- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+29because you get to play an RTS on a console? your life apparantly wasn't missing much
- BadassCheese, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18There is just no hope for some people.
- BadassCheese, on 10/12/2007, -6/+17Could the Wii run it well enough?
- Halodude1489, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Ea makeing a "deep single player campaign" on a RTS, Ring the bull ***** alarm. (looks at C&C Generals)
- Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I've yet to ever play an RTS on a console and not be horribly disappointed with the controls. Lets hope they prove me wrong...
- Methodius, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8It was supposed to prove that RTS's could be played on a console, and after that game, I guess you could play them on one, but you wouldn't really want to.
- Vektuz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'm sure EA will crap all over this just like most of their other games.
- Unbalanced, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"I'm just hoping it'll retain the old Westwood charm and EA won't bugger it up."
I don't think that's possible as most of the team left (I heard to form the studio that produced Star Wars: Empire at war and I thought that was more reminiscent of a Classic Westwood game than Generals ever could be). As far as I'm concerned, Westwood went to hell once EA gobbled them up (Just like Bullfrog. God I miss that group). I'm sure there are lots fans of their later work, but I feel that RA was the last real Westwood game.
It would also be pretty interesting if they allowed PC vs Xbox multiplaying. That's probably going to open a can of worms for those haters out there. But I've always liked the idea of cross platform gaming. It'll probably never happen, but one can dream. - WiBu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Keyboard and Mouse addon coming soon. It would make sense. Controlling an RTS the 360 controller would be a nightmare.
- Klarth, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6This is excellent news because I won't have to spend £800+ on a completely new rig just to play this game.
I'm just hoping it'll retain the old Westwood charm and EA won't bugger it up. PLEASE let there be FMV cutscenes with all the old actors, pleeeeeeeease. - joaob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You think the announcement of Halo Wars had anything to do with this?
I think so... - riplikethat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4For the love of some athiest god don't screw up C&C for PC later on... oh wait, it's EA.. nvm..
- supermanred, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6released later on with better graphics? who says so... so far all titles the ps3 has followed xbox360 versions are the same, only with WORSE graphics or serious graphical errors (check the stories on digg!)
- Jaymoon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6"I've yet to ever play an RTS on a console and not be horribly disappointed with the controls. Lets hope they prove me wrong..."
Apparently the Lord of the Rings RTS for 360 had good controls for what it's worth. Can't imagine C&C being too far off from the LOTR game. Althrough LOTR is not my kind of game, it'll be interesting to see how C&C works. - icepick314, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3i'm guessing you never read the release info for the PC version...
from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Command_%26_Conquer:_Tiberium_Wars#Casting)
As of October 18th 2006, several actors are confirmed to have been casted in the cutscenes of Tiberium Wars [2] -- Josh Holloway (Lost) will appear as a Nod Intelligence officer by the name of Ajay, Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) will be cast as a character named Kilian Qatar, Michael Ironside (Top Gun, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent) as the Global Defense Initiative's General Jack Granger, Billy Dee Williams as GDI Director Redmond Boyle, Grace Park (Battlestar Galactica) as Lt. Sandra Telfair, Ivana Bozilovic (Wedding Crashers) as Kirce James and Shauntay Hinton (Criminal Minds) as the reporter Brittany Bhima. - spartan777, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3silly console, rts's are for PC!
- scuba7183, on 10/12/2007, -11/+13finally, my life will be complete
- useful, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2game would work and probably be very fun on the wii with the nunchucks, but not the ps3
- chrismcelligott, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Hell yeah, this reminds of the mid 90s - it's such a kickass time to be a gamer :)
- xelloss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Battle For middle earth for the 360 worked pretty good, it is easy on a mouse though, but it worked and was playable.
- manicdvln, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't have a XBOX 360, but would like to know how RTS'es are played on this console. Wouldn't be extremely frustrating to micro manage units with analog stick? Seems almost pointlesss, unless you can hook a pc keyboard & mouse, is it possible? If you can, that would be kick ass.
- hunchback, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1any word on system requirement for PC?
- CircusNinja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@manicdvln: I can't imagine it will. Case in point: when was the last time you played a pc game in front of your TV, on the couch? I do it from time to time, but it's a nightmare getting into a comfortable position to actually make any sort of use of the keyboard / mouse. I reckon the first guy who can come up with some sort of "harness" or platform that would make this more viable will make a killing. What you guys reckon, is there something like that out there already? I've seen something like it for laptops, im sure...
- CircusNinja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ok, so knowing the ***** EA tries to pull nowadays, the checklist will propably look like this: Tiberium Wars "Core Game" - $60 , extra units - $5 a pop
maps - $5 a pop, "whatever-else-the-marketing-*****-at-EA-can-dream-up-as-a-MUST-have - $??.
sad, but true. Add the that, the absolute BALL ache it is to play an RTS on a console (I've been playing LOTR:BFME II for quite some time now, and the PC version is way way way better) and you have to ask yourself if it's worth it. - num1deluxe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I have been waiting for a long time For C&C to come back to the consul.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2omg mos def mos def. (tard)
- littlegiant, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1CnC was great on a console (still is). We used to network a couple of PS1s together with a couple of TVs and have tournaments. We even had a PS1 mouse for those who preferred it. It was a total riot. And I definitely agree that RA1 was the last greatest game of this series. Tiberian Sun - not bad. RA2 - totally sucked. I went halfway through the first mission, thought it was ridiculous, put it back in the box and never looked back. (it's got a thick layer of dust on it now...) CnC 3 should be interesting. Might even buy an XBox just to play it.
- fluidfoundation, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2THIS BETTER be INNOVATIVE!
hehehe - Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5Yeah it was pretty crappy. :/
- icepick314, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3anyone played LotR:Battle for Middle Earth 2 on 360?
if anything, it probably will play similiar to that game since it's same company...
personally, I'm building new gaming pc using 8800GTX...never tried RTS on console...seem a bit clunky for fast control... - r2tincan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1...because RTS' work so well on a console!
Maybe it will come bundled with a mouse? - justin22290, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1My life will be complete when they release the game to anything... I'm anticipating this release greatly. But i feel that the controls are going to be a bitch, I could see it being a great thing with a wii controller. The controller basically acts mouse. Which would make any game based mostly on just mouse control(RTS games usually are), an easy transition..
Usually the best potential to new tech is never achieved, which is always sad. - chinaski, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2No C&C, that's for sure. Maybe you are talking about Dungeon Keeper?
- zaguar, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Remeber Starcraft: 64 - probably the worst game for the N64, and the best game ever for a PC. Some things have to be done with a keyboard and mouse.
- justin22290, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1wii graphics mos def aren't powerful enough but the control would be easier...
- lorean, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0@icepick314
Grace Park is in it! OMFG I MUST get this game!!!! - sfacets, on 10/12/2007, -11/+7It is going to be released later to PS3 (same comment as SucKerS4Me, but without the imagery)
Wouldn't C&C be better on Wii? - BarriedaleNick, on 10/12/2007, -14/+9er...
no - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1I have a question that I think the Digg community can answer. Was there ever a C&C where you could switch between top down 3rd person game play to a fps????? I'm not talking about renegade!!! Cause thiz would kick azz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- SucKerS4Me, on 10/12/2007, -27/+3This game will later be released for PS3 with extra content and better graphics even though the PS3 sucks little baby *****.
