- lamiaconfitor, on 03/27/2009, -15/+194I ***** love that game, thanks for reminding me to play it!
- StupotAce, on 03/27/2009, -3/+84Fallout 3, like Oblivion, is just such a massive world that it's hard not to give Bethesda game of the year for every huge game like these they pump out, assuming the gameplay is solid, which it was in my opinion.
- salinungatha, on 03/27/2009, -12/+68Well done Bethesda and take a bow - keep those phenomenal RPG's coming (I'd love for you to do a PC exclusive again though understand the economics of why you can't)
- Misinformant, on 03/27/2009, -3/+59I don't wanna set the world on fire, baby.
- rebotfc, on 03/27/2009, -6/+60it's a great game, but they really ruined the ending.
- JesusSaidSo, on 03/27/2009, -11/+62Buy a gaming PC. You won't regret it.
- ifruit, on 03/27/2009, -9/+55PC FTW.
- cardyology, on 03/27/2009, -2/+4265+ hours & I still havn't completed the main quest....
Found the UFO crash ***** though! - jabbajabba, on 03/27/2009, -3/+42I loved the game apart from one thing - getting stuck in dialogs with AI characters that you have already had - this stopped me playing it twice round and could have been sorted with a back button.

Stand still, take a look, congratulate yourself, go back to first person for actual gameplay.
- Kypt, on 03/27/2009, -0/+31*SPOILER*
I still don't get WHY it had to end that way. I mean my mutant "friend", who had ALREADY done this before DECLINED my request. I mean nothing was going to happen to him...not cool man - IpwnZnoobs, on 03/27/2009, -7/+362008 was 3 months ago
- dekuscrub, on 03/27/2009, -2/+30I was in my Grandpa's truck the other day and he had it on a radio station that plays all those old 1930's/1940's stuff... and I actually recognized one of the songs from Galaxy News Radio.
I immediately wanted to start shooting people with my Scoped Magnum. :D - AdmiralJimbob, on 03/27/2009, -0/+28I'm looking for my father. Middle-aged guy. You seen him?
- CollapseControl, on 03/27/2009, -2/+27That explosion sure as hell isn't overrated!
I have a special save point right before I flip the switch so I can constantly reload and blow that ***** town up.
I blow it up in the morning, at noon, afternoon, in the evening, at night, around midnight. I just love watching that explosion. - Triplastic, on 03/27/2009, -1/+25Are there robots and laser rifles?
- CrazySpaniard, on 03/28/2009, -0/+24BONGO BONGO BONGO I DONT WANNA LEAVE THE CONGO OH NO NO NONONO
- Inverno, on 03/27/2009, -0/+22I think his point is these sort of calls are typically made in the December-January time-frame.
I think the submitter should have mentioned GDC in the title to avoid this sort of debate. - norman619, on 03/27/2009, -3/+24Play it. You won't be disappointed. One of the best FPS RPG I've played in a long time. But it sound slike the console version had some issue. I rec the PC version.
- laserdog, on 03/27/2009, -4/+25It deserves it, it is an amazing game.
I want to hug each and every developer*.
*Except for the one who designed the quest where you fight those annoying Fire Ants over and over. That dev deserves a punch in the nuts. - NateMorrow, on 03/27/2009, -0/+20Not to mention I had a Radiation suit and metric crap ton of Rad-X and RadAway in my inventory. I was only taking maybe 5 rads/s on my way to the switch. I could have set up shop in there and had an all-night party with TJ.
- ran24, on 03/27/2009, -0/+20Ugh, please don't use the 3rd person view in combat. 1st person is a lot easier and accurate.
- Vintersemestre, on 03/27/2009, -0/+20I just want to start a flame in your heart
- NeoTechni, on 03/27/2009, -3/+22Hunting rifle to the head, they go down easier than Paris Hilton
- confoundedjoe, on 03/27/2009, -2/+18For all the "I wanna sit on my couch and use my tv!" people, have you not heard of a DVI-HDMI cable/adapter. I got a 25ft cable off buy.com for 15 bucks and with my 9800gtx I ran the spdif out on my MB through the input on it so I get full surround audio through the HDMI too. Fallout 3 at full 1080p plus high resolution textures on a 42in LCD is great. And I have a 360 controller for my PC too so I can play stuff like Pure and Burnout with good controls. The whole rig barely cost me more than a PS3 since I buy smart and build myself.
- JesusSaidSo, on 03/27/2009, -3/+19"I sunk tens of thousands of dollars into gaming PC's"
Holy *****, you're a liar. Lets assume by "Tens of Thousands" you mean $30,000 at minimum.
