European PS3 Has New "Hardware Specification": Limited PS2 Compatibility
gamingbits.com — In an effort from Sony to reduce hardware component costs, Sony Europe today announced that the EU release of the PS3 will not have PS2 hardware chips found in current PS3s. The list of PS2 compatible titles to be revealed March 23rd, the launch day of the PS3 in Europe. Software emulation replaces the PS2 hardware chip; not all PS2 games will work
