- TheCount, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's just fu*****g ridiculous. I'm boycotting EA, what kind of garbage is this?
- Wamzlee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Petition don't do *****....large companies are only swayed by the dollar...not by public opinion like a petition.
As long as the money truck keeps coming in with the dough, they will keep polishing an old turd.
Boycott is what needs to be done... - TheCount, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree completely. This has absolutely nothing with giving a better product to the customer, this is all about their pockets, and I'm getting sick of it. I'm sure if there was a way for them to buy the rights to "first person shooters" or "role playing games", they would gladly do it.
- butrtoes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0well, now we know that EA will have ZERO motivation to develop quality. Their games will continue to be GARBAGE.
NHL next? - TheCount, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Pharmd, you don't have to be a madden hater to understand that a lack of competition is not a good thing.
Having no choice in ANY GENRE of games is a bad thing. Imagine only company had rights to fighting games, or adventure games, tell me you wouldn't find that ridiculous?
This isn't about being a fan of a specific game, it's about wanting every year to be a noticeable improvement on the last, rather than just getting new rosters. - deegin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree with Wamzlee.. although a nice idea, petition's in this matter will most likely do nothing.
I overlooked the EA-NFL deal, because I figured that it would give 2K Games the chance to focus on and create one heck of an NCAA Football game.. but I guess that was just shot down. - holmesxt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i always told my gaming clan that ea games was evil. it was a joke.
never thought it'd actually be true. - phore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0There are plenty of reasons out there to boycot EA, we should all be doing this. EA is trying to monopolize the gaming industry.

- Jammerdelray, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0EA used to make awesome games but what the heck happened this year?!? EA needs to get back to their roots
- HashPipeK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm in, although I doubt it will get far. The sports fans love their games and well Sega was sticking it to EA so rather than be competative they just brought the dump truck of money and said give exclusive rights. Eat a dick EA.
- b0neman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Madden has cheated since 2K1. It didn't matter if I was fielding the Rams vs. the lowly Bengals or my hapless Chargers. Somehow Ryan Leaf's strong arm would outmatch Warner to Faulk or Holt late in the game and the refs would call a misplaced jockstrap on every play pushing me back to my own endzone.
Drove me crazy!!! So, after one last try with Madden 2K3, I fearfully defected to ESPN football and never looked back! Now, I'll have to revamp rosters until I'm too old to play video games which won't be too long from now as I'm only 36 and a half years old! - pharmd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I dont think they will waste time and effort in an NHL deal since hockey has fallen from the sports scene...they will focus more on the ever growing nascar and golf areas.
And butrtoes are you a football fan in anyway shape or form? madden lets you be coach and call all the plays...graphics are awesome..and playabiliy lasts till the new one comes out. so what more do you want from a game? - stevey5036, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oh yippie...
- wormdrink, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like Madden and NCAA Football, but honestly, I haven't played the ESPN games. If it weren't for those games last year, Madden would have still cost $50 as apposed to the new $25 answer to ESPN. The ESPN games got just as good reviews. Those are cold hard facts. EA now owns the rights, so get ready for $50 to plop down on a game that will be dated after one year. What will motivate EA to make better features? THEY WILL HAVE NO COMPETITION. I am not sure what is so hard to understand about why this is BS.
- dandiemer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i don't think a petition titled "Madden 2005" which talks about boycotting Madden 2006 is gonna do any good what so ever.
- fef560, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Winning Eleven's European counterpart is more popular then EA's Fifa around the world, except in the US where the series just came to.
- quantumottle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The thought of EA getting exclusive NHL rights scares the hell out of me. Madden, while not as good as SEGA's football game, is still a pretty good game. But the EA Sports NHL release is a total piece of garbage compared to the SEGA NHL release. It will be a sad, sad day for me if EA gets NHL exclusive rights.
As some have already said, petitions mean nothing to multinational corporations like EA, it's all about the money. the ONLY way you have any say in what's happening is to NOT buy EA products. I used to run the #1 EA hockey fan site in the world, and I know from a decade of experience that no matter how many people say they will not buy the new game it's total BS - they always buy it. And if I know this to be a fact then of course EA does too. We're all screwed... - butrtoes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm sorry pharmd but i believe that even though there was no NHL season this year, EA did release a game... which I bought and did find that it was by far the buggiest video game I've ever played.
When I said NHL next I was indicating that is the next pro league they buy out.
Lastly, i've absolutely played EA sports games and i must say that just because Madden is overhyped and marketed well does not make it a great game. I stopeed buying it two years ago. - pharmd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0have any of you rejects actually played an EA sports game in your life?
Madden -#1 sports game in the country for X amount of years running
Fifa-#1 soccer game in europe (as well as other countries im sure)
EA makes awesome games..other developers need to stop ***** around if they want to keep up
and no butrtoes - NHL is not next fool...cuz there is no NHL league right now...dont comment on sports if you know aboslutly nothing about it!
