There is no real point to football, baseball and even chess other than having fun and competing. There is nothing wrong with doing the same in video games.

To make it easier on fata1ity they had the challenger use a Bright green skin that can be easily spotted at a mile a way, so fata1ity could snipe them with the railgun. The map also gave him the advantage because it was the map with about 3 or four platforms and no cover at all, just a map almost designed for sniping. And for some reason the menu screen was purple on the challenger's computer.
To sum it up, all fata1ity did was memorize the spawns and sniping the challenger while whoring all the items and weapons. - 0zzy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1People people! Lets get a few things strait boys and girls,
1.) This is not the first time this has happen. These shootouts are for him to get to know the people, and the people who actually beat him are actually good players. RocketBoy was an unknown to the Western eSports world until he beat Fatal1ty. And, this guy has been playing Quake 4 more then fatal1ty. Fatal1ty has been taking a break since his winning @ CPL Finals for Painkiller where he won 250k, also why he didnt go to Quake 4 @ CPL Winter for Quake 4.
2.) Fatal1ty DID play counter-strike at one point. He joined a team, but that team was taking advantage of him for publictiy and when they went to an event didnt use him. So, the next event (CyberXGames) be developed his own team made up of mostly DeathMatch-gamers, and guess what? They won their exhibit match. Then they died, but it proved that he was good at CS.
3.) This proves nothing, watch Fatal1ty at the next CPL World Series stop for Quake 4. - tryferos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bonobo, wouldnt it be that you hate his personal1ty ? :P

Your comment was so stupid that I'm going to assume it was a joke... But if it's not, I'm going to guarantee that this guy makes MORE money than you. A couple months ago he won an $150 000 prize at a tournament. And I hate to tell you but beating people at videogames matters about as much as everything else. What the hell does "contributing to life" mean? Everyone does things for pleasure, and there's tons of people that do "fun" stuff as jobs(read: professional athletes)... And about nobody knowing his name, well I'm quite sure people will still know HIS name a lot more than YOURS... I'm guessing you're just jealous that you couldn't do this kind of stuff when you were his age(which I'm guessing was a long time ago, judging by the condescending tone in your comment).

I doubt "millions". If he practiced for CS as much as he practices for Quake and Painkiller, I'm sure he'd be one of the top CS players. It's basically the same skill set, because in the end CS comes down to reaction time and strategy, just like those deathmatch games... CS really isn't that hard, and you make it sound like it's some great skill to be good at it... If playing these deathmatch games is really so easy, why don't you go out there and win some $100k+ prizes?
