- Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I think this mod has a future. I played it back when Beta 1 came out, and for a beta it was pretty solid. Only a single map at the time, but it was the most unique mod to come out for HL2 so far. Now with this beta 2.0 it looks like they've added tons of content including new ships, so I'm really excited about it. Support mods guys!

http://mods.moddb.com/1939/eternal-silence-2/ - Userfaulty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Theres a mod in X3 reunion that adds the ships from Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, and quite a few other genres. Really really steep learning curve but well worth it. You can get X3 through Steam.
- xVern, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3just played it. Looks like it'll be fun once you get used to it. Not one of those games you pick up and own at your first try.
- AlexMax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Any word on if this is less laggy and jittery than the last beta? Last I tried, spaceships were getting stuck sideways into the landing pads and space combat was secondary to shipboard combat because it was so damn hard to hit someone.
- idigital, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wow, I was just thinking last night (watching Star Trek) how cool it would be to have a game where you can run around in big ships and then jump in a fighter for some space dogfight action and here it is! I love the web :) Seriously though it's innovative stuff like this from the modding community which gives me hope for the future of indie gaming. After all, the big gaming houses may have huge teams and lots of money, but the web gives the same potential to indie projects.
- Iced_Eagle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yup, most of that is fixed.
While going through the code, we discovered some MAJOR issues with space ship hitboxes which made them damn hard to hit. Once we fixed that bug we actually had to tone down the normal machine gun fire in space since it was so deadly with the correct hitboxes.
We are also planning on releasing a patch hopefully this week which will fix even more lag issues :)
I hope everyone is enjoying our mod and give us lots of crits on our forums so we know what works and what sucks :-D
~Brian - ghst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2this game looks like it'll be fun. kinda reminds me of that freeware game that disappeared, ace of angels...
- spiffyfitz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Now all I need is a server with people playing... Does anyone know of one?
- retral, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Freelancer... eh.
While some people like to stick to 'original' games, others like to move on to more modern games; X3 Reunion, Darkstar One..
I'm looking forward to (though not as much as I'm looking forward to mainstream stuff like Spore) seeing what Genesis Rising & Space Force 2 have in store. - gumbyender, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2SPAWNPOINT fixed the download issue - getting 1mb/s again
http://www.spawnpoint.com/games/Eternal_Silence_Beta_2_-_CLIENT.html - MnMs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I played beta1, it was a bit laggy (didn't know if it was my crappy computer or the whole fact that it was just a beta). I'll download it later and hopefully it'll be fixed, since it has great potential.
- thelimopit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You should try Freelancer
