- lardoandkeg, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7Sony isn't "paying" me anything, i have posted stories on here about the wii, ps3, and 360 in both positive and negative light. You and I had one debate on a completely separate post (which I stand by) and it now appears that I now have a digg.com stalker.
Oh and you think I have it out for Microsoft right? And I am all about Sony right? I submitted this story as welll...
http://www.ripten.com/2007/05/29/ps3-feeling-left-out-sony-ready-to-slash-its-price/ Let me guess, you think Sony paid me for that one too?
It looks like the person that hungers for attention here is you buddy. Get a life.
- jeffabs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Sony may have done some anti consumer stuff recently, but you're seriously arguing that they're worse than MS in this regard?
- ptaylor, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5The article is news to me, but the subject isn't. Sony messed up by promising the world and not delivering it (yet) for $600. The PS3 project was not executed correctly by a long shot and they are still screwing up in some areas (and I own a PS3) but they are making inroads in others. the XBox 360 is a hot product and it is worth the money, but as Sony well know, when gamers get agitated, they get relentless! No one wants to plop $400 on a hot game system and then when you go to fire it up to release stress on Vegas or just show go and see what's up on XBL, the red arcs around the power button lights up and you know that you have to get on the phone get in a screaming and yelling match that scares your kids (because Microsoft is trying to hustle you for $140) just to get Microsoft to send a "coffin" to you to service or replace part of your being.
I don't know if yours have died on you and I never had a 360, but I can imagine the type of thoughts that would be going through my head if I knew my system just died and I have to go through BS to get it fixed or replaced. Then to top it off, Microsoft is denying the problem by saying that this type of 'ish is normal with electronic products. I cannot find a mydeadrazr.com site, a mywiidied.com, or a mydellistoast.net but Google "dead 360" or "Red Rings of Death" there are a lot of these sites because there has to be MANY failures to have SOOOO many sites dedicated to just this issue. The problem is that Microsoft is giving some but not full empathy to the situation and for the gamers, there isn't an option. The PS3 doesn't have the games yet and the Wii is not a next-gen system.
As a PS3 owner, I almost hated Digg and other video game sites because the PS3 was (is still) getting crucified. Video gamers and Digg people will run a story down your throat whether you got it or not. The PS3's marketing team really f'ed the PS3 over with all of this elaborate jizz and fizz but when manufacturing and now developers cannot back up these claims, it causes the pitchforks and torches to come out. Now, the 360 design and support team is f'ing up. If you design a system and test it, then you have to come to an acceptable level of defective systems in order to go ahead and launch the system to the public. Microsoft rushed the 360 and now 25% to 33% of 360 owners are getting f'cked this summer and it's a shame because the 360 is a great system. My neighbor's died in June, but Madden played very well on his HDTV. If I had to spend a week plus waiting for my system to get serviced in wherever, I'd probably die.
That being said, I can understand how people (especially the Digg-nation) may run this story into the ground. When a company make promises on a product that a consumer buys into and the product and/or company doesn't deliver (and the company's at fault), that's a betrayal, a lie, a slap in the face. You may just see more of these types of Diggs as the summer goes on, especially since M$FT won't release any failure rates. Aren't they a software company that deals with mammoth amounts of data daily? I'm pretty sure that they know what the 360 failure rate is. - lardoandkeg, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7@Truespector (AKA: Microsoft Fan Boy)
Pretty much every single thing you have dugg has been pro 360 and anti PS3. While I own a 360 and enjoy it (although it is my SECOND ONE) you buddy are nothing more than a Microsoft fan boy.
Microsoft could poop in your hand, tell you it was chocolate, and you would eat it. Go preach your happy horse ***** elsewhere. - skatiN64, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3well I guess that does it for the 360. I'm selling mine to get a ps3
- omygroin, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I'm so surprised!
/sarcasm
Get real Truespector, everyone knows about the Xbox360's horrible failure rate. I'd say 33% is a pretty conservative figure since almost all the people at my school (video games club) who owns 360s have had it died on them only months after purchase.
However, the Wii and PS3 are completely rock solid. I haven't heard anyone who's system had died on them yet through normal use.
My PS3 was downloading games and trailers for a whole day and I came back and played it through the weekend and its not even breaking a sweat.
This is called good engineering and using high quality products.
MS rushed out the 360 with cheap parts and poor design and now most of their customers are paying the price through no fault of their own. It is a hardware defect and MS must admit it. - omygroin, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4yeh just like all the X outselling PS3 by Y amount ; MGS4 Confirmed for 360; or PS3 SUX stories?
- LiLPeanut80, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5I love the drawing of the dead xbox guy on the ground and the other xbox's looking at him like "oh no". lol.
- lardoandkeg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3amen to that brotha.
- charlescheese, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2@truspector,
What is Microsoft paying you? What a silly question. 360 owners should be up in arms about the 360 failure rate instead of denying and defending ol' softy. They can afford a recall, and a recall is what is obviously needed here. Everyone should be screaming about this. It's a huge ripoff that people are being made to buy warranties and/or pay $140 to repair a console that's got a significant design flaw. - vrecchia, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4Spector, I am a fan of Microsoft and I got no problem telling you that you make us all look bad.
- Nostradavis, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3HAHAHA! That picture is worth sharing with friends.
- truspector, on 10/11/2007, -7/+3I never claimed I wasn't a MS fanboy. I also love Nintendo products, however, I loathe Sony and the anti consumer ***** they've been spewing for the last three years. What I am sick of seeing is the same damn article posted every single day. It got old last week. Now it's just irritating.
- truspector, on 10/11/2007, -13/+3@Lardoandkeg
What is sony paying you? You seem intent on destroying the image of the 360. Which exclusive did the PS3 lose that upset you so bad or are you just looking for attention. I'm going to have to bury this, not because it's spam, not because it's a dupe, not because it's been on the front page ten times already, not because IT'S ON THE FRONT PAGE RIGHT NOW, but because it is speculative and inaccurate, but because I seriously doubt a few gamestop employees with a single H.S. degree between 5000 of them could calculate the failure rate of two toasters when neither of them work.

What is Digg?
