- Dan11023, on 02/25/2008, -8/+315GOOD! EA would have screwed up the gta franchise!
- penguinhunter, on 02/25/2008, -0/+137But sadly Take-Two is willing to talk after the release of GTA IV
- NyteStarNyne, on 02/25/2008, -4/+111It's not over. EA will stop at nothing until they can release a "GTA Street" title.
- doughnu7, on 02/25/2008, -1/+78For some reason "GTA Pro Street 7 - presented by Mountain Dew & Nokia" doesn't have the same ring to it as simply "GTA".
- inactive, on 02/25/2008, -4/+62I just wish they would take the $2 billion they are investing in all of these companies, and spend them on making their games actually worth a *****. Quit buying out companies, and spend more money on developers.. your games ***** suck. You have ruined some of the greatest game franchises to date.. spend the money internally, not externally.
- jordanlgta, on 02/25/2008, -1/+51No, but having more GTA's more often to increase profits WOULD be harmful.
- thebellmaster1x, on 02/25/2008, -1/+50At least I'll be able to start GTA IV without hearing "EA. IT'S IN THE GAME."
- Ridikul, on 02/25/2008, -10/+54Not really bitchslapped, EA will still (sadly) buy Take Two, after GTA IV is released. It makes no difference either way for us gamers.
- ZephyrNinety, on 02/25/2008, -3/+43GTA V: Dub City
Rated E for Everyone - thekms, on 02/25/2008, -1/+39So what you're trying to say is, you're not going to sell out NOW, just in two months or so after you cash in on GTA IV. Thanks, big difference for all of us who actually give a crap how future Grand Theft Auto games will turn out.
- martinj88, on 02/25/2008, -2/+33Yeah but at least GTA V will be available to play on the 360, PS3, Wii, PC, PSP, DS, Phone, PS2, Xbox, Megadrive, Snes, pocket calculator and your watch...........
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 02/25/2008, -1/+30GTA without blood wouldn't have been nearly as fun.
- inactive, on 02/25/2008, -4/+27Thank ***** God.
One of my favorite things is NFL videogames. When EA got an exclusivity contract with the NFL, that was the end of that. Every year we get the same rehashed slightly shinier Madden game, with no competition to force them to improve.
EA doesn't try to raise the bar, it tries to buy the bar and keep it in a stationary position. - KloroFormd, on 02/25/2008, -1/+24Proper grammar is key when attempting to flame.
- clarient, on 02/25/2008, -4/+20EA: Monopolize Everything.
- voomfoo, on 02/25/2008, -2/+17"TAKE-TWO chicken mcnuggets and shove them up your ass".... i hope someone gets the reference...
- quaunaut, on 02/25/2008, -16/+31Right, you mean like how they've 'screwed up' so many franchises in the last year right? You understand that of all of EA's major releases last year...that most were actually pretty ***** awesome? Lets look at the list of excellent:
1. Crysis. And to those who say this game is all graphics and no gameplay, stop bitching and realize you're wrong. Play it again and stop feeling hurt because your rig can't play it. Then if you still disagree, show me another game with anywhere near that level of sophistication in a nearly-open-world gameplay format.
2. skate. Comon. You can't even argue this one: Huge risk for EA, goes against all of the advice of most suits in the industry(to 'stay away' from realism), and in general was ***** awesome.
3. They're publishing Valve's games without bitching about Steam. If anything deserves a pat on the back, its that.
4. Command & Conquer 3. Also lots of fun, and they haven't 'screwed up the franchise' yet.
Seriously, get a ***** grip. I know a lot of people hate EA because they hate all big publishers, and some of you still remember EA Spouse(as I do), but the company has done a hell of a 180. Hell, they're even letting Tiburon(their Madden guys) test themselves out on non-Madden material. - dmoney22, on 02/25/2008, -0/+13Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
- zeromancer, on 02/25/2008, -2/+15i thought Microsoft was the Microsoft of the gaming world?
- ieataquacrayons, on 02/25/2008, -2/+15Steal the cars, get them to chop shops?
- Shrubber, on 02/25/2008, -4/+16The fact that EA even has the money to afford buying another major developer is just not right. Sooner or later, monopoly laws are going to come into effect if EA keeps buying out so many devs.
- DrMilkdad, on 02/25/2008, -0/+12Hardly sounds like they got bitchslapped considering they're opening discussions with them again immediately after GTA 4 is released.
- blahtastic, on 02/25/2008, -0/+12EA sucks for multiple reasons. Take a look. http://tinyurl.com/33ayxm (Wikipedia-EA Criticism)

