- MistressRoninS, on 10/12/2007, -2/+118His movements are balletic! its gorgeous.. I have to get this game.
- spiffyfitz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+109It takes a lot to impress me with video games, and I am thoroughly blown away. Looks like my Wii will have a friend to sit next to in a year or so.
- RomulusX86, on 10/12/2007, -5/+98Now this, Gears of War, Halo 3 , the 360 is starting to kick some serious ass.
- raingrove, on 10/12/2007, -3/+71Gears of War, Halo 3, Crysis, Alan Wake, Mass Effect and now Assasin's Creed. Xbox360 is surely the way to go!
- dgritsko, on 10/12/2007, -2/+68Good grief... first GoW and Halo 3, then Mass Effect and now Assasin's Creed... I soooo want a 360!
- HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -7/+64For those who care, it'll be on PC and PS3 also.
- spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+57I'm always amazed how much animation is overlooked in game reviews, I still think the recent Prince of Persia games are some of the best looking out there because of the quality of the animation
- sphinx13, on 10/12/2007, -2/+55OH MY GOD!!!
The freedom of movement is absolutely incredible.
I want that game so hard. - tabledesk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+43It's pretty clear that this realism is where the Wii gets left behind.
I'm a Wii owner. - coheedcollapse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+42Don't be a retard. Just because you can't wave a wiimote around to make him slash his sword doesn't mean the game isn't innovative.
If your comment is sarcasm, then sorry, it's just hard to distinguish with serious comments like that popping up everywhere. - gorilla, on 10/12/2007, -2/+38Every view this video gets makes the uploaded receive 0.20 of $1.
- thefreshbeats, on 10/12/2007, -3/+38They would be crazy to release it exclusively for PS3... anything for that matter... There are 8.5+ Million XBOX 360 owners and only 400k PS3 owners. Simple business math.
- karch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+32WOW, that was beautiful. Absolutely fluid animation. I loved the sword gameplay, and how the assassin was reastically pushed backwards with every parry.
- Paroparo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+33This has been out for ages, but HOLY CRAP! Dugg anyway due to awesomeness. This is what I call next-gen.
- loquedesea, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24dugg for usage of the word "balletic".
- GeneralFailure0, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23@tbesda
Because when people whine about dupes, they get dugg down. That's how it works. If people like something on digg, it gets dugg. It really doesn't matter if it's on here twice, as long as people who might be interested get to see this kinda stuff, so why complain? - EtherGnat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23"what about all the kids who bought a Wii and now want to play games like these?"
What about all the kids who bought Candy Land and now want to play Chutes and Ladders? What about all the kids that bought an XBox 360 and now want to play games like the Wii has? Life is about choices. Choose which one you want or you buy both.
Nintendo made a choice to make the system affordable and easy to develop for at the expense of high-end graphics. Microsoft chose not to include a next-gen disc format. Sony chose to include everything and the kitchen sink. Now consumers get to choose which philosophy they prefer. How boring it would be if all three systems were the same!
I'm not sure why you hate Nintendo so much for providing customers with an interesting choice, but let me reassure you NOBODY CARES. Don't buy one and shut the #$%@ up. - Zedtech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21As a fellow Wii owner, I'd have to say that this game leaves me stunned.
I foresee an Xbox 360 in my future. - Scagli3tti, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Ha! I was just about to post this exact link. Nice find!
More info if anyone's interested:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassin%27s_Creed - FalseProphecy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+24Well, the funny part about it is that this title was originally supposed to be a PS3 exclusive. Now we've seen what the 360 is doing with the game, but where's the PS3 demo? Nowhere to be found.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22dude, READ!!
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Animations are one of the most overlooked aspects in the graphics of a videogame. Good to see that the team working on Assassin's Creed is doing an excellent job at creating realistic and believable animations, especially for Altair.
- chembro84, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19I'm going to buy this on launch day for sure (pretty rare for me now, only a few games per year get a guaranteed purchase gameznflix pretty much eliminates the need to buy most games)
- stupidverizon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19I've decided. Im getting a 360.
- washingtonydc, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21Absolutely amazing. parkour-style movement and ninja-style stealth all during the crusades? sign me up.
this and gears of war are forcing me to get a 360. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17I agree, I recently got a wii....but daaaaaaamn the gamessss...Santa claus is comming to town!
- sphinx13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15That's hillarious.
I love how he can puch people down, and run over people with his horse. - EtherGnat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17@gxcdesign
You're one of the biggest losers on Digg. You're entitled to your opinion but your constant bashing of the Wii is getting old. The Wii isn't capable of cutting edge graphics. We all figured that out a long time ago, but a lot of us still think it's a great system.
