- Thorlord, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31i don't have a problem with it.
more gaming love for everyone.
good trade off so far though, Eternal Sonata for Assassians Creed
rather than have fanboys bicker. look at the bright side: now more people get to enjoy these amazing looking next-gen games! - charlescheese, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Sofo, what's the matter man? Ease up a bit and read what thor said again. It don't think you understood him. If you did, your comment makes no sense to me.
- sugarazor, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11The PS3 and 360 aren't THAT different from each other, I don't see why it's a problem. They each have their strengths and weaknesses, but it's nothing that would make a game so much better because it was specifically designed for the 360 or the PS3.
- andydumi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7You dont think MS knows? Did you mean Sony?
- SuMizzle, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6The last thing the PS3 doesn't need is games...
- PerfectVictim, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Less exclusivity is always a good thing if you ask me.

If there was one game I would eventually buy a 360 for (when they are much cheaper) it would be this one. Chopin + RPG? Awesome. - gebx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4The 360 is bundling this game with the Core Unit in Japan, I wonder how Microsoft will react, or if they'll even care.
- CanadianGeese, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Thorlord, I'm with you. Great news for all gamers.
I'd expect most people to play it on the 360 (because of achievements and Xbox Live). But, now PS3 owners can share in the fun, too! =) - weeman43302, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1oddigy
what hes trying to say is that if a company didn't have to make the game for multiple consoles then they could spend more of the time fixing the game and making it the best possible.
makes some sense but i'm sure that the games aren't a lot worse then they could be - oddigy, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7Wait wait wait, what the heck?
Where in the world did you get the idea that system exclusivity = better game?
Since when do games become mediocre if they're developed for multiple systems?
How does the quality of a game suffer if it is developed for all three or even two consoles? You seem to incorrectly assume that the respective versions of the game will be dumbed down to take advantage of NONE of the features of either console.
That is a pretty shallow assumption.
Furthermore, I support Tri-Ace/Tri-Crescendo above and beyond any console manufacturer; I know how devoted their programmers are, and I know for certain that they will not release a lackluster product, regardless of which consoles it appears on.
I am ecstatic to hear that Eternal Sonata/Trusty Bell's audience just grew by a margin - however large that margin is is irrelevant.
My household contains a Wii and a 360. I'm still waiting for the reason to buy a PS3, but this game may be it if it offers something the 360 version does not.
Here's an example that shoots your blathering in the foot - Soul Calibur II. It was released for PS2, XBox and GameCube. Each version had an exclusive character. That sounds like going above and beyond to me. I wish more game developers did things like that. - TangerineDream, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Soul Calibur II was actually ported over from the Japanese arcade version to all three systems. It is not hard to code a fighting game onto a new system since there is a very limited range of movement and fixed scenery. But look at it this way. All the work being put into making a game multiplatform could instead be put into making one stellar game for just one gaming console. Coding a game for different systems takes lots of work. That time could be better spent
- TangerineDream, on 10/12/2007, -9/+9I am really disturbed that many games are being released on more than one next gen console. It hinders companies like Ubisoft and Rockstar from making new and innovative games exclusive to one system. Instead of getting a really good game on ONE gaming system, we get one average game across three systems. But in the end it is all about profit right?
- TangerineDream, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4Yeah they might not be different graphically by that much, but the coding process for each system is vastly different from one gaming system to the next.
- LiquidChimera, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4Why would the Japanese want a core system? I hate to make cultural generalizations, but aren't they ahead of the rest of the world in in house consumer electronics?
- jacksons98, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5It will probably be a timed exclusive. I'm sure Namco will want their marketing dollars from Microshaft before they release on PS3.
- bergetun, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4TangerineDream have a valid point. We wont see the full potential of the next gen console if the game is cross platform.
- oddigy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0How do you justify that statement?
Furthermore, TangerineDream's comment stated:
"Coding a game for different systems takes lots of work. That time could be better spent"
How does he know? Is he in the gaming industry?
I am admittedly not, but I do know quite a bit about the software development process.
The core apps that are used to create the game's assets are extremely similar regardless of the platform. Once the assets are created, it is not that much work to port them to other platforms.
Also, as I've said in my previous reply, I know of Tri-Ace/Tri-Crescendo's work (Namco is only the publisher), and I know it's not going to be half-assed.
The goal is for the game to sell more copies. This increases the likelihood that the developer will release more games, period. Why see this is as bad thing? - sysoprock, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4Isn't this kind of like banging the fat chick after you've already landed the prom queen?
- Amorn, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Ps3 doesnt need some sonata game, they got FF13 for ***** sake
- TangerineDream, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2But fat chicks give better head cause they always hungry and know how to work it with the mouth.
- Sofocore, on 10/12/2007, -39/+3why would YOU have a problem with it? and why would anyone care if you do? you didn't DEVELOPED the game, you didn't CODE the game, you didn't DIRECT the game, this is all up to the developers. I been kinda interested in this game for a while at least now I can get it for the PS3.
