Further evidence the Wii will launch October 2nd?
bluealien.org — Gaming Target recently read between the lines of Nintendo's game release schedule to theorize a 10/2 launch date, but the upcoming Nintendo Fusion Tour hints more: "Notice, there will not be a concert held on October 2 or 3, and oddly enough, they kick it into high gear afterwards by jamming the month of October full of Wii appearances."

- mikeisme77, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1There's also no concert October 29th, 30th, 31st, or November 1st... Until Nintendo releases the date, it's all just guesses. But my friend's cousin's friend's mom heard from a reliable source at Nintendo that it will be released on September 29th when Nintendo holds their top secret Wii announcement party which they'll end by surprising everybody with the news that the Wii has just been launched (Sega did this with the Saturn at one of the first E3 conferences... and since the Saturn was such a success you KNOW this has to be a good idea...) Seriously though, just chill out and wait patiently... Maybe place some pre-orders. Personally, I'm waiting to place my pre-order as I am hoping beyond hope that they will release a Legend of Zelda collector's Wii on the release date... I'll be the first in line to pre-order that sucker if it happens. If not then I'll just get a black Wii, Zelda, and probably the Zelda strategy guide (in case there's another dungeon like Ocarina of Time's Water Temple... or maybe just cuz I suck at Zelda but I enjoy playing it any way...)

The article just offers more evidence of a October 2nd launch date that Game Target discovered when Nintendo said "Perhaps the secret to the launch information for Wii is somehow encoded in the text of this news item." October 2nd was the only week where nothing for the other consoles was coming out that was before the PS3 launch.