I enjoy my PS2 and Gamecube, but nobody else ever showed the slightest interest. Everybody is addicted to the Wii, however. My parents want one for Christmas. My 80 year old Grandma couldn't get enough. Young and old, gamers and non-gamers, everybody enjoys it. Nobody has complained about the graphics once--in fact everybody loves the Miis.
There's nothing wrong with great graphics. I enjoy the graphics on my PC and I'll probably pick up an XBox 360 when the price drops. None of it takes away from the fun I'm having with my Wii, however. If nothing else it will be the greatest party game system of all time.
Your constant rants are pointless and increasingly tedious. - maiku00, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18holy god damn, that is ***** beautiful. and still just a work in progress!
I'm going to go and pick up my 360 now. - georgemoore13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14@Derelict267
Because they couldn't find a PS3 unit to demo with
:P - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16So glad this didn't end up being a PS3 exclusive...
Thank-you Ubi for keeping it real on the 360 ;) - TheThirdWheel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13This makes no sense. There are no plans to make the HD-DVD player internal. Also having it external is a bonus because you can use it for your computer!
- spidoman, on 10/12/2007, -7/+18Console war over because assassin's creed is coming out for ps3 and PC as well? And as for someone listing Crysis as a 360 title, it's still a hopeful fanboy rumor.
- macboy, on 10/12/2007, -7/+18omg, now i'm gonna buy a 360
- nipterink, on 10/12/2007, -7/+17but "i'm gonna buy a [PS3/PC]" would never escape someone's mouth.
- Alchemeron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11That actually sounds terrible. The Wii controller is NOT for every game. In fact, it would probably be an extreme hindrance for this kind of game.
- sphinx13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Except that Microsoft is putting a gaming network in Vista, too. In fact you can play with people who own 360s.
- StarManta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10"It was probably delayed so that Ubisoft could come up with the ridiculously complex AI their game concept demanded."
Fixed. - markperia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Jade Raymond is soo hot... Hottest developer out there. Not just looks too.
Anyway, Assassin's Creed looks awesome. Can't wait. - Pests, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Zipp425:
The PC doesn't have a network?
Hmm, this internet thing.
Nope, no network here! - jsdratm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Its coming out for PC too, yay!
- Lou3000, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Seriously, this game looks unbelievable. I have a 360, and Gears of War looks absolutely amazing and this has the same stellar graphics but with a really interesting gameplay aspect. The part where he runs up the wall and then does a sort of jump and turn, that just creates a game system that finally allows for total freedom. Even "free" game usually don't allow you to use every aspect of the game.
Now, for the reason I said I have a 360, this, as a gamer, games like this just make me excited. I know PS3 isn't there yet, but I hope the two systems force designers to continue to push the envelope. I hope that Forza 2 is incredible so hopefully GT5 won't be another dissapointing GT game.
Fanboys, can't we all just get along knowing that we will be playing this game next year. (and some of us will be playing Forza 2, Assassin's Creed, Halo 3, Gears of War, and games with real online support, but hey, I said I wasn't a fanboy). - TheNik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8If you watch the developer diary the producer tells you that it's because he was "initiated" into the clan and his lost finger hides his mechanical dagger-majig.
- emomakesmecry, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Assassin's Creed + 7950GT = will be pure bliss :)
- InfinitySnatch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7"Yes but how come they chose to demo it on the 360? hmm..."
Because it was shown at an Xbox convention?
Is that it? - rtini, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Anyone know when this is coming out for PC?
- orientis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9http://download.gametrailers.com/gt_vault/t_assassinscreed_x06_onstagedemo_h264.wmv
Direct link iffen you want it - RandomGuySteve, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7PCs have their advantages, but they're more expensive. Free demos, free games (if you leave out morality, no mod chips necessary), free trailers, make your own games, store everything, upgrade everything, make a living from a computer that you also play games on.
Multiplayer is almost standard. And not 4 player multiplayer. 64 player killfests with strategy, squads, vehicles, huge landscapes, fast or slow action. Thousands on Role playing servers fighting each other and mythical beasts that are the size of buildings.
Controls? Adapt any controller to the USB port. Play most game systems besides current gen, and those games usually get ported anyways (some later, in Nintendo's case, emulated a generation or two behind)
The PC comes at a price though. Near Infinite customization and near infinite upgrade potential with near infinite backwards compatibility for the occasional problem, the occasional failure, and the occasional expensive purchase.
I think the biggest prejudice that people have against PC gaming is that it has to be expensive. It doesn't, if you know what you're doing. Which you don't. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7This is supposed to be the kind of freedom you get in the next Splinter Cell "Conviction".
If Montreal is working on SC5 and producing anything like this, we're talking a AAA title. The possibilities will be endless. - MBarnwell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6get away from your computer monitor and "join the social"
