- themastersb, on 10/12/2007, -3/+136"You are able to browse through the web with just one hand" I think the joke in there explains itself.
- nosnhojm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+64Only the first cursor has control of the browser...the others are just for *pointing*.
- FloppyLlamaDigg, on 10/12/2007, -17/+72Digg me down like I stole your last cookie.
- FaT32, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22In addition to screenshots there are also 5 small videos under the link that I haven't recognized at first...
- worbd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20Your point being? Wii is very limited compared to a PC, so obviously Opera is a great choice since it runs on just about anything.
- Eoborges, on 10/12/2007, -11/+31I think it's great that they added support for multiple cursors
Just imagine the multi-player flash games on the Wii - asurroca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17since the xbox 360 browser doesn't exist?
- whiledo, on 03/25/2009, -1/+17Looking at this article, I finally realized something about Miis. They are far, FAR better at representing Japanese people. I had always wondered why most of the hairstyles, most of the faces and other features of the Mii creation seemed useless to me for creating any person I know.
- dxprog, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Sometime next month. No exact date has been set yet.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13The hair is short mainly because the heads need to be essentially independent of the body. No hair overlaps the rest of the body.
- supremesonic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14I would download this channel for the funky menu screen alone. Seriously.
- number9ine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I just wish you could replace that giant hand with a less flamboyant pointer. That dude really gets in the way sometimes. A nice small reticle would be perfect. Something similar to the submitter's icon even.
- Pureeviljester, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12is the damn screen gonna fit for my screen? That's the real question.
Im tired of zooming in. - directive0, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14AUTOHIDE, thank you.
This makes viewing flash videos much more enjoyable. - avolant, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13maybe theyll put out a keyboard that plugs into the wiimote for $50. more, you think? yes, of course. i think that would be great.
whats that? you already have a bluetooth keyboard? thats neat. do you like it? mmhm. oh good. yeah... no you can't use it. - MCHampster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8This seems especially to be an issue with females. I know most of the women who have tried creating Mii's have been frustrated with the lack of longer hair styles. And the fact that most of the hair styles seem to be overly spiky, it just doesn't seem suited for representing people from western cultures.
- sheepster, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10when is this available?
- adhd123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Same here. Sounds like the resolution was lowered to 800x600 which will make everything bigger and easier to see or read, even more-so on a wide-screen, although you won't see as much of the page vertically at once. Am I reading this correctly?
"Also, to make the words easier to read, we actually cut back on the screen size so the page width will be displayed at 800 pixels, even on a wide-screen TV. The viewable area will not be as big as it could have been because of this, but I think the screen became a lot easier to see." - Jesseiscanadian, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8problem is with flash games, what about when they require use of certain keys for movement.
I hope we aren't limited to just "wii" friendly flash.
Some sort of programmable key function. Or like a drag and drag key assignment. - Rikkochet, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11Sooo.. No support for USB keyboards.. Guys, the channel is going to become a little-used gimmick if you can't give people a better way to enter text!
- onishenko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5using the demo browser to view this and to type this comment. using the wiimote to type is a b*tch.
- DivisibleByZero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Ooh, auto-hide the toolbar is definitely a good idea. I dabbled with using the wii to stream videos via Orb, but that giant toolbar took up too much space.
I'd like to eventually see Nintendo release their own video streaming package. In the pre-release days, they did a lot of hyping the Wii as an extension of your TV. They used the TV remote metaphor for the controller. So it only seems natural that the thing should be used to play media. So seeing that it doesn't play DVDs or other media, I was a little disappointed. - Repsaj1980, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Lets hope the browser also fills the screen with the video, then.
- kiesow567, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I agree with Rikkochet...definitely need USB keyboard support. The whole idea of the Opera browser on the Wii is very intriguing and could potentially be very cool and useful if websites are designed the right way. Some are already...time will tell how worthwhile it is.
- skypeGoat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@ogore
You can always use http://www.wiiminder.com/
Free
no Regestration. - HeavyA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I agree. I'm one of the masses that does not own anything but standard resolution TVs, and as such, trying to scale an entire web page into the limited resolution of one is sometimes painful. If it does indeed go to 800x, then the experience will be much more enjoyable for me.
- meshman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3There's nothing like the tried and true development stages used for decades:
- Alpha
- Beta
- Final Release
- FINAL Release
- *FINAL* Release
- "Ok, *FINAL*" Release
I guess it works like The Who Farewell concerts now. - jonjonjon2006, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3http://www.wiicade.com/api.aspx
WiiCade API maybe? :) - pumpkinpositive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The autohiding of the toolbar/menu will be very useful - Finally may be able to get Orb to stream movies nicely using (near) full screen size (depending on aspect ratio)...
- ogore, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4No Tabs?
- loudestnoise, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I eagerly wait for the release of the final version of the opera browser for the wii. hiding the toolbar will be cool!
- digdugdog, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Any chance Quicktime will be viewable?
- howie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Gimmick?
Yeah, because the primary use of any browser is to write long letters. It's not like people will be using a browser to browse. Yeah, they'll just type in lots of text. No browsing needed.
Opera is a text editor company, after all! - Refrag, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4There should be an Apple TV channel. That'd be sweet. Apple really needs to adopt Nintendo's remote control anyway.
- jsbarone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What repsaj said. I'd like it if the Wii Browser actually filled out my display. Is it the same way on a 4:3 TV?
- zetsurin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3So starup is reduced from 30 seconds to 25 seconds now? lol
- whiledo, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1@skippydoorknob
But even the short hair styles are extremely limited. I have very short hair, but it's not spiky. So I only had a couple of hairstyles to choose from. Never could get it that right. And I really don't have a very unique hairstyle. - starf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1April 30th according to http://wii.ign.com/index/release.html
But then I think it said March 30th the last time I looked... - Bruny, on 04/03/2008, -0/+0http://rssnewsdigest.com/search_feeds.php?q=Kotaku

Cosmetic Dentistry Prices -
http://www.cosmetic-dentistryinfo.com/cosmetic-den ... - gnazzah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yup! It will have a setting for screen adjustment.
- marcan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2The Wii has a USB port and a USB stack. The Internet channel uses it both for the Ethernet adaptor, if you have it, and for the Wiimote - the Bluetooth system inside the Wii is really just a USB bluetooth dongle, minus the USB connector (it's all internal). Adding support for keyboards would be pretty easy, especially in BOOT mode, which is what PC BIOSes use.
- nextlevel233, on 10/12/2007, -9/+8Very good find
- macgabriel87, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2at first glance, you may not know it but the conversation that they are having below is in iChat-formatting. Conspiracy, apple or nintendo???

Absolutely, that will be awesome!
Too bad there's no tabs though. - SkippyDoorknob, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1The browser doesn't support a keyboard because the Wii itself does not support a keyboard (yet).
