Every movie out these days has it's own tie-in game that is obviously rushed to production without any thought or love, and just shoved out to make some money.
Now, I love Family Guy, don't get me wrong, but I really cannot see this being pulled off successfully either. I imagine it'll suck, but because FG fans will suck it up - and they know it - they'll make it to try and make a buck or two.
I think it was the God of War creator that said you need to put love and soul into a game... I really doubt this will have either.

- _Caboose_, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Why current gen? Why not wait until the rest of the next gen consoles come out, then make it? It'll only be about a year, and I for one am willing to wait that long. If it comes out on PS2, GC and/or Xbox, it'll be overlooked a couple months after it comes out, pushed aside by newer games for newer consoles.

I wish that companies wouldn't license a brand that has no real potential to be a good game just to dupe fans of the licensed material into buying a shoddily made game. How many people sat there watching Family Guy and said "Gee, this would make a great game!!"? Probably not too many. I love Family Guy, and I really don't want to see its good reputation shat upon by a money hungry developer.

- radixus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I don't think that will be the case. There is still a great push for current generation consoles. Plus Sony has already confirmed the PS3 delay until the holidays and probably a better chance that it will be delayed until 2007 as well.
So having this game come out for the current-gen isn't that bad. They might be releasing a port for when next-gen consoles actually start doing business!

I have been waiting for a Family Guy game for so long now, and finally someone takes the initiative to make one. But I wish they'd let gamers play as Quagmire--you know you want to...
Once it's released, we'll all have a few chuckles, maybe a few genuine guffaws, but after awhile we'll go back to laughing our [expletive deleted]s off at Peter, Lois, and all. Here's hoping some of the voices that appeared in the series make an appearnace. I really want to hear Adam West again.
Here's one last thing--an idea for a levl in the game. Why not have a racing level with Joe Swanson? (No, I'm not making fun of him; I just think it'd be interesting.) - stonedgeek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Here's my thinking:
Side scrolling or "Monkey Island" style adventure for current gen consoles and pocket pc.
Play as Peter Griffin (I don't like how they switch characters in tv crossovers)
Hidden sex mini game with Quagmire (ala gta sa) (ok, they'll have to switch characters for that bit)
Big sign on the cd case that says "Over 18s only. If you buy this game for an underage relative or friend you forfeit the right to sue or even complain"
As much gratituous sex, violence, alcohol/drug/foul language that can fit on a cdrom (people are comparing this to the simpsons games, but lets face it these are two very different shows)
