- antidentite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The Wiinja needs to get a better TV
- primehifi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This will only push demand for the console higher.
- VitaminK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is already on sale at some modchip sites, so it is legit.
I think it's sad that this has happened so early in the Wii's life, I thought Nintendo would have implemented better protection. Hopefully the fact that Nintendo is aiming for the non-gamer market means that this won't hurt the Wii too much. - teaguecl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree that emulators on the wii could affect virtual console sales... however this chip does not allow for homebrew, which means no emulators yet. The copy protection on the wii is nearly identical to the gamecube, with the notable exception that the executables are now signed. This chip will be much like the 360 firmware hacks - it allows for playing backups of signed executables, but not for running unsigned code.
- thenativeraver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Too bad it takes 50 hours to dump a disc.
- NOAMattD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, Nintendo will disable this with an update in no time.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well the video looks more authentic than alot of other ones released that for sure.
he doesnt show the cords connected etc. But you can see the sensor bar, the discs loaded @ roughly the right time. If you look @ the tv when it goes black u can see 2 people 1 in the bg holding the camera and the 2nd person with what looks like the wiimote.
Looking forward to confirmation. - desistere, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1When people start running emulators on the wii, I wonder if the virtual console will tank... Then again, most users probably aren't going to "hack" their console
- sharpfork, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This might actually be real... pics (since http://www.wiinja.com is being hammered): http://technorati.com/tag/wiinja
- lovkraft, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Region restrictions are the most annoying thing in the world. Why not make it EASY to buy a game? Im stuck with an Australian wii in Brazil... ordering games from the UK.
Since getting Steam installed I have bought hundreds of dollars worth of games. Its too easy to even bother downloading.
Make it easy, not hard, ok Nintendo?