A damn near bleeding edge gaming PC will run you about $2000 every two years.
So by many years, you mean 15 years? Something is fishy about your claims there buddy. - kingcam, on 03/27/2009, -4/+20Definitely shouldn't have won best writing, not after that cop out of an ending!
- jedinate, on 03/27/2009, -1/+17I'm on my 3rd play through and haven't had any issues, but I'm on a pc.
- norman619, on 03/27/2009, -2/+18The PC version did not suffer from such problems. It was great.
I still can't get the music out of my head.
"He's chippin that meat!" - Harabeck, on 03/27/2009, -0/+15Who cares about the main quest, it's more fun to never finish.
- JakeyG14, on 03/27/2009, -1/+16They're the freaking same!
- ninjan, on 03/27/2009, -3/+17Giddyup Buttercup - every little girls dream!
- Acqua206, on 03/27/2009, -0/+14I'm the complete opposite. I heard all the raves about Mass Effect yet I couldn't get into it. I gave it three tries but it just wasn't fun for me. Now Fallout 3 on the other hand, it completely sucked me up and took away half my spring break. Games that suck me in like Fallout and Oblivion did always remind me that I should never, ever, ever play an MMORPG w/ no ending/conclusion. I hated myself the past couple days for playing 10+ hours a day. I'm done with it now and won't be doing anything like that again for a while.
- inactive, on 03/27/2009, -1/+15Did you ever play Morrowind? It's better than Oblivion.
- Terasiel, on 03/27/2009, -3/+17*****. I have both. Oblivion is far, far less intuitive for me. The character's stats and abilities are far different.
The only thing that makes this like Oblivion is a very similar interface and essentially running on the same engine. Otherwise this is like calling Left 4 Dead a Half-Life 2 clone. - sildude, on 03/27/2009, -0/+14I found Oblivion more immersive than Fallout 3. Also the environment with its uniformity gets tiring and boring after a while; everything is the same shade of gray but thats an artistic choice and I respect that. And no matter how colorful Oblivion was, it didn't have no V.A.T.S.
- kmaximilian, on 03/27/2009, -0/+13I admit that Oblivion has a better story, as I can't forgive how much of a cop-out the ending of Fallout 3 feels like. Still, Fallout 3 is overall a much better game. Oblivion's combat is boring and repetitive (V.A.T.S. fixes that), the voice work is pretty terrible in Oblivion besides the really important NPCs, and I found the bombed-out Capitol Wastelands so much more interesting than Oblivion's world. That's my own opinion, though.
Also, I second the statement "Morrowind is better than Oblivion". I love that game. - wamitch, on 03/27/2009, -0/+13"One of the best FPS RPG I've played in a long time"
I mean honestly, how many of these types of games actually exist? - ifruit, on 03/27/2009, -1/+14My Character did look badass when I put on the Erotic Sleepwear I found.
- FirstCuts, on 03/27/2009, -14/+27I admittedly didn't play Fallout 3. I feel like a lot of the games last year were really hype driven, and then once you got down to it, they were highly flawed and frustrating.
- sugarazor, on 03/27/2009, -0/+12Yeah, I put in over 81 hours before I finished the game, and that's not even counting the DLC. I can't remember the last game I put that much time into, probably something on the SNES or PS1.
- cardyology, on 03/27/2009, -0/+11Ooops meant to say crash SITE, not *****.
- EntangledPhysx, on 03/28/2009, -1/+12Someones got sand in their vagina
- and303, on 03/27/2009, -14/+25"Rivals" GTA4? Are you kidding me? It largely surpasses GTA4 on every conceivable level.
- Memitim, on 03/27/2009, -0/+11*SPOILERS CONTINUE*
I had the same issue with it as I had loaded up on the anti-radiation gear, too, but someone explained it to me in a way that made sense, although I haven't bothered finishing the main quest again to verify. Apparently it isn't radiation that kills you but rather the control room gets flooded with plasma and you burn to death.
Still a lame ending overall, but at least that would make a bit more sense. - FFXIfrohike, on 03/27/2009, -0/+10I don't want to set the world on fire...
- kodax, on 03/27/2009, -1/+11Blowing up Megaton is a bit overrated. Anyway, the Megaton shack is much better than the Tennpeny suite in terms of storage areas and quick access.
- blah247, on 03/27/2009, -0/+10Fallout 3 is a really fun game. I usually don't play single player games because they always seem repetitive and lame, but this game I played about a month.
- opensourcer, on 03/27/2009, -1/+10Kudos to World of Goo. I'm so glad they got some recognition.
