- inactive, on 02/03/2009, -3/+130Pfff. They just add new characters each year to their sports games.. Can't cost that much.
- inactive, on 02/04/2009, -0/+122I hope that includes the people who keep insisting on DRM
- larryjr88, on 02/03/2009, -12/+115When is the last time EA made an awesome game?
- lepetitmousse, on 02/04/2009, -0/+84serves them right for ruining simcity
- DrDustbunny, on 02/04/2009, -4/+74I got a better business plan.
1) How about you keep those 1100 employees and stop making the SAME ***** game every year.
2) Get rid of the damn DRM.
3) ?????
4) Profit! - ThunderGodNick, on 02/04/2009, -3/+691100 people were set free today.
YOU'RE FREE! FROLIC ALL YOU IMPRISONED PROGRAMMERS FROLIC! - erikerikerik, on 02/03/2009, -2/+61Meh, I think that the poor code they put out might play into it.
Lets put out a game...thats really a beta. Let our user base find all the bugs for use then we'll patch for them, for free!
I'm also kind of tired of buying 1 game for $50 1 week, then next week see it for $19 bin. But to make me feel better I can pick up the expansion pack for $20!! - Kazaki, on 02/04/2009, -5/+51Dead Space, Mirrors Edge, Skate 1 & 2, Boom Blox, Command & Conquer.
I understand it's cool to hate EA, but they've been trying to mix things up recently. Blind haters that won't buy anything EA at all, even their original stuff, will force EA to cater to the people who buy their sequels only. Good job. - poidh, on 02/04/2009, -0/+46How I wish I'd never bought that game.
- AndrewDB, on 02/04/2009, -3/+43http://instantcrickets.com/
- UtahApocalyse, on 02/04/2009, -2/+41Get rid of DRM and I will buy EA games again
- RichPowers, on 02/04/2009, -1/+40EA reported record revenue, but still posted a net loss. That indicates something is horribly wrong with the management of the company.
I blame bad games that cost way too much to make. Ballooning development costs are destroying the industry. I wonder how much money EA spent on cutscenes for RA3, which is totally ***** in the one area that counts: gameplay. - hitman619, on 02/03/2009, -11/+50i hopes this doesn't delay any awesome games coming out this year....
- tault, on 02/03/2009, -2/+39EA problem isnt because they dont make good games. They have made some good games take dead space for example. However for every great game, another 5 crappy games are released. EA needs to stop making so many crappy games. Because lots of companies out there are still profitable.
- Nauree, on 02/04/2009, -4/+36DIE EA DIE!
- AReallyGoodName, on 02/04/2009, -0/+28Awww i thought that going to be a version of EA Cricket '96
- Khast, on 02/04/2009, -2/+27Please be the whole Madden'XX/NHL'XX/NBA'XX/FIFA'XX/Tiger Woods'XX teams.....
What? It's not like we actually need to buy the same ***** game every year? The only thing that ever changes is the team stats, and maybe a little bit better graphics, and maybe a tweak to the physics engine.
As much as I like the Tiger Woods games, they really need to change the game a bit more with each release.... - djmeltdown, on 02/04/2009, -0/+24Fire 1100, Keep the DRM, great business model
- ranold, on 02/04/2009, -1/+24Considering the last four games that I've bought from EA have either NOT WORKED or had CRITICAL/SIZABLE PATCHES released, I've stopped buying their products.
EA customers are NOTHING but beta testers. - nickgj83, on 02/04/2009, -1/+23left 4 dead is a valve game
- infamousjr, on 02/03/2009, -6/+28SPORE!!!!
- KSchmib, on 02/04/2009, -1/+22They need to get rid of DRM. Maybe then I'll actually buy the game.
- dalittle, on 02/04/2009, -0/+21Wow, DRM is really paying off for EA. Maybe they will finally drop it.
- theg3neral, on 02/04/2009, -0/+20$641 million net loss. That's what you get for NFS: Undercover, a 4/10 on IGN.
- m0og0o, on 02/04/2009, -0/+20the execs that made a ***** simcity keep their job. The workers that follow their lead did not.
- dudestuff, on 02/04/2009, -0/+20pretty incredible that EA employed 10,000 people up until now.
- jetcombo15, on 02/04/2009, -0/+19Uh... Left 4 Dead wasn't made by EA.
- Infowarsdotcom, on 02/04/2009, -0/+18DRM Karma
- thelastcivilian, on 02/04/2009, -1/+17This is SPORE-TA?
- Expl0siv0, on 02/04/2009, -0/+16digg has no sense of sarcasm. don't worry hitman...i'll digg you up
- kinseyincanada, on 02/04/2009, -1/+14NHL 09 is probably one of the best sports games ive ever played.
- AndrewDB, on 02/04/2009, -4/+17Again, EA didn't make them. Digital Illusions CE did. They're a subsidiary (smaller company) of EA.
EA just distributes them. - AReallyGoodName, on 02/04/2009, -0/+12Opps i forgot a *was* in there didn't I?
I was thought that going to be a version of EA Cricket '96
There. All fixed. - bigteebo, on 02/04/2009, -0/+12It seemed like too long ago EA was an innvoative games company, making games for the Apple ][, etc.
- relay2005, on 02/04/2009, -0/+12Lower the games back to $49 bucks. Since the price hike I'm more picky on what I buy.
- Super6, on 02/04/2009, -1/+12The madden team is about 30 members total
- Twag86, on 02/04/2009, -0/+11Thats activision buddy
- NetJoe, on 02/04/2009, -0/+11Good, maybe after they buckle a few of the studios they devoured will rise from the ashes. They can take Atari, Sony games, and DRM right to hell as a package deal.
I've quit buying EA games due to their DRM, and their labor practices. - NinjaGod, on 02/04/2009, -1/+11Apple had games?
- javiero, on 02/04/2009, -0/+9damn... all these front page stories about companies laying people off.. I take it back, Id rather see Steve Jobs frontpage stories...
- inactive, on 02/04/2009, -0/+9Is your keyboard broken by any chance?
- JDoms, on 02/04/2009, -0/+9what does this mean for battlefield heroes?
- Jeremyz0r, on 02/04/2009, -2/+10If the average employee made $50,000 a year, it would take almost 12 years before EA made that money back.
- deepleet, on 02/04/2009, -0/+8NFS Undercover is totally crap.
- Juntistik, on 02/04/2009, -2/+10the Xbox 360 has the best attach rate, so I don't see what you mean by that.
- jman583, on 02/04/2009, -0/+8It's hard to make an ad supported game in a time where no one wants to advertise.
- npsken, on 02/04/2009, -0/+8Skate 2 is pretty neat.
- Tyrghast, on 02/04/2009, -0/+8Aaaaaaand DICE has gone to ***** under the control of EA. Alas BF1942, I knew thee well...
- iamichi, on 02/04/2009, -1/+9EA suck balls and have done for a very long time.
