Any time someone tries to pick up another person's vision and run with it, the outcome is rarely as good as the original.
Warren Spector made the original DE great. A Deus Ex game without him is more likely to suck -- just like the Batman movies sucked after Tim Burton stopped directing them. Batman didn't recover until they completely reimagined the series with Batman Begins.
