis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Ahh, you had me at StarCraft 2.
- Tochi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Warcraft 2 Expansion, repeatedly click the female elf archer...
"You never touch the other elves like that!" - daschu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Just remember that the Terrans were a bunch of undesirable people (retards, disabled, and PRISONERS) that were sent away from earth to make room for the more desirable. That's why the lowly marines and firebats are prisoners. When the guys from earth show up in Brood War, they feel like they own the place just because they're not the lowly scum.
- somnus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Haha he had you at the end of the sentence? I should hope so, otherwise you'll be gone, never to be his again =(
- kingkilr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Me not that kind of orc!
