- CollapseControl, on 08/07/2008, -1/+0Played the Trial and it is a very interesting game, the way it plays reminds me a little bit of Cloning Clyde (XBLA), but a lot more advanced.
I think a lot more people should be paying attention to this game over Fat Princess. - bigfatpaulie, on 08/07/2008, -3/+18 Reasons you don't need to:
1. The game is very short. Even if you get stuck on some of the puzzles, most players put this at about 3 - 5 hours tops.
2. There is little to no replayability. Once you've figured the game out you likely won't play it again except to show it off and say, "Look how cool I am for liking this game."
3. There is no resale/trade value for it. This is a problem with downloadable games across the board, but it becomes a bigger issue the higher the price.
4. You need those points. There are 4 other top notch games releasing on XBLA this month. Geometry Wars 2, Bionic Commando, Galaga Legions & Castle Crashers. And Castle Crashers is rumored to be another higher than average priced download.
5. It will go down in price. This game is almost guaranteed to go to the "Arcade Hits" and drop to the 800 pts price. The developer himself has hinted at this strategy.
6. It encourages higher price points for XBLA releases. 800pts for an original XBLA game should be the norm.
7. It's pretentious as hell. Let's be honest here. This is a very artsy game and a decent platform/puzzle game. But this is not the second coming like a lot of reviewers would have you think. If you read the story and don't roll your eyes, you've got some emo issues you need to deal with.
8. The developer is kind of a douche. If you haven't already read some of his comments from interviews and his blog let me sum up some of his statements. Braid is better than Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, and comparable to Psychonauts and Beyond Good & Evil. He has no influence in the price of his own game. He owes people money. Space Giraffe is the best game on XBLA. - KingGoonie, on 08/07/2008, -3/+0I played the demo for a bit but didn't finish it.... it wasn't bad it just wasn't all that great either, just a so-so game... and NOT WORTH 15 BUCKS AT ALL. I mean really microsoft, really!?!?!?!?!