EA would have screwed up EVERY franchise T2 has. How the hell do they make money? - gritta, on 02/25/2008, -1/+11Burnout: 2001

6 games in 6 years. - DontEatTheFish, on 02/25/2008, -3/+13yeah... and don't forget about the hot coffee
- MarkOfTheDead, on 02/25/2008, -4/+13To both of you: ***** EA. I don't give a ***** about their games because they're a bunch of crooked ***** and I refuse to spend my hard earned money on making their empire ***** worse. These douchebags were the same ones that had employees editing wikipedia to favor EA removing neutral information including that with information about a lawsuit (that they LOST mind you and had to pay out 14 mil) and the best explanation they had was "companies routinely check up and make edits on their entries in wikipedia to keep information accurate". Yeah, ok. So based on ethics I refuse to make them richer and you do what you please but I'll know I still have my integrity. oh and P.S. they're just ***** games, other developers make awesome ones for all consoles or pc. I stick with those.
- tapo, on 02/25/2008, -0/+9It's a hostile bid, so it doesn't matter if the board says 'No.'
If the shareholders think it's a good idea, they'll take it, and EA will kick the board out. - ortucis, on 02/25/2008, -2/+11Hating EA makes you look cool.. at least on the internet.
- iceman2020, on 02/25/2008, -2/+10please don't sell to EA.. ugh.. how many games can they ruin.
- unrealmp3, on 02/25/2008, -0/+8Or GTA Underground.
- MackPrime, on 02/25/2008, -0/+8skate is actually a complete 180 from Tony Hawk games. It's actually amazing.
- cthellis, on 02/25/2008, -0/+8As a crime drama - yes.

7 games in 7 years. - stalefries, on 02/25/2008, -0/+8Or sell before they plummet.
- paradigmx, on 02/25/2008, -0/+8you know, I used to hate EA, but over the past couple yearsthey're product quality has been improving. The newest Medal of Honor is really enjoyable, The burnout series is pretty fun, The Orange Box is one of the best dollars-to-gameplay values around, Skate reinvented skateboarding games and Rockband is way more feature-rich than Guitar Hero 3.
I'm not a sport fan so I can't comment on the Sports lineup, but I've heard they're improving the quality their as well. - EvilCan, on 02/26/2008, -3/+11Is there a company that the Internet hates more than EA? Oh *****, I forgot about Microsoft and Comcast.
- csiprun, on 02/25/2008, -0/+7 EA will homogenize the video game industry like Clear Channel did for the airwaves.
- Wartz, on 02/25/2008, -1/+8"3. They're publishing Valve's games without bitching about Steam. If anything deserves a pat on the back, its that."
Actually EA completely ***** up the Orange Box for PS3, Command and Conquer 3 was horribly unbalanced and had several game breaking bugs and they had absolutely ziltch to do with how well Crysis turned out.
EA sucks. - iamichi, on 11/12/2008, -0/+7Couldn't disagree more. I think EA are total crap. It's all about maximising profit with them. They ruin everything they get their hand on. I realised that a long time ago and have never even come close to changing my mind once. They publish movie games, which as we all know suck, Need For Speed which is rubbish, C&C was better under Westwood. Fed up with them buying everyone up.
- titlesaysitall, on 02/25/2008, -2/+9Usesless if I cannot PVP your mom.
- inactive, on 02/25/2008, -12/+19Everything EA touches turns to *****. Period. Thank god someone has some sense.
- paradigmx, on 02/25/2008, -0/+6but not the ngage, obviously, nothing is ever released for that
- PhilMoskowitz, on 02/25/2008, -1/+7This predatory business environment is going to have us living in a Demolition Man world where we all eat at taco bell and play the one game that EA released that year for a licensing fee of $110 per month. Is there any interest in supporting competition and innovation anymore?
- EmitStop, on 02/25/2008, -3/+9Long live the D!

- Opteron, on 02/25/2008, -1/+7They own Crytek about as much as they own Valve, which is not at all.
- GhostRican, on 02/25/2008, -0/+6God I hope you're wrong.
