- cmgarcia, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12These retrospectives are great; they're pretty thorough given the 15 minute-ish length. They've been released weekly either Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, and I believe it's a 12 part series. Fantastic watch if you're a Final Fantasy fan, or even if you were, just for the nostalgia of watching I - IV of the retrospective series.
- schizogony, on 10/10/2007, -8/+20An FFVII remake for PS3 would make me buy a PS3. That and if they fixed the substandard battle system.
- colouredlights, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11GameTrailers.com is really putting out quality content. Not to mention that you can watch fullscreen videos, and when one is finished it automatically will move on to another, without jumping out of fullscreen. I.e. you can just sit back and see all the greatest trailers in high def glory!
- Frozenpython, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9I would also buy a PS3 for that same reason alone, and I'm sure were not the only one's (Hint, Hint to Sony/Square). But I don't know what you mean by substandard battle system I thought it was the best system they ever did.
- plizard, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10they need to do one on tactics
- SnuKs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8I miss ffvii too, but this one's about ffx & x-2 =P
- schizogony, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Nobody said it was.
- MusicMagi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6whatever, i still play this game.
- dsbum, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Must watch the next video next week.
So far the only FF in the series I haven't played--
the freakin online one, where you have to keep paying...
I'm sure I'm not missing much. - Ventolin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5They have a Metroid, a Zelda and a Final Fantasy retrospective which are all pretty well done. Personally, I'm waiting on the Castlevania retrospective.
- Malarie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5NOT
- navster15, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Well, it is a 12 part series, and they just covered X in the 7th part. I'd wager that they'll dedicate a few episodes to spinoffs to the series, with Tactics being one of them.
BTW, what happened to FF Tactics A2? I know the remake is coming to the PSP, but where's the DS love? - triont, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4If a bunch of chicks jumping around in skimpy clothing is gay, then what are you?
- SirZRX, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4i really really liked FFX, im currently playing FFX2 and i really like the new battle system and the gfxs are pretty impresive for a ps2, but i find the licenses stuff dumb and why the ***** i need to buy spells, gambits or tecknics to use them?
And im really proud to say, FFX end made me cry. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3This guy hates everything.
- Reziarfg, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I thought 7 was good. Personally, I liked 8 better though. But that's just me.
- No1nose, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I am currently re-playing FFVII and think the battle system is pretty good as it is. I just wish I could use the analog sticks to move rather than the D-pad. It would make navigating some of the pre-rendered CGI screens a lot smoother.
- cresswga, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I personally stopped after FF9 because I didn't have a PS2. After playing XII would anyone recommend going back to play X and X-2? How do they compare? (Although going back to random encounters would be annoying now)
- Adonai, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2FFTA2 is indeed coming to the DS. Here is but one of many scans as proof: http://gonintendo.com/wp-content/photos/ffac.JPG
- xtmno3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It was pretty fun, but SLOW. Everything took time time time!
- xtmno3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2A FFT DS game would be great. I loved FFT so much. Nothing like being forced to advance plot because you have leveled up so much the random encounters are impossible due to gear limitations of chapter 1. Of course, any party development was pointless once you got Orlandu, as he could pretty much do any battle himself.
- cresswga, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Me too. FFVII was the game that made me buy a PS1.
I would love to see 7 remade in the same style as FF12. - melonhedd, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I LOVE MASHING THE 'A' BUTTON
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3More like the most boring. FFXII system is the best so far.
- Lobos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Watch the first retrospective then, guy.=/
All your questions shall be answered. -_- - breakspirit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1where the hell is the zelda retrospective? fully cant find it anywhere
- Robubie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1yea 5 was my favorite.
- Reziarfg, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I would agree. This has really been a trip down memory lane for me. The Zelda one was pretty awesome as well, and you should all go check out the Metroid one too.
- spukeesan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Seriously - nothing more exciting than watching the game do all your playing for you!
/sarcasm - Ascendant, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1X isn't nearly as good as XII but that said, if you like Final Fantasy games, you'll still like it a lot.
X-2 on the other hand was insufferable, I gave up on it after about seven hours of lameness. - coolsteve, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I haven't played XII, but I can tell you that I didn't really enjoy playing X. I've finished VII, VIII, and IX. For some reason, X seemed like it went on, and on, and on... And I could tell that it will be one of those "the planet is angry" themes. I never finished the game because I got tired of it mid way.
- rurounikengyrl, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0i need a good dose of FF.
- chaseacej, on 11/06/2007, -1/+1I would like to see some more of FFX storyline expanded upon. Like how Jecht became Sin and when Auron was with him and they were guardians. They could also do a spin off of Rikku's story or even do a FFX-3 where the story just continues where FFX-2 left off.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2You must be new here.
- kalkin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0i agree, and you don't even have to "sign up" or subscribe and you aren't bombarded with ads
- coldhead, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0http://mygreatsavings.com/britishvanheusen/sitemap ...
- kalkin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0you're right, that is just you
- caddyalan, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2I wanted to like FF10, but I didn't succeed. The game started in a very linear way, and the party was rarely able to backtrack. If the game had been a little more open-ended, then I would've been more receptive to the story.
- Raptor7, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1You lose at properly replying to comments. You may have well have posted "SECOND!!!"
- kalkin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0me too, i'm currently replaying it. it's by far the best final fantasy game. you care about the characters, the story is dark and affecting, the music is the best, the battle system is my favourite with the atb and the limit breaks but my personal favourite is the materia system. it works so well and so intuitively. no other ff game has a magic/ability system like it. it has just the right level of depth. the only thing i'd change is being able to upgrade the weapons and armour.
i'd love to see a PS3 remake too.
ps. while i'm here, why is it that square seem to think that for each new ff we want to see more "toni & guy" models as main characters - seriously they all look like fashion victims. seriously what's wrong with super-deformed. they have a tonne more character than these other blanks they keep reproducing... - bennyboy371, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2The first several posters seemed to be under this impression. Neither was I.
- bennyboy371, on 10/10/2007, -8/+7It isn't a retrospective on FFVII, it's just part VII. Yeesh.
- inactive, on 11/06/2007, -2/+1Except FFX2 was gay city.
- Robubie, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1it wasn't horrible but it wasnt as great as people said... personally ffix for me.
- MusicMagi, on 10/10/2007, -3/+0hahah NIGHTS how long you been living under that rock?
As a fan of the series since it's conception, I miss the old-school final fantasies. i LOVED 4, 5 and 6, 7 was very cool too but when they hit 8 , i feel they lost it. 9 was somewhat a return to the old ways of FF and i enjoyed this one as well. I dont know about kids these days, but 8, x, x-2 just didn't do it for me. I don't think they've ever matched the story/gameplay/characters/music from 4 and 6 (jap) - carve, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1How can it be called FINAL Fantasy if there are over a dozen of 'em?
- TheHappyRobot, on 10/10/2007, -6/+2Oooh, dangerous words in nerd land!
But I agree, I really wasn't impressed, I think it is just people remembering how new and awesome it was when it first came out. - dasutin, on 10/10/2007, -5/+1sa secc ffx
- Rylinkus, on 10/10/2007, -6/+0It takes a real man to comment on a link without actually clicking it. Congrats.
- stoneyq2, on 10/10/2007, -8/+0get off my dick *****
