He was very proud of his work and was going on about how he does a great service to society tracking these people down. I thought the guy was completely full of it. When I thought of counterfeiting, the things that came to mind were what you described, people selling knockoffs of popular luxury, fashion, and appliance items.
Then they started talking about the things that happen when counterfeiters make cheap knockoffs of food and drug products. They will sell inert powder capsules labeled as real vitamins and medication. The worst was the story of the baby formula made from some kind of completely nutrition free paste. Several babies died of malnutrition in the area where it was sold before investigators figured out what was going on.
Knockoff Nikes and the "Redberry" ripoff of the "Blackberry" handheld device are funny, and I can't really blame those people for being that sneaky to cash in. It's the ones who make stuff that looks like food and drugs and sell it that make me wonder. - Foamator, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10@calenerd

People will sell anything from "iPad" to Nike with the swoosh going the other direction. I would say that a copy of another game is fine as long as it takes the original Ideas and makes it better.
